I got in my 10 gallon some species of cricket, stag beetles, springtails, slugs, non parasitic mites, earwigs, two ant colonies, and earthworms. The only animals that did not come with the dirt or wood I got from outside is the springtails that died and were replaced with the springtails in the dirt.
@@TheAntKeeper I got Aphaenogaster sp. and Tetramorium sp. in the vivarium. I just made a cheaper version of how NorticAnts’ vivariums are made. In the start it had a mold outbreak so I suggest taking thinks from the wild before getting the ants in the vivarium. The planes where filled with mold and nothing I tried could stop it so I had to wait until the cleanup crew that came with the dirt I put (that I mixed the dirt with leave litter and pieces of wood I found outside to hold more water and nutrients) but after one or two months it was safe with crickets, spiders, and other animals I did not put. Later I added many other animals I found outside and animals that invaded my house.
I'm gonna join the challenge to, I just bought an aquarium, it's 120cm by 40cm by 50cm and I will be making a multispecies paludarium/vivarium I will introduce all kinds if animals I find in my garden, maybe ants I'm not sure, but it will have more than 5 species and bc I'll be using compost from my garden it might have more than 50😅 👍
The colony is doing pretty well, around 200-300 workers, they lost about 200 workers this winter - not sure why. I want to do a build similar to this video for them, but still working out how to 100% not let them escape.
I need a job. But no luck so far. I’ve applied for 2000 plus jobs online. Even went to my local town’s shops and stores. Seems no one is wanting to hire atm 🤷
