4:25 Just want to add that the heat does increase during long chases. You will sometimes get a timer at the top of the screen after which the heat will increase if you have not escaped.
@@MilitiaGamingCommunity Do note that this heat increase during a chase does not carry over to your world heat. Once the chase is over your heat level goes back to what it was before the chase started.
@@MilitiaGamingCommunity yeah, i've reached lvl 4 from 1.5 heat chase... it was insane, because i was with pretty low level car my car was almost totaled two times... The only way to get away at this time was me, running inside the city and driving underground... It was insane, the entire chase lasted like 15 minutes and i was sweating like crazy, because i had 12K unbanked... xD (at low levels that's a lot of money, lol)! :D
So i just started playing heat a couple weeks ago, but i feel the graphics and maybe duelsense technology is lacking being a ps4 game, would u recommend i finish it first or buy this for the improvements 🤔
In the options it says press right on d-pad to change music. Problem is, the music isn’t changing when I press it and I’m 10 hours in the story. Does anyone know what the problem is with the music not changing?
After returning to the garage the game should ask - "Do you wish to go to the next day/night or continue with the same day/night". That would be a lot more helpful.
I think that takes away from the grind. I like how they made it. For a while I felt like my car was too slow for anything past Heat lvl 2/2.5 because didn’t wanna see what 3 or higher was like. Kinda scared me wanting to figure out at least. But then one of the nights had a lot of big money races that I didn’t wanna miss out on cuz I really wanted to get my car upgraded a lot more at once so I decided to do a few more races and with that I found out if I just maneuver the right route and stay out of the way I can do fine at lvl 3.5 heat. All in one I think what you’re asking for takes a lot away from the risk/reward system
@@xxeroxxasxx_653 When it comes to cops in this game, seriously, just go off-road if you're 4 or 5 and not currently being chased. I've made it back to a garage several times by just going cross country. "Roads? Where we're going we won't need roads." Fields, forests, and mountain mud roads are not patrolled by the fuzz.
Honestly the way they have a chopper in the sky and too many cops in one spot, they need to work on that honestly, I feel like I can’t get anywhere in this damn bc I’m always having to avoid cops and that takes too much time to reach a destination
I actually kind of like that the game forces you to play certain races on certain in game days/nights. In heat, I kind of got sick of seeking out the highest rewarding races and doing those over and over again. This system in unbound adds some variety. At least for the way I play NFS.
Exactly what I was thinking, I would love to not have to play the same race at the end of the game's life over and over again to make money as effectiently as possible. Heat was too painful at the end. It was just Sonic and J Storm back to back for hours and it was so boring.
I actually found more joy in doing the smaller races in Heat. Typically taking a car that was underpowered and seeing how far I could take it, and only upgrading it to a realistic performance level. For example, taking the 180sx and only upgrading it to a 160 performance level and seeing how far I could take it.
@@zenkoz3158 true! Lol 😂. After seeing a few play throughs of Unbound, it definitely doesn't suit my style of play lol, especially with day races now being illegal/gaining heat. But thankfully I don't mind passing on this game and just continuing to play Heat.
One thing I absolutely hate is how useless pursuits are because the heat level doesn't multiply your rewards so it's like I just escaped a heat 5 pursuit and only get 2.5k and nothing else back in heat coming back to the safehouse with 250k on a heat 5 night and have that turn to 1M was soooo satisfying, and after races even if cops aren't near u and chasing AI, after the cutscene it forces you to be right in front of the police and escape them making gameplay so much slower
i wasnt really into the effects when I saw the trailer, but they really add the the overall experience and I actually really like them now. The audio effects are also really cool especially when you use your burst nitrous when its completely full.
actually the cartoony effects are off putting to me, it want to drag new younger audience with flashy visual noise. It really dont mach with realistic geometry and world, it feel more like goofy mod. I am part of the generation that play NFS MW when it came out, and still play it time to time.
How is that a cheese? Even in heat it was only worth repeating max level races twice because the rewards decrease. And even then, that’s an intended gameplay mechanic.
this game feels pretty retro and i really like that. theyve made so many changes and made the racing so competitive. one really good thing i like is how the drifts are harder to master and slow u down more depending on ur angle, makes it necessary to perfect drifts
It might feel retro but for 69.99 I would think that you should get a better experience than what a mobile game could offer you. And that's what this is: a glorified triple a mobile game
@@adruuun if you like it, that's all that matters, but it still doesnt make it ok. The gaming industry has been getting away with ALOT in the past 4 years. Some people liked cyberpunk when it came out, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it's not acceptable to put out unfinished and/or shabby gameplay and charge 59-69 $ for it. Need for speed unbound should never have been a full priced game.
