Welcome back. This is a fun song ... no surprises as Electric Callboy are good fun. It is a straight 50-50 collaboration, but it is very much in the EC style. BABYMETAL are so versatile that they can blend in with anybody they choose to collaborate with - it takes a lot of talent and hard work to make it look so easy. This collaboration was actually BABYMETAL's idea - they were wanting to make a song that would be pure fun, one that people could dance along with like Electric Callboy's 'We Got The Moves' but they felt something was missing. They decided to ask EC if they would like to be involved so they went to see EC playing in Boston (they were both there at the same time last year) and met up backstage with them before the show. 'RATATATA' was the result.
This has to be that one in a few thousand cases where the Music Video is worth the watch! Seriously! I'm a Huge Babymetal Fan and most of the Time I always encourage reactors to watch the Live versions of their songs...but...there are always a few that have really Fantastic videos that are always worth the watch, and this is one of them. As good and Fun as this is live, the MV is on another level. It's part of the reason that this song was able to sell so many copies that they hit #1 on Billboards "Digital Song Sales" chart making it the FIRST ever #1 Single for either group in the USA!! So as always...More Babymetal!!! Put your Kitsune UP!! (going to see Babymetal for the first time in 1mo. 3days after 11yrs since I first found them!!!)
@@rah2287 I don't think I'm wasting my time as my main point here was to watch the MV for this song. But I AM into Babymetal, and I even stated that, so my comments are going to skew that direction..and who knows, maybe she will watch some more Babymetal videos and find something that is more to her liking...you know Babymetal is pretty eclectic so I can only try! Put your Kitsune UP!
I watched the PolandRock live a couple months ago. The ElectricCallboys really had the crowd going. The Warning followed them on stage and I was worried that they would not be able to get the crowd back. It took them about half a song. By the end of their set, everyone loved them.
Yeah Electric Callboy played Poland Rock right before TW.... their set was AMAZING. If you can find it like you did the girl's set definitely download it and check it out
If you go down this rabbit hole I will be here the entire way!! Your life will never be the same This band is just what everyone needs, they just don’t know it yet 👍🏻🤘🏻🔥
Saw EC live in two smaller venues, Silver Spring MD and Toronto last spring. Absolutely amazing live shows. Their energy is off the charts, and the guys' ability to perform perfectly while jumping around and dancing the entire time is impressive. They have great between song banter, both with each other and with the audience. They make you feel like you're friends. The crowds are very diverse, and most people really go hard on the participation, dressing up in themes from their music videos or in bright 80s colors in general. The guys have said in several interviews that when they write their songs, they always keep the live performance of it at the fore front of their minds, asking themselves, "How would this look and sound on stage?" IMO Kevin is the driver of their top notch crowd participation. Nico of course is his natural support structure, and when the two of them get going, they bounce off of each other both during performing and in between songs. They have a natural chemistry that translates very well on stage. It's 90 minutes of pure joy. You definitely have to see them for yourself. Your face will hurt from smiling for so long.
I’ve seen Electric Callboy 6 times now (3 headliners, 3 festivals) and I can confirm each concert is the most fun few hours of my life. Their energy and pure love of what they do comes through the audience, the pop is poppy, the EDM is Utz-utzing (as they would joke) and the heavy bits are pressing your sternum in. I’m also a raver/metalhead and so they are perfectly in my wheelhouse. Can’t recommend them enough next time they are in your neighborhood. Also genuinely kind guys in person. For another amazing live (and to see them in a smaller club setting) my niche fav is their MC Thunder live in Berlin. It’s probably my fave song as a crowd member. Pump It live in Hamburg is also an absolute blast. Both on their channel. Of course, both reference the music vids, but I think they are fun even for MV haters ;) Carry on and warm greetings from Berlin!
@@ashlenamusic I hope you get to one day! And I forgot another completely classic live - Hypa Hypa in Cologne :) These are some where I can only hear the live version these days, now that I’ve experienced it. May you get the chance soon!!
