I have one with the rtx 3050 gpu and I've had it for half a year now. I use it every day and most of the times for gaming. Really awesome laptop. Been able to play AAA games without a problem.
Had this laptop for a full year now, it’s had no problems. Got the 11th Gen I5 and the 3050. Only thing I’ve done is add 32 GB of ram. Thinking of upgrading storage now, but this laptop is definitely super good, and it’s sadly not able to boast its limits due to my horrible internet..
so i picked up the 3050 version about 2 months ago, i was looking through reconmended upgrades for my ram card and found your video. the beefier 3050 is otherwise the same exact thing and im playing rainbow six siege on 144 frames and having a great time. any gamer will know 8gb is a massive chokepoint and will actually cause most of your issues, im picking up two 16gb cards (YES THIS HAS TWO RAM CARD SLOTS) and i would reconmend this laptop to anyone, its a steal.
Is worth mentioning that it has a vacant slot for a 2.5" laptop drive. Adding a storage drive was easy and painless with no need to replace the NVME boot drive.
I agree with your video. I bought this one back in July. I've used it just about every day for work, school, personal, entertainment and gaming. I haven't upgraded ram or ssd yet. It's been running good, so good that I'm procrastinating the upgrades. It runs decently good, but not great. Of course there's better for a few hundred dollars more, but this is decent enough before the upgrades. I plan on going to 32GB on the ram, a 2TB nvme and 4TB 2.5 SSD. I figure that the costs of upgrading this laptop is better than getting the more pricier one just to add these upgrades anyway. I primarily use web based applications, office, play locally stored media and play GTA V on high settings. The i5 in this laptop is good enough for me. It's the most decent laptop for the price. Once you upgrade it, it will be a beast.

@Master-tg9lz if it's in the budget, absolutely! Gotta take a break from schoolwork every now and then, and this will absolutely allow you to "disappear" for a while. Just don't forget to back to school every now and then, and not spend all your time gaming 😂💪
i already having an actual high end desktop but i cant bring that everywhere so i'd be very satisfied with this just for casual and light gaming i'll just upgrade ram and buy a power bank idc about the heat bc i wouldnt actually be touching the laptop since i play with controller and i'll play all my competitive demanding games on my high end build whenever i'm home
I got this laptop a few years back for Christmas and I love it. For some reason mine has an i9 (I think I end to check when I get home) but it has 215 gigabytes of storage (I think). I upgraded the ram to 40 gigabytes (I added a 32 gigabyte card on for about $70) and it runs smoothly not the world’s best graphics but for someone who just plays games for fun it is perfect. I will say mine has a crap ton of bloatware (It’s just pre installed applications that take up a whole bunch of storage)
I just got the MSi RTX 3050 version for $599, even though they aren't the highest end. It also has 512gb SSD storage instead of the 256, which is another thing that sold me. I know they say they have hinge issues, and are made cheap, but what isn't these days? So we'll see how it goes since they have a 30 day return policy and I'll do no HEAVY gaming on it anyway. I use consoles and my Desktop PC for that stuff.
Btw it's normally $749, so yeah it's a steal. I just hope when I pick it up they don't give me the version in this video, nothing wrong with it. But that's not what I ordered lol. Pffft Walmart.
I just bought myself a new laptop to use for school, programming, and video editing, for only $448! It's a refurbished and upgraded Dell Precision 5530. Intel i7-8850H, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and a Nvidia Quadro P1000. Although it isn't an amazing graphics card, its still better than integrated graphics. I think this was a stellar deal for less than $450.
I got it a couple days ago and I’m loving it, it runs all the games I’m currently playing very well and so far I haven’t had any problems with the heating

I just bought one of these. The processor I got is a newer generation and it's running a RTX 3050 GPU instead, as well as a 512GB SSD. I think the other thing you didn't mention is along with the M.2 SSD slot it also has a slot for a 2.5 SSD or HDD as well if you need more space. For the price you'd really be hard pressed to find something better. The battery life is pretty terrible. I does have some hiccups doing things in autodesk software like like Maya and 3DS Max. For my purposes I really couldn't ask for better at this price point (29000¥ or around $300UDS) is what I paid.