I was pleasantly surprised they added the pandem bodykit for the r32 gtr. Also, I want them to add back the big step small step paint options and maybe add the factory paint choices like in hot pursuit. One more thing, I want to see them add deep dish Weds Kranze series rims like they have the deep dish work s1 and work s1 with rivets like the work m1 wheels. Simple, but very effective for customisation.
@@ZSlayer_05 Yeah I found that but I meant with the numbers on both sides so I can copy the factory colours like the paint code for bayside blue is 232, 96, 52, fine metal flake.
overall this is in my opinion one of the most investing stories in a need for speed game. sure it's the same old "cops are corrupt" thing, but the characters are very easy to get attached to. Even when you're helping other racers by driving them to their safehouses, the dialogue is awesome and you get to learn more about the people you're always racing against.
I like how the game shakes up a lot of things. Limitations like day-to-day events, limited resets, and tier systems help make you think on your feet about how you approach each day. Games with total freedom can get boring eventually but systems like this help add variety to how you play instead of racing with the same car in the same races. The effects, I was worried it would be obnoxious but it really didn't matter and just blended in with the background with how high stakes the races can be.
@Brawler I hate that too. How about not gating me with the tier system? Make the races that get easier when i upgrade worth less money like every other game. Instead they make it so that as soon as I get into a new tier, I'm 8th in power rankings. Plus, I literally start in 8th place for no reason. It's an idiotic system for no reason.
I haven't played the game yet, but all the negative things that were listed I like because it forces strategy and that's just what I like. As soon as you mention the online playlist, I was taken back to the run and I remember spending around 3 hours every single night playing online with all kinds of different people and I like that they limited it to four because you're always going to meet newer people. I love everything that I've heard about this game so far and when people complain about stuff the stuff they complain about is why I like it more. I don't know how many people are out there like me, but I like everything about this game that I've heard and I cannot wait to play it
This comment needs to be on every video of toxic people acting like everyone is supposed to agree with their opinion. I totally agree with you. What one person may absolutely love, another person will absolutely hate. The art design is another perfect example. Some Ppl would say the graphics are “bad” when it’s not. it’s just a different design. Cartoony, anime or whatever you want to call it does not mean that the graphics are bad. It’s just animated which some would say may be better than photo realistic graphics. It’s all preference and some people seem to forget that very often. Another example would be…I am one that actually prefers more of a simcade physics than 100% simulation because it’s more comfortable and responsive for me with less of a frustrating chore of a learning curve. so many pure sim racing gamers say that simcade or arcade physics are garbage or bad when it’s not.
Need for speed and strategy shouldn't be in the same sentence. This game is trash. It's worse than a mobile game. You hold down r2 until you get to a corner and tap r2 than hold it again. That's it. There's absolutely no skill involved. What kind of racing game doesn't involve using your breaks and coasting around a corner at just the right time to test your skill? And the graphics are horrible. The whole cel shading thing is a gimmick to catch the attention of children. I don't understand how anyone that considers themselves a fan of racing or racing games could ever consider purchasing this pile of crap after the free trial
@@robb8246 It's about maintaining a line. COD for example is way easier then Tarkov for example, but they're targeting different things and they both have their own skill gap. NFS has always been a arcade racer at heart. It will never be simulation heavy and ask for perfection.
Multiplayer is a bit useless to play right now. Nothing is linked to single player except collectibles, so if you want cash from them, pick which one is best for it, likely multiplayer since it's already a struggle just to get cash there with at most about 18,000-21,000 for winning races depending on rank.
I thought NFS was dead but this game honestly seems like a push back in the right direction, back towards Underground, Most Wanted '05, and Carbon. The cell shading FX really feels like it is calling back to the identity that Underground shot for. And the fact the police chases actually have depth to them? This is the first game to do that since Most Wanted '05! I'm actually excited! I can't wait to pick this up later this week and start playing. I feel like I'll enjoy the day/night cycle as well, I always liked to replay specific races over and over to rack up money in older games but this is going to force variety while building up. More of a grind but less feeling like a grind, I like it!
This Need for Speed is a push in the wrong direction! Need for Speed Heat done is much better. The silly cartoon effects need to be removed. AI racers are impossible to beat on hardest difficulty, plus the gameplay is almost Forzafeel like. Its sad because for next gen game, i feel like the previous Need for Speed just hit alot better!
