Accurate commentary! Yes, losing arty is a big mistake, I did have the tools not to allow it (i.e. 1 more inf blocker). Army comp / builds is indeed an issue and relying on that single arty was walking a very thin line. Losing the property is catastrophic. Pretty happy with the first 13-ish turns and reaching an equal position, but Clef played that phase of the game very well, SCOP pressure > SCOP use ;). Well played to him!
Crazy technical game, it's so easy to get even a little stalled as max and lose the matchup, there is so much pressure on max to make decisive moves fast.
Spoilers: The scop restraint from Clefairy was amazing, but I’m even more impressed with how well he used the mountains to his advantage. Talose’s positioning couldn’t really help behind all the terrain and his units kept getting picked off the moment they became isolated. The constant pressure from Clefairy make reinforcement difficult and allowed him to make way more battle copters, boosting his unit count and overall firepower. I was a little skeptical about the Max pick at first because of the easy airport lock but Clefairy really put on a masterclass here.
@@DeejusProductions Neither, the CO gets banned for that match. If no more COs of that tier exists, too bad you have to choose a CO of a lower tier. The only exception to this is Jugger and Flak mirrors.
I could never hold a power like that, i would always feel like wasting charge i could get. But seeing how effective the threat is i should really try that out, that's way more valuable than another power 5 turns later. I think theres also a saying along those lines; "threatening violence is more lucrative than applying it" or something like that
Talose should have really built more arty. If he had 2 more positioned before turn 16, Clefairy would have had a harder time doing his aggressive push. He wouldn't have lost those properties, stalled out the match, and potentially could have won.
In order to improve map making and make maps that allow for the usage of all the COs in a given tier, how would you say people ought to balance the income curves? 20-21K for Standard, but what about Fog and High Funds?
I managed to dominate this map with an early bomber, but I don't think that strategy would have worked at this level. Both Clefairy's attack positioning and Talose's defense were beautiful to watch unfolding.

I am glad the police saved Olaf from an aggressive out of control Max
The cop arrived at the scene and Max was so chill the cop left without making any arrests.
lmaooo thank god for the rare Cop 👮♂

Even in defeat, that Blizzard turn (17) was a thing of beauty. Well played both.

Towin or Talose, that is the question. Keep up the good work/output Deejus!
Fun fact: the mechs didn't attack a single time during the match

@@NotBoeDusky101 very true! they deter me from making them
I always like to see Max players dealing with Olaf's powers, that shit is hard for me
I remember watching this match as it happened and thinking it would be perfect for a Deejus video. This should be a Certified Banger™
"You know, this guy kind of reminds me of me, except... I'm me."
Clefairy has really evolved, I remember taking games on him back on 2022, he's now a Grand Master.
Beautiful map edge to map edge front line development. Such methodical play too!
Amazing game deejus thank you for sharing it with us always love your replay analysis :)
What a match Clefairy using those mountains to divide and conquer was just as good as his artillery snipe. Great game.
Comment for the algorithm!
29:34 Blizzard time !
Why cant awbw implement a button to prevent a mirror match
But who gets to pick the better CO then?
@@DeejusProductionsmaybe once there's a mirror, that co gets banned, you choose again, and if there's another mirror, repeat 🤷

Absolute masterclass from both players. You can only be highly impressed by both.
Thank you for the replay Deejus! Great content as always

100% dude, I love holding (non-global damage) powers- the psychologically impact is super strong
Oh my lord what is that video title
OK I READ THAT WRONG MY BAD LMAO
Wow just an amazing game
Excellent choice and commentary as always Deej

My god that Blizzard was so good it almost made me root for Olaf. But in the end, I'm always gonna root for the one playing against global-damage CO.

Someone who makes dismantling Talose look easy is a player to be feared. Lord Clefairy? More like King Clefable. 🫅