From what I recall, it's about 5 hrs with standard usage and closer to 2/2.5 with active usage. But that all depends on your screen brightness, CPU/GPU usage, etc. In other words, just like anything else, the harder you drive her, the more gas she'll use. That's with every laptop - it's just science 👍
I need a new laptop mostly for video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. No gaming. For now. My 2 options are HP Victus i5-12500H (12 cores - 4p+8e) RTX 3050 4gb OR MSI i7-12650H (10 cores - 6p+4e), RTX 3050 6gb VRAM version. MSI is just a few bucks more. What's your suggestion?

Does it thermal throttle i have heard it only has one fan i am kinda worried about that. I am gonna use this for college mostly and might do some 1080p gaming in the weekends so i was worried if the heating could decrease some fps
MSI laptops are known for quality. Unless you plan on gaming 18 hours a day in a room with no airflow, it should be just fine to get you through college
I have the 10SC (Not sure if there similar) and I have no problem's except the ones I've had (probley because I was sometimes an idiot with downloading) and besides my mousepad not working after 7 months of having it (probley again, not the companies fault something probley happened its quite decent.
One word….HINGE ISSUES BIG. Do you research….the plastic attachment break within 24 months. Google MSI hinge issues and you will be surprised….MSI has known about issue and have continued to use the same system model often model.
Im actually using one of these to watch this video. To get this to actually work really really well, I had to upgrade the SSD to a 2tb SSD and upgrade the ram to 16gb because it has only one stick which only allows it to run in single channel mode. Also the temperatures of this laptop are really high, even for a gaming laptop, just when idle on the desktop it will be up in the 170's to 180's F. Gaming does work well on certain titles but others have to be ran at lower graphics settings to be able to have any playability at all. Battery life sucks on this machine. I can get maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hours of standard usage on a full charge, 45 minutes to an hour watching local videos, about 45 minutes watching RUclips or Netflix and about 25 to 30 minutes gaming (which really doesn't work when on battery). Speaking of that, when your on battery this system performs worse that other 15 year old gaming pc's that I've used with weaker specs. I cant even run Xemu (Original Xbox Emulator) on battery. All in all though this was a great review, If you plan on using this pc while its plugged in 90% of the time, and don't plan on installing much games then its a great buy but unless you have the skillset and stuff to upgrade it and want better battery performance then I would recommend a different pc.

Hi, can I ask for advice? I like your review of this laptop, i can get it for 554,76 dollars in my country, but its used. I need a gaming laptop on the run for the summerhouse you see and also have to look into wifi subscription. I mainly want to game world of warcraft on it and have discord. Anything else is just a bonus of gaming and ill no doubt do that, but those two are my main focus point. (have 1k steam games as example, few hundred gog games). Is 554,76 dollars too much as a used laptop? Remember my country denmark, everything is more pricey than in other countries, due to the taxes :(. But would used laptop from a reliable seller be worth it to be used for atleast 5 years ahead for maybe 40+ times in the summerhouse in the future of those 5 years? I say 5, because i estimate at somepoint i wont be able to play on it anymore due to software outdating with microsoft, which happened to my older gaming laptops. They simply cant run most games at all, including wow but can play GOG games that are pretty old, the highest with struggles is hitman absolution (2012), but thats on outdated microsoft hardware. Games below 2010 they can do, but its a struggle at times due to the oudated stuff.
I honestly think it's worth it. I was terribly impressed with this laptop when reviewing it. Even bought one for myself. Could you find "better" for that price? Maybe, but it will only be marginally better. It's a good deal ;)
@@AskYourComputerGuy I managed to find one, and total price is sadly 5k, plus 1.7k danish crowns for 3 years safety warranty which covers so much, even damage by moving homes or burglary. So 6.7k, which is 984,22 us dollars. Again, taxes imo that raise it up. But I'll buy it as I really need that gaming laptop, while not the best of the best, it does just well for me for atleast 3 years from now. Thats 342,72 us dollars per year where i really need it and always have it at home too or if i need to use it other places.