@@endytu1788 no you cant you clown. You can tone them down, the effect is called "cloaked" yet still gives you silly anime tyre smoke 😂😂 game is stupid and made for children
@@whosniles I was scared to try out Heat after the downward spiral that started way back with Pro Street. Especially with the criticisms that were at play with Heat. The criticisms we see with Unbound are like "I don't like the day/night cycle, I don't like the cell shader style" both of which I'm really excited about. The FX absolutely gives this series an identity to stand out against the rest of the racing game crowd. Hopefully they continue with it. Also the day/night cycle puts into play a legitimate risk/reward system I feel like. Sure it seems completely arbitrary but I think it's a neat addition honestly. Can't wait to buy it after my paycheck comes in!
I feel the game exceeds beyond my expectations. When I first saw the trailers leading up to the early access & release I thought it would be let down graphically and with all the effects. When Early Access came I was blown away by how good the game looked however I had some minor problems there were pixelated issues I was having like random blue pixels all over my character's face and the license plate of the car but it wasn't long before that issue was taken care of. I like the change of the handle tuning feels more enjoyable and it's nice that I can dial it in on the road instead of going back to the garage over and over again though I wish it was available during races so you can dial it further if you're coming across problem you weren't having before. The point of the story I can get behind but there's just so much crap discussions that just get annoying. I feel the cops can be easy to get around and get away from without much challenge I'm not playing the game on the easiest level but not the hardest either. The customizations are ridiculously nice and it's great to see them being pushed to another level. I love the variety of the races I don't like doing the same race over and over like I was doing in Heat trying to grind cash and levels. The world feels nice and big filled with people doesn't feel empty like Payback and Heat. Imo I give the game a solid 4/5, would be a 5 if the story was better, I could tune the car during the race, and the cops were more challenging.
I’ve heard the online multiplayer doesn’t have any cops and that’s really making me reconsider even buying the game that was my favorite part of heat doing heat 5 races with friends online
I’ve dealt with this mechanics in a previous old school racing game. Heck it was harder because you had to figure out clues from racers you beat in order to find dates, times or certain vehicles you needed to race etc.
i love the difficulty of the game at intense, it's already much more engaging than heat where the game was basically free even on hard. the thing they need to change is the party size, it's just too small. 8 players for a party is perfect i think, and i hope they make them bigger. (for potential streams/tournaments from Trigger hehe)
I’m glad to hear they fixed the traffic stopping in the middle of an intersection. It was stupid how a tow truck would stop right in a middle of an intersection just for me to crash right into it.
I got mine started about two days ago(Two jobs not a lot of time to myself) and did one race in Challenging mode (I think, 1 down from Intense so Medium) and it wasn’t bad. This info is very helpful like Trigger always is. I’m hoping to carve out a few hours to get on and push through and have some fun with this.
I'm not 100% sure but I believe you can increase heat during a chase by allowing them to get reinforcements. I screwed up enough to allow that and I think the heat went up
During a chase, allowing reinforcements to arrive will temporarily raise your heat level, making escaping more difficult the longer the chase goes on. However, once you DO escape, your heat level reverts to what it was prior to the chase starting.
Pleasantly surprised with the map and grip physics. You get very high burst boost for slowing down then punching it while exiting the corner. Really like how the single player racers challenge you and you can’t just grind a car up to race 2 miles ahead like Heat. Unbound’s version of Chicago is fantastic! Also the road width and variation is really great. Def glad I did the preorder (2 days prior to early release) as I’m able to get tips from creators on YT grinding the game. Really love your channel!
Playing the free trail was pretty fun actually I was enjoying myself in story mode played a bit of online but man the story was really good and I was really happy with the characters I just wish they had more car customization like engine blowers or turbos sticking out of your hood it would be fun to have crazy customization
@Lul Shield IF you like customizations a lot, yes. IF you’re into an arcade racing games (aside racing simulator), yes. But just don’t compare it with FH5 or Crew, cuz Unbound will surely get beaten up in few parts by those games. • Fewer car list • Multiplayer system • Unique car handling system • Lack variety of events • Unique progressing (either collecting cash or upgrading your cars)
i saw this one dude with a skyline GTR r35 kitted out in S class with a widebodykit and 2 big twin turbos sticking out of the hood, i dont think its gonna be in EVERY car but i think it would be on some other cars the american cars would be great to have those for the looks
Bring able to get notifications for races in the menu is one of the bad things for me. When editing a wrap you get the popup but because up and down are already bound to the wrap you can't decline or accept so you have to wait for it to go away after it times out. To probably pop up again if nobody joined. On full HD the invite covers scale and rotation values making wrap editing in multiplayer pretty stressful
Same with performance part tuning, can't see my stats. Basically have to leave multi-player, go back into that menu, then not go into a lobby but just edit the car and do what I gotta do, then find a game when I am ready
@@felixeur1276 good way to get around the issue but they just need to fix it that invites don't pop up over these submenus. It's fine when in the main menu, but these customization menus should be exempt. It gets annoying very quickly.