Great reaction again, very entertaining! Loving to see more EC on your channel. I could give you some recommendations for other EC videos - I'll link live performances of them (that's totally selfish as i just wanna see more EC reactions on your channel :D): -1. We got the moves- -2. Ratatata- 3. Hypa Hypa (live version from Lanxess Arena 2023 on EC's channel. Hypa Hypa was their breakout song after they changed their singer when Nico - clean vocals - joined EC) 4. Everytime we touch (i don't think there's an official live version of this out on EC's channel - only fancams. There'd be their full concert from Rock am Ring on the Rock am Ring channel, where everytime we touch is at timestamp 18:24) 5. Pump it (EC have two live versions of this ion their channel. The one from Denver is def great, not sure about the other one) 6. Mindreader (this would be the first more serious song of EC you'd listen to. There'd only be the live version of the Rock am Ring concert at timestamp 1:02:17) 7. Tekkno Train (There'd only be the live version of the Rock am Ring concert which is the start of the set) 8. Hurrikan 9. Parasite (another serious song. The MV has live footage included) 10. Spaceman (EC have a good live version of this song on their channel from Hamburg in 2023) 11. Hate/Love (another serious song. technically, the first song EC wrote when Nico joined the band but it was their second release post Nico after hypa hypa. You could do the concert from Rock am Ring timestamp 14:46) 12. MC Thunder I (this was from pre-Nico times. if you wanna have a version with nico you could eg do their live version from Berlin on their channel) 13. Fckboi (The live version on their channel from Denver is good) 14. Castrop X Spandau (There's a live version on EC's channel from Leipzig) 15. MC Thunder II (There'd be a live version from the rock am ring concert timestamp 5:20) 16. Arrow of love (There'd be a live version from the rock am ring concert timestamp 27:10) As others have mentioned, EC's music videos are very entertaining. I understand you prefer live performance, but you could also do music video first and then the live version. But I'd also be happy to watch you react to just the live performances if that's what you enjoy more. Hope this list helps. EC is currently working on a new album, so there'll hopefully be more to watch soon :)
I just saw you did a BMTH full concert reaction. For EC, there are also two good live recordings from their show. The latest would be the Rock am Ring 2024 Concert on the rock am Ring Channel. EC has a recording of their show from Ludwigsburg (I think from 2022) which is also good. The first one has a more of their recent songs in it
After a reactor and vocal analyst explained how Kevin's growl is technically done, Kevin said: I have no idea how to do that, I'll leave it to the professionals to explain. I do this until I taste blood in my mouth and then I know it's good. 😂
👍An awesome collaboration and performance.🔥🔥 Great reaction. 🦊 🖖❤ A live performance: BABYMETAL - Brand New Day feat. Tim Henson and Scott LePage from @Polyphia (OFFICIAL Live MV)
My first listen to Electric Callboy, I've heard Babymetal a time or two. Catchy as hell! And clearly the artists and crowd were having a blast!🤘 PS this video worth watching just for the mv commentary and pronunciation of Ratatata! 🤣 Thx Ashlena! 🙌
Electric Callboy are the most entertaining & joyful band in the world right now, Germans have not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs!! 😆🤘
Yeah, this is great! EC is the definition of guilty pleasure. They are so cheesy, but also infectiously fun. The ultimate festival band. Totally agree Ash, Toronto needs more festivals. Thanks for this! 👍
Glad you're falling in love wirh EC. In defence of their music videos, one of the guitarists and his brother make them all in-house and you can tell each one is a labour of love. If you only react to one, please do Hurrikan. It's less than 2 minutes long. Which is all I will say about it.
🪩 ❤❤ 🦊 🔌 Not that the festival's camera crew were aware, but that was Momometal (Momoko Okazaki), the newest BABYMETAL member with an "Are you ready?" growl and joining in with the "Everybody!" growls. The members refer to this as showing her fangs. : )
While I enjoy their MVs alot I'm happy that you prefer to see live performances, especially since EC is a really good live band. The concert in Ludwigsburg from their HYPA HYPA Tour 2022 is my personal favourite. They have the full show on their official channel: ruclips.net/video/5BPCHuHZuqc/видео.htmlsi=5-O3_UqDO-jtiXtg There's timestamps for each song and even subtitles for anything they say in between. I especially recommed "Rehab", "Back in the bizz" and "MC Thunder" from this concert.
@@ashlenamusic I totally agree. This is an absolutely fantastic concert, it was part of the first headline tour after Nico Sallach joined them and after the Corona regulations were lifted. It's hard to believe but for their current standards they played in a relatively small venue back then. The setlist was a mix of old (original singer Sebastian 'Sushi' Biesler) and new (new singer Nico) songs and they crushed it. And yes, my absolute favorite song of this performance is 'Rehab' - the end of the song is mind-blowing and really showcases what Kevin is actually capable of. 🤘🔥🖖
Then check out: Electric Callboy - WE GOT THE MOVES (LIVE 2022) I know you already seen and heard that song, but this live version is fire! Also every other live version brings the crowd to boil, they are all worth.

How I envy people in America and Europe that different artists come to them all the time and festivals are held. I dream and work on leaving Russia, but with an average salary of $400 per month in a country where rent costs $ 250, you can only survive. Sorry for the negativity. By the way, I suggest Pump it by them next
I really hope your country gets it shit together soon as well because before the war with Ukraine a lot more bands (including BABYMETAL) came to my country (Finland) on their way to Russia. But since no one is really going to your country anymore they really don't come here too since Finland is small and now it's kind of a dead end :D
That’s so sad I’m sorry. Hopefully they can get it together one day. But yeah Toronto is lucky for shows but not so much festivals. Also it’s expensive as hell to live here too 😭