Can't speak to DCS specifically as I'm not a gamer...but I have had lots of viewers comment that this laptop is actually better than they expected and can run games that they did not expect it to be able to run. Sorry I can't be more informative...gaming isn't my thing 🤷♂️

You should still be able to see the refund. Should be back on whatever card it was purchased with. The non-reloadable only applies to adding funds to it...not related

I bought 10sc with i5 10th gen. It's been 1 years and 2 months using this laptop. Everything's fine until I started to realise the battery drained faster than before. I don't know why. It drained for 28% in 31 minutes💀 What should I do?
Batteries should only do that when they are under extra heavy usage, and usually with power performance settings set to maximum. If nothing is really "different" than normal, you might have a failing battery

@jayknuffke285 even with 2/4 monitors, and a dock that supports higher resolution, you'll only get the maximum resolution available from the laptop, if that makes sense
Awesome! I didn't notice any battery issues, but that's likely to happen when gaming at high settings. I rarely use a laptop on battery, so it's not something I would catch. But noted for my next video review, will definitely have to make note of that consideration! Thanks
Hard to say without real world working test. I'd start with lowering gameplay graphics level. Also might be game specific, night only do that on certain games. Just hard to say. Start lowering settings until the problem stops

Battery life for most laptops will be pretty standard. It all depends on a) how you use it (gaming, anything CPU intensive, etc) and b) your Windows battery performance settings. Most average laptops will give you 2-3 solid hours for "average" usage. Anything that requires heavy resources will dramatically reduce that amount

Yes says lost connection in the game then when I close the game and go to the Home screen it’s no longer connected to the internet but it reconnects almost immediately after going to the Home Screen
Can't speak to that, since that isn't the model I reviewed...but I would imagine ANY iteration of this laptop would still be pretty amazing. Do your homework though, before you buy 💪
Let me tell you why not to buy MSI laptops. Mine is four years old and I struggle with it. These things have the worst plastic cases I seen. No heat dissipation at all. Laptop gets super-hot during gaming. The keyboards on these are dying because of the heat and of weak keycap quality. Sound here is low and sounds like a box. These cases don't protect your motherboard when you carry this thing. Battery life is a joke. 3-4 hrs on internet, gaming is 30 mins on battery. The battery on these is not removeable. And you are lucky if you have an extra m2 slot there as 256 gb will get you nowhere today as a 'gamer'. My laptop looks like a mess. Acid from your hands will eventually destroy the cheap lexan case. Most of these have USB-C for decoration as no display output or actual charging is done. Mouse tracking pad was wobbly since first day. For your own sake, don't buy MSI! They cheap but you get 'poo' and in mere months you will experience problems after problems.
Interesting take. I've had and known several people that have MSI gaming laptops without all these kinds of issues. Maybe you just got a bad laptop out of the box. How soon did these issues start for you?
@@AskYourComputerGuy I think after a month. Since the case not holding the motherboard properly, my wifi adapter and BT constantly dropped. The inside of these laptops are power-houses yet they put this tech into plastic houses like toys. Don't forget the additional bloatware you get for free installed also.
@Zed1987X with all those issues, I would have probably returned it after only a month. I've never had an issue with MSI, but our use cases might be different too 🤷♂️
This one, actually. If you want "hardcore" gaming ability, you're not gonna find that for under $600. This is about the closest I've seen to that, which is why I made a video about it. It's a quality gamer laptop under $600:)
I have to disagree on some points. At first please don't get me wrong, i'am talking about the laptop GPU version, which was totally different from 1650 desktop. So, 11400h CPU for GTX1650Ti mobile GPU is already too much for gaming, and pairing this GTX1650 mobile with i7 would be an overkill. In fact, GTX1650 mobile was pretty shitty when it came out, you can even find this opinions on the net - people literally wrote "don't buy this!". Secondly, buying a laptop with this GPU today is a waste of money, if you ask me. Of course they can be very cheap, but that is being reflected by its power in gaming. What i would recommend is something with at least RTX3050 on board. It will surely cost you more, but you will get a lot more computing power, a much more advanced GPU which will be able to run new games for more years to come, DLSS frame generation (that can be a real game changer!) and so on. I had an Acer laptop with 10400h and 1650Ti 4gig and 8 gigs of RAM for almost two years - it was ok. Unfortunately it ended in a "beer bath" half a year ago. Now i have another Acer laptop with 11400h and 3060 (6gig) and 16 gigs of RAM. I can say that this change, albeit due to unfortunate events, was _really_ impressive. Is was over two times more expensive that the MSI presented here, but you don't have to go for 3060 - get 3050 instead, and it won't be as expensive. And believe me: if you want to play modern games - stay away from 1650 mobile, especially today. This chip is 3 years old now, and it wasn't the best one when it came out. It was mediocre one at best.