i don't think it's a bad design when you have different race every day within the week. The game actually encourages you to decide and plan more what race to tackle during that day. This way, it would make the player feel that each day has an identity not just a plain monday to sunday that the players go through. If the player likes to keep racing a certain event for an unlimited time, then he's just spamming the event which makes the game more bland a bit faster. Just like NFS heat.
I haven't played the game yet, but I really like what I've seen so far. I loved that you won't be able to spam the same race over and over again to get some money to customise your ride, although I think that selling used engine is ok, I didn't understand if I'd be able to swap Engine A, that I bought to car X, into another car if it uses the same engine (and, of course, you had another one to that car X). If you can't, is kinda punishing but ok. My only concern is if I'd like that cartoony visual effects or if I wouldn't see it at all because I'm too focused in the street trying to win a race or not to get busted, because its one thing watching people play the game and another playing yourself.
4:22 - I thought you gained heat from the cops as well, I have had a countdown timer that goes to the next heat level while in a chase. However it doesn't add to your overall heat multiplayer for when you bank it - you just get "escape money"
The heat you get from events determines what each new chase starts at - in an individual chase you can move up heat levels, but if you escape you drop back to the heat level gained from events
7:42 in online portion of the game the cars actually do stop in the middle of the road to get you to crash into them and if they dont stop in the middle of the road, they will slow down to match your speed or speed up accordingly OR they will spawn in the city when you need to do a 90 degree angle turn they will spawn on the far off lane where it is predicted that you will come out of the corner. in Storymode i havent noticed a lot of it... but in online its DEFINETLY there you just have to spend a bit more time in online
Love the note about individual races. I’d love to see a variety and some more rewarding races that you have to pay into. If entry fees and side bets make their way into online that would really add a lot
I actually like the weekly cycles cus it makes us to strategize our gameplay more than just repeating the highest rewards event over and over again. It's the best mechanic for me imo.
The part limitations, higher cost of upgrading, lower payouts, and addition of the day and night cycles tied into the races available is giving me that Tokyo Extreme. It makes the city feel more real than it is. They’re taking the franchise in a arcade/sim direction while not overcomplicating it too soon. Making money is gonna a game of skill and luck. Sign me up!
@@doeman35 the pedestrians, draw bridges and working transit, even if just small details make the world feel more lively, hell the peds even heckle you if you drive near or into them
I love this game and i wish they add more things in the next updates . I wish they add first person view from inside the car like in Forza Horizon it make the race more realistic.
On the driving effects topic: I was so against it at first, I thought it looked dumb... But now I find myself going after the collectibles BECAUSE I want to see more of the effects. I definitely enjoy them and think they're a good addition
there’s three things holding me back from getting this: the amount of events/races, the capacity of players in lobbies and groups, and bad drifting. Besides that, it looks great
Just picked up the game today and have only a few hours playing. I absolutely love it. The only problem I have is that I’m not really a fan of all the animated stuff. I don’t see why they wanna take a game that looks so awesome and realistic and then put that cartoon stuff all over it. However it is starting to grow on me a little. My son and I have been loyal players of NFS heat ever since it’s release and want to thank you for the time you spent making all those your using the wrong build videos. You are appreciated more than you know for that. Iv watched just about all of them and you’ve never steered us wrong and I’m looking forward to your unbound videos. Thanks again.
i LOVE the gameplay, in the story i was kind of disapointed that there were very few cutscenes i think there was more potential with the way they designed the characters. at this point its quite hard to find full racing lobbys that might change tho
The multiplayer portion of the game is a disaster. Only 16 racers, no cross server matchmaking for races, very little activities outside of races to do, very little races, open world is void and small. Need for Speed has a lot of work to do if it ever wants to be near the Horizon series.
This game missed the mark for me personally. Not a fan of how some things were implemented. The game to me feels like it's trying to rush the player through everything, instead of making you feel like taking your time, to soak it all in, & to get fully immersed in it. Not saying it's a bad game, just saying it's not for me.
Are there cars acquisition forced into multiplayer only? I personally don’t like multiplayer racing unless its solely with friends just a casual drive around, race and see builds if they play.
No, the progression is separate from the story, as far as I know only the free roam challenges, speed zones and stuff, and collectables are shared between the two.
