I love your tree because it reminds me of our family trees from way back when. We would go as a family and chop down our tree every year. So fun. Mom always wanted perfect when it came to the tree..and the trees we chopped down were never that..but we as kids loved our trees just the same. We had such a mismatch of ornaments that came out of the box every year even if they were chipped or not perfect . Our tree ornaments gave us wonderful happy memories . The one thing I hated to put on the tree, was tinsel. Gosh that stuff was brutal...but Mom loved it. Anyway...I am rambling but I really appreciate your tree as its not like everyone else which makes it special.

The dried fruit is so cool! We did oranges with cloves in a bowl on our dining table when I was young! I should have my girls make some of those for our thanksgiving table 😍🤗😘❤️🌲

This is the first tree I’ve seen on RUclips that is actually me. I love the oranges I made them last year in the oven and they make the tree look so beautiful, I love the way the light goes through them, I use jute to string them. I totally want this Noble fir too!
Awww that makes me so happy that you love it! I also am so happy someone else still uses old traditional elements like dried fruit. Its been a long time since I've seen that as I've never used it personally in my own decor, but my parents used to way back when! Thanks so much for watching :)
Eclectic Kristen my mom came from Austria and also made orange pomanders with clove designs that made the house smell wonderful. I never thought of apple slices and I’m excited to try it. I just got a new dehydrator. I love your style and I love the old fashioned Christmas.

I love how you want your decor to be unique. Often people shop at the same chain stores and decor across the internet can look so much the same. Pretty but not necessarily expressing individual personalities. That is something I admire about your unique decor. I have a story I want to share. I have a girl friend whose parents immigrated from Switzerland in the 1950s. So my friend has traditions and recipes from Switzerland. They always have real candles on their Christmas tree. Special small candles on clips. They also string the tree with regular lights. They only light the candles several times a season. She had my husband and I and a small group of friends over for a dinner party. After the meal we sat in the living room. They put on old sheet under the tree to catch the melting wax and then light the candles. The lights were turned off, only the glow of the small candles. It was mesmerizing watching the candle flames. We had such meaningful conversation that evening. At the risk of being overly dramatic, it was a spiritual experience. Perhaps because we were all friends of many years acquaintance but also because I knew I would probably never experience an evening like that again in my lifetime. Thank you for listening to my long story.
Carolyn Maves hi Carolyn, that’s a lovely story! Thank you for sharing ♥️ My mom told me that her grand parents lit real candles as well. They would only put their tree up on Christmas Eve for Christmas Day so it wouldn’t be as much of a fire hazard, but it’s funny how much things have changed over time.

This is so different from anything else I’ve seen. Very simple, yet stunning. I especially love the dried oranges. I’ve seen some beautiful mantles on Pinterest with cedar garland and dried orange slices. It’s so lovely. Great job Kristen ❤️

I think it’s adorable and all that matters is that it makes YOU happy!! I lucked out and grabbed wooden garland beads from HL when they had them in their fall collections for $5 cuz lord knows those things can get wicked pricy
Thank you so much! ooo thats a steal... they are pricey, plus, you trick yourself into thinking you can get away with 1 garland, but a normal size tree really needs more like 4+ if you are wrapping the entire way around!