btw specs are not everything, i promise you the hinge will be broken (for sure) after aprx 6-8 months of NORMAL usage cuz they use cheap plastic hinge mechanism, and the single fan design is absolutely awful thats why the gpu is capped to 40w TGP without mentioning the cpu capped at 30w almost all times so idk i could add a few more bucks to get a victus 15 or lenovo LOQ those are faaaaaaaar more durable and reliable machines that can endure more than normal usage better then this garbage and ofc performs better
@@Abdullah-568 well i have worked on a pc shop and the customers where returning the 2020/2021 models because of the hinge but i would say after i tested out the 2022/2023 models they lessened the hinge a bit from what i could tell, and remember to kinda open it slowly and from the center of the lid to not break the hinges holder of the lid on the long run, so your safe if you take car of it 😉
I've always liked MSI for consumer grade products. Alienware is absolutely on a whole other level, no doubt. Even after Dell bought them (which honestly surprised me) 💪
Depends on your definition ...in my world, a touch screen either works or it doesn't. Not sure how one can be "better" than another. But I also hate fingerprints, so I disable touch screen as soon as possible anyway 😂

For the price you'd really be hard pressed to find something better. The battery life is pretty terrible. I does have some hiccups doing things in autodesk software like like Maya and 3DS Max. For my purposes I really couldn't ask for better at this price point (29000¥ or around $300UDS) is what I paid.

I bought this one yesterday to play football manager 2024, and I hope this laptop is good enough for that. The specs on the one I bought is:

From what I recall, it's about 5 hrs with standard usage and closer to 2/2.5 with active usage. But that all depends on your screen brightness, CPU/GPU usage, etc. In other words, just like anything else, the harder you drive her, the more gas she'll use. That's with every laptop - it's just science 👍

I need a new laptop mostly for video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. No gaming. For now. My 2 options are HP Victus i5-12500H (12 cores - 4p+8e) RTX 3050 4gb OR MSI i7-12650H (10 cores - 6p+4e), RTX 3050 6gb VRAM version. MSI is just a few bucks more. What's your suggestion?

MSI laptops are known for quality. Unless you plan on gaming 18 hours a day in a room with no airflow, it should be just fine to get you through college
I have the 10SC (Not sure if there similar) and I have no problem's except the ones I've had (probley because I was sometimes an idiot with downloading) and besides my mousepad not working after 7 months of having it (probley again, not the companies fault something probley happened its quite decent.