It's my first NFS game in a very long time, I picked up the trial via EA Play. My 10 hours were very short lived, I got about an hour left and I'm really enjoying this game. It looks great, the driving is great, it's challenging, I love the art style. I'm probably gonna pick up the full version soon.
I’m thrilled with this release. I can’t believe how good it looks and silky smooth it runs. I’ve only seen a couple or 3 minor glitches. I love the effects. They are not out of place or overbearing, fitting the tone of the game and lending to, as mentioned, a feeling of exhilaration and intensity. The handling is a massive improvement from Heat. A little more challenging with more nuanced/complex mechanics for starts, boost and the interplay between grip and drift. The added slope to the learning curve is intuitive and once you get a feel for it, it’s so much more fun to engage. The “heaviness “ felt in the cars at the beginning of the game is really stability. You will fully appreciate that stability with the much faster cars. As mentioned, the handling is simply euphoric. At more ludicrous speeds, you feel much more in control, compared to Heat. Customizing is half the fun and it is fabulous. Dive in….you’ll see! I have to agree, the obligatory calendar advancement every time you enter the garage limits the races you can do (build multiple cars of different tiers, if you can spare the dough while keeping enough for qualifiers…. can change cars at the Meetups to fit the race tier) and that limits earning to a degree. It’s a little frustrating, but keeps the story line front and central, in a way. Mixed feelings about that. I’m just finishing up the 3rd week, heading into that qualifier…but so far, this is an epic installment. A real pleasure to play. Pure fun!
The AI get ridiculously fast early into the game. There were so many races where the only time I even saw the first place winner was at the start of the race lmfao
to be honest, after I bought the nfs heat, seeing the content this game has to offer I don't think it's worth the money or the time to grind... I wanted to like it.
Not Being able to Completely Remove the Cartoony Visual Effects is Why I am not Getting This Game Unfortunately I'll Get it in the Future if they add a Option to Completely Remove them
The game so far as first impressions is very well made. The quality has improved overall and since it's a new game, wonder how far they will go. I'm surprised I haven't hit a bug just yet (I'm sure there is). Could this be the game that brings back the NFS series? Who knows. We will see how it does. (I'm still surprise the amount of hate the game is getting though. Which is kind of sad. I thought this game delivers very well)
some things about it are just REALLY bad and can be a dealbreaker for some people, even if the game overall is way better than heat. for example, the only reason i had even fun with heat was being able to play with all of my friends who have the game. now we can just only have 4 players at once? like wtf, for what stupid reason? i think i would like the game, from what i've seen so far, but this one thing alone really is preventing me from buying it. and then like trigger also said, that you can't choose to do single races over and over... i'm not that guy who is into efficient money farming etc, but i really fucking hate when a game prevents me from doing what i really want, whenever i want it. as soon as i unlock something, i should get permanent acess to it, no matter what. especially in a RACING game, where it makes no sense to deny RACING TRACKS to passively lower the fun/motivation for doing fucking RACES, which is literally all the game is about.
When I started the game, I didn't like it bc I didn't understand the drift and grip mechanics and I thought they lied about them, but after playing more and actually configuring everything in settings I realized I was completely wrong and now I'm enjoying the goods of the game and trying to not pay attention to the bads.
Can you do a video with just you driving casually around the entire map? Just showcasing the entire map. I will buy this game soon just waiting for updates seeing pop ups just watching gameplay. I'm just started playing calipso p. I'm not bought on this game yet.
The “negatives” about the events is actually a win for me cause i felt that getting money was too easy in Heat, actually everything was really easy in Heat, so everything they changed im actually ok with, even the Day and night thing
I feel like cars stopping at intersections was a good thing😭. It adds more of a challenge, and also, wouldn't you stop your car if you saw a Pagani Huayra coming towards you at 380km/h??
this game is so surprisingly good i bought without looking up reviews expecting it to be awful(i mean EAs name is on the game😂) but was very pleasantly surprised.
It’s so hard to earn money in this game. They’re forcing you to have to do all the races but they make you pay a buy in amount so your payout is even less. Makes zero sense.
Another con of this game is that crash cam is too exaggerated and some are just unnecessary. We definitely need more events and more ways of earning money in solo or mp, it can be grindy but let's not make it too boring after u grind it for so long
As a player who has been playing need for speed since playstation 1 who is in his 30s, I haven't paid full price for a need for speed game since underground 2. That said I will eventually pick this up when its around $15 on steam sale in a year or so. Hopefully by then they have fixed any issues, increased the accessibility of cash, and hopefully you will have some great content out by then as for car recommendations/builds.
Its a shame that not all cars get the same treatment as the more popular cars in term of customization. Im expecting each cars to have legendary custom.
It would have been nice, but there's like, 120+ vehicles and many of these Legendary skins are total redesigns of the geometry. Still if they reuse the Payback engine, they could expand them more in the next game.
Short answer no. The single player grind is worse than heats. These idiots are probably planning on adding mtx a month after launch to keep it out of reviews.
Do you seriously prefer something like forza grinding? Because if that's the case I don't even know what to say to you I actually felt more meaningful and careful the grinding on need for speed unbound you have to save some money for race entry's and to upgrade your car it makes it more pleasing and entertaining but that's my opinion
@Mystic Flex Forzas grind is just right in my opinion. If I wanted to grind this much I would play an mmo or free to play trash. No thanks. My only annoyance is I was dumb enough to trust EA. Never again. I'll take this as a lesson.

Map graphics glitches, map MISSING SECTIONS, the minimap vanishing, the game lagging horrendously in both driving and cutscenes, car levels resetting down to the lowest for no apparent reason, the game CHEATING(being passed easily by NPCs when going flat out in a car that is maxed in its level).... And that's not counting the utterly horrendous "cartoon" garbage in the races. I can see it in the cutscenes, it makes no difference there, but not in the actual driving. No, this game is not, in any way, worth buying. Happily for me, I didn't pay anything for it(no, I got it legally, just not for money), because that would have been a massive waste of money.
criterion will never beat Blackbox masterpiece, MW2005... they just have one thing to add yet they still screwed up the tvr_cerb engine sound for bmw m3 gtr unbound ver.
Note: The thing about heat increasing when cops are chasing you is a bit off. If you do a Chase long enough where cops are on you and reinforcements are called in the heat for that specific chase actually increases. When you escape that chase though your heat reverts back to the original value after your races. For example if I had 3.5 heat and I had the cops chasing me and they were able to call and reinforcements the heat is actually 4.5 and it shows it at the top of the screen. Once the chase is over then the heat reverts back to 3.5.
I completely agree! I'm 16hrs in so far and the driving anime style effects feel very very perfect, smooth and satisfying once "you" are playing the game for yourself!
Online needs a lot of work for sure. If you want to really build a car up and replace the engine, you need like $300,00-$500,000 to do so. With three-race playlists only paying like $25,000, you need to do like 60 races and win all the playlists to build one single car. That’s insane.
I recently grabbed it on sale for 35€. I'm pleasantly surprised! I even like those "tag" effects, which i was really not to sure about when it came out. The map is great, the graphics are good and as you said, the experience is awesome!
The thing that i love about this game is that I DON'T have to have to max out every single car and just be very fast. I love the A, A+ races even B class feels so "real" because who would actually drive a 1000hp volvo amazon irl?
I don’t think the day of the week exclusive events are a bad thing but just something that’s different that I need to get used to. It makes it a bit more lifelike in that sense which I believe that’s what they were trying to achieve with the schedule. Money may be a bit of an issue but I didn’t know I could sell engines and parts in heat until I maxed a few cars (never tried but that’s on me). I also live for the grind and I think taking longer to make more money will give me time to improve on my races.
Love it so far. Finished the campaign and working on multiplayer now. just wish you could teleport to the garage or the meets instead of driving to them every time
I’m loving the game. What I don’t like is that the server lobbies are too small u always end up either racing you and 1 other person and payouts end up not being as much is it could potentially be if the race would of filled up.
I really want this NFS, from the first time they announced it😍🔥Hopefully I get it as soon as possible, because in my country is so expensive, even as standard edition 🤑 Obviously some people love the design and art stile and others not, this is the risk nfs takes👍 Seeing others playing, I think... Only thing I want to be fixed is the amount of money as rewards 💸
To be honest I was very against the driving effects and thought it was silly but after playing the trial I can say my opinion has totally changed, I actually can't imagine driving without those effects now - it does add another visual impact to the game and just suits the overall game itself.
Man the"only" thing I don't like is that the same people that purchased the palace edition and those who didn't are all in the same boat we gotta unlock or "purchase " the tier vehicles regardless so it was no point in buying the palace edition if we wasn't going to get the cars we payed for for free
I think you left out the biggest pro, the map. It's a really really nice map, possibly the nicest since Hot Pursuit (2010), possibly even better than that and on the level of the fondly remembered NFSs. Previous NFS games since then I would have just played because they're NFS, this is the first time the game would have caught my attention without the attached legacy. It just looks so legitimately fun to race on.