One word….HINGE ISSUES BIG. Do you research….the plastic attachment break within 24 months. Google MSI hinge issues and you will be surprised….MSI has known about issue and have continued to use the same system model often model.
Im actually using one of these to watch this video. To get this to actually work really really well, I had to upgrade the SSD to a 2tb SSD and upgrade the ram to 16gb because it has only one stick which only allows it to run in single channel mode. Also the temperatures of this laptop are really high, even for a gaming laptop, just when idle on the desktop it will be up in the 170's to 180's F. Gaming does work well on certain titles but others have to be ran at lower graphics settings to be able to have any playability at all. Battery life sucks on this machine. I can get maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hours of standard usage on a full charge, 45 minutes to an hour watching local videos, about 45 minutes watching RUclips or Netflix and about 25 to 30 minutes gaming (which really doesn't work when on battery). Speaking of that, when your on battery this system performs worse that other 15 year old gaming pc's that I've used with weaker specs. I cant even run Xemu (Original Xbox Emulator) on battery. All in all though this was a great review, If you plan on using this pc while its plugged in 90% of the time, and don't plan on installing much games then its a great buy but unless you have the skillset and stuff to upgrade it and want better battery performance then I would recommend a different pc.

Hi, can I ask for advice? I like your review of this laptop, i can get it for 554,76 dollars in my country, but its used. I need a gaming laptop on the run for the summerhouse you see and also have to look into wifi subscription. I mainly want to game world of warcraft on it and have discord. Anything else is just a bonus of gaming and ill no doubt do that, but those two are my main focus point. (have 1k steam games as example, few hundred gog games). Is 554,76 dollars too much as a used laptop? Remember my country denmark, everything is more pricey than in other countries, due to the taxes :(. But would used laptop from a reliable seller be worth it to be used for atleast 5 years ahead for maybe 40+ times in the summerhouse in the future of those 5 years? I say 5, because i estimate at somepoint i wont be able to play on it anymore due to software outdating with microsoft, which happened to my older gaming laptops. They simply cant run most games at all, including wow but can play GOG games that are pretty old, the highest with struggles is hitman absolution (2012), but thats on outdated microsoft hardware. Games below 2010 they can do, but its a struggle at times due to the oudated stuff.
I honestly think it's worth it. I was terribly impressed with this laptop when reviewing it. Even bought one for myself. Could you find "better" for that price? Maybe, but it will only be marginally better. It's a good deal ;)
@@AskYourComputerGuy I managed to find one, and total price is sadly 5k, plus 1.7k danish crowns for 3 years safety warranty which covers so much, even damage by moving homes or burglary. So 6.7k, which is 984,22 us dollars. Again, taxes imo that raise it up. But I'll buy it as I really need that gaming laptop, while not the best of the best, it does just well for me for atleast 3 years from now. Thats 342,72 us dollars per year where i really need it and always have it at home too or if i need to use it other places.

Correct. Even though external graphics cards exist, they will not give you any performance increase like you would expect. And usually quite expensive

Some laptops run hot. I'd recommend a laptop cooling tray that you can sit your laptop on top of...it will push the heat away from your lap

You should still be able to see the refund. Should be back on whatever card it was purchased with. The non-reloadable only applies to adding funds to it...not related

Batteries should only do that when they are under extra heavy usage, and usually with power performance settings set to maximum. If nothing is really "different" than normal, you might have a failing battery

Hard to say without real world working test. I'd start with lowering gameplay graphics level. Also might be game specific, night only do that on certain games. Just hard to say. Start lowering settings until the problem stops

Battery life for most laptops will be pretty standard. It all depends on a) how you use it (gaming, anything CPU intensive, etc) and b) your Windows battery performance settings. Most average laptops will give you 2-3 solid hours for "average" usage. Anything that requires heavy resources will dramatically reduce that amount
Having trouble with mine it has the 3050 with the same 11th gen i5 and when I try to play games online it kicks me offline after 10-15 minutes any suggestions?
Kicks you off the internet or out of the game? Off internet, I would suggest trying a different game, see if you get similar results
Yes says lost connection in the game then when I close the game and go to the Home screen it’s no longer connected to the internet but it reconnects almost immediately after going to the Home Screen