@@carsinmars9446 I really wouldn't say it's comparable. It's still a brake-to-drift-corner world like everything Criterion and Ghost has done since joining EA whereas Paradise comes from before that was a thing. To be honest though I am basing it on everything I've seen of the game. I don't actually have it myself. (do have Paradise and all previous NFSs though) The world has more character than previously with ACTUAL shortcuts, optional jumps and more distinct locations. And whilst you may be able to take out the cops in a Criterion-esque manner the same is not true of your fellow racers like in Paradise and even Hot Pursuit (2010). Whilst there may be an event class called Takedown it's not the fun Burnout wrecking race that Paradise had but more of a gymkhana stage. Personally I wouldn't compare them at all. The only thing I would compare Unbound to is NFSs since Most Wanted (2012).
So we’re not gonna talk About the fact that I have to do 90 races to unlock a car to just be able to even buy it? Not to mention the fact I can only do a race if someone else joins and over half the time no one joins it’s honestly a stupid system
One thing I don't like is when you do the high heat missions to get the car somewhere. Well before you can literally pull off there's already about 4+ cops right next to you. One it's unrealistic as hell and also takes the enjoyment out of it entirely and just makes the cops and inconvenience you can't be bothered with. How it should work is have a timer but got to try avoid getting seen with cops everywhere or shortly after pulling away then the cops get notified.
This NFS is heading towards the right way... if only we could have a similar system to the midnight club series I think that would make the perfect game.
i've had traffic cars stop in the middle of the road. I was making a turn and calculated that I would avoid a traffic car by sliding behind it at the rate it was moving, but as I started drifting through the intersection, it just stopped once it got in the middle of my intended course. I feel like cars will just stop/attempt to stop if you come within a certain radius around them.
Anyone know in the story mode I bought a couple cars and you have to have a car for every tier but I can’t understand how I can’t get a b tier car when I upgrade it jumps to a+
Loved this first look review, but i for one like the fact that races have a week cycle. Makes u feel like being a racer in a league like nfsu2 had. Probably my childhood memories acting up again haha. Loving this game, in the same class as underground 2 and most wanted
4:25 Just want to add that the heat does increase during long chases. You will sometimes get a timer at the top of the screen after which the heat will increase if you have not escaped.
You know, I never had a long chase. I appreciate this. Thanks!
@@MilitiaGamingCommunity lol
It damages my ego profoundly to say I think I need to bump the difficulty down to relaxed to have any chance 🤷🏻♂️

Bro I thought i was the only one in the beginning your car is slower then it looks ive been playing for a few hours and dang its in challenging
That will ruin all the risk/banking the money concept.
Honestly the way they have a chopper in the sky and too many cops in one spot, they need to work on that honestly, I feel like I can’t get anywhere in this damn bc I’m always having to avoid cops and that takes too much time to reach a destination
@@ShadowSlayss If your are too afraid of them or your car is not high enough, stop at heat level 4.
Had same issue till i got a tier S car.
Actually, this is a good point
I actually found more joy in doing the smaller races in Heat. Typically taking a car that was underpowered and seeing how far I could take it, and only upgrading it to a realistic performance level. For example, taking the 180sx and only upgrading it to a 160 performance level and seeing how far I could take it.
@@ChadVoos202 if only the game incentivised that style of play, that would be too close to a good idea for EA to be on board lol
I agree, a multiplier would be nice in order to make more money and get a reward for escaping a heat 5 chase

I like that there's actual pacing in the game and that you can't cheese the game by doing the same race over and over again.
But you can cheese it with cheat engine for money so fuck em lol
How is that a cheese?
Even in heat it was only worth repeating max level races twice because the rewards decrease. And even then, that’s an intended gameplay mechanic.

this game feels pretty retro and i really like that. theyve made so many changes and made the racing so competitive. one really good thing i like is how the drifts are harder to master and slow u down more depending on ur angle, makes it necessary to perfect drifts

Exactly I luv what they did..
The trailers made the effects look worse than they actually are.

@@johnnymetonymic … that’s why you set the game to relaxed difficulty.
@Brawler I hate that too. How about not gating me with the tier system? Make the races that get easier when i upgrade worth less money like every other game. An hour of running from the cops, for 10 minutes of racing
This is like a mix between carbon run and 2005 mw now the raced should each pay money would make it better in my opinion

I thought NFS was dead but this game honestly seems like a push back in the right direction, back towards Underground, Most Wanted '05, and Carbon. The cell shading FX really feels like it is calling back to the identity that Underground shot for. And the fact the police chases actually have depth to them? The FX absolutely gives this series an identity to stand out against the rest of the racing game crowd. Hopefully they continue with it.