Let me tell you why not to buy MSI laptops. Mine is four years old and I struggle with it. These things have the worst plastic cases I seen. No heat dissipation at all. Laptop gets super-hot during gaming. The keyboards on these are dying because of the heat and of weak keycap quality. Sound here is low and sounds like a box. These cases don't protect your motherboard when you carry this thing. Battery life is a joke. 3-4 hrs on internet, gaming is 30 mins on battery. The battery on these is not removeable. And you are lucky if you have an extra m2 slot there as 256 gb will get you nowhere today as a 'gamer'.
My laptop looks like a mess. Acid from your hands will eventually destroy the cheap lexan case. Most of these have USB-C for decoration as no display output or actual charging is done. Mouse tracking pad was wobbly since first day.
For your own sake, don't buy MSI! They cheap but you get 'poo' and in mere months you will experience problems after problems.
Interesting take. I've had and known several people that have MSI gaming laptops without all these kinds of issues. Maybe you just got a bad laptop out of the box. How soon did these issues start for you?

The inside of these laptops are power-houses yet they put this tech into plastic houses like toys.
Don't forget the additional bloatware you get for free installed also.
@Zed1987X with all those issues, I would have probably returned it after only a month. I've never had an issue with MSI, but our use cases might be different too 🤷♂️

This one, actually. If you want "hardcore" gaming ability, you're not gonna find that for under $600. This is about the closest I've seen to that, which is why I made a video about it. It's a quality gamer laptop under $600:)

I think it's only one color. You might find replacement keyboards with different color schemes, but I think it's red only from the factory
I have to disagree on some points. At first please don't get me wrong, i'am talking about the laptop GPU version, which was totally different from 1650 desktop. So, 11400h CPU for GTX1650Ti mobile GPU is already too much for gaming, and pairing this GTX1650 mobile with i7 would be an overkill. In fact, GTX1650 mobile was pretty shitty when it came out, you can even find this opinions on the net - people literally wrote "don't buy this!". Secondly, buying a laptop with this GPU today is a waste of money, if you ask me. Of course they can be very cheap, but that is being reflected by its power in gaming. What i would recommend is something with at least RTX3050 on board. It will surely cost you more, but you will get a lot more computing power, a much more advanced GPU which will be able to run new games for more years to come, DLSS frame generation (that can be a real game changer!) and so on.
I had an Acer laptop with 10400h and 1650Ti 4gig and 8 gigs of RAM for almost two years - it was ok. Unfortunately it ended in a "beer bath" half a year ago. Now i have another Acer laptop with 11400h and 3060 (6gig) and 16 gigs of RAM. I can say that this change, albeit due to unfortunate events, was _really_ impressive. Is was over two times more expensive that the MSI presented here, but you don't have to go for 3060 - get 3050 instead, and it won't be as expensive. And believe me: if you want to play modern games - stay away from 1650 mobile, especially today. This chip is 3 years old now, and it wasn't the best one when it came out. It was mediocre one at best.

btw specs are not everything, i promise you the hinge will be broken (for sure) after aprx 6-8 months of NORMAL usage cuz they use cheap plastic hinge mechanism, and the single fan design is absolutely awful thats why the gpu is capped to 40w TGP without mentioning the cpu capped at 30w almost all times so idk i could add a few more bucks to get a victus 15 or lenovo LOQ those are faaaaaaaar more durable and reliable machines that can endure more than normal usage better then this garbage and ofc performs better

@Abdullah-568 no more than any other laptop. It's usually related to how the laptop is handled more than part defects
@@Abdullah-568 well i have worked on a pc shop and the customers where returning the 2020/2021 models because of the hinge but i would say after i tested out the 2022/2023 models they lessened the hinge a bit from what i could tell, and remember to kinda open it slowly and from the center of the lid to not break the hinges holder of the lid on the long run, so your safe if you take car of it 😉