This game isnt "filled with people"
Theres just 10 cars on the road and superhuman pedestrians.
Lol I'd you want harder cops just put the game harder... simple dude it's bot rocket science
would you say you enjoyed just as much as Payback and Heat?
I’ve heard the online multiplayer doesn’t have any cops and that’s really making me reconsider even buying the game that was my favorite part of heat doing heat 5 races with friends online
I've heard that they will add it later but not in launch
its gonna be added soon
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the time you did get to play!
I'm not 100% sure but I believe you can increase heat during a chase by allowing them to get reinforcements. I screwed up enough to allow that and I think the heat went up
I think it comes from hitting the cop cars. You gain like half a heat level when you hit them to engage a chase
@Lul Shield I'd honestly say yes I just don't have my money with me rn to buy it but for me it was quite the thrill I needed
@Lul Shield IF you like customizations a lot, yes. IF you’re into an arcade racing games (aside racing simulator), yes. But just don’t compare it with FH5 or Crew, cuz Unbound will surely get beaten up in few parts by those games.

Did y’all know your brake disks glow when you use them a lot
4:22 - I thought you gained heat from the cops as well, I have had a countdown timer that goes to the next heat level while in a chase. However it doesn't add to your overall heat multiplayer for when you bank it - you just get "escape money"
The timer under your heat level is a countdown until backup arrives, so just more units join the chase
well you do gain heat from the cops but just temporary
That’s fair.
Any idea when they release an update for multiplayer that adds night and free roam cops?
prolly when the game releases in a few hours
The part limitations, higher cost of upgrading, lower payouts, and addition of the day and night cycles tied into the races available is giving me that Tokyo Extreme. It makes the city feel more real than it is. They’re taking the franchise in a arcade/sim direction while not overcomplicating it too soon. Making money is gonna a game of skill and luck. Sign me up!
This city is kinda real tho. It's supposed to be Chicago.

there’s three things holding me back from getting this: the amount of events/races, the capacity of players in lobbies and groups, and bad drifting.
I like how the game doesn't give you everything in the beginning and that you actually have to play the game, adds so much more replayability that way
i LOVE the gameplay, in the story i was kind of disapointed that there were very few cutscenes i think there was more potential with the way they designed the characters. at this point its quite hard to find full racing lobbys that might change tho
Not saying it's a bad game, just saying it's not for me.
its trying to send you to MP where you can give more money to EA
They finally put the Eclipse back in. That was my go to in UG2.
Also the car unlocks are easy to do, even if you just play casually
It's my first NFS game in a very long time, I picked up the trial via EA Play. My 10 hours were very short lived, I got about an hour left and I'm really enjoying this game. It looks great, the driving is great, it's challenging, I love the art style. I'm probably gonna pick up the full version soon.
I just did, the palace version for 50 bucks.🔥💯 will be my racer for the next few years to master
Pure fun!
Haptic feedback?
They will probably sell you in-game credits for real money later. It's EA after all.
Facts. I remember criterion kinda did that in MW2012. Where u payed money and say have all the parts unlocked.
Why did you buy a game that you were expecting to be awful?
@@MrM4rvelous Probably to shit all over it. He even says it has EA’s name on the cover.
@@brawler5760 facts
@@MrM4rvelous ever heard of steam refunds my dudee
Like r34
It would have been nice, but there's like, 120+ vehicles and many of these Legendary skins are total redesigns of the geometry. Still if they reuse the Payback engine, they could expand them more in the next game.
Yep, Unbound will be my first NFS buy since Most Wanted. Thanks for the great review, bro. 🤙🏻
NFS Heat is better
The game is simply not worth it.
Bro imho every need for speed game since the Xbox 360 days hasn’t been worth a full price tag.
I didn’t like the look of the screen effects but when I started playing I liked them, it makes it feel like the car has more personality
Huzzah. You are not selected for a prize but I agree.
Short answer no. The single player grind is worse than heats. These idiots are probably planning on adding mtx a month after launch to keep it out of reviews.
Do you seriously prefer something like forza grinding? Because if that's the case I don't even know what to say to you
I actually felt more meaningful and careful the grinding on need for speed unbound you have to save some money for race entry's and to upgrade your car it makes it more pleasing and entertaining but that's my opinion
@Mystic Flex Forzas grind is just right in my opinion. If I wanted to grind this much I would play an mmo or free to play trash. No thanks. My only annoyance is I was dumb enough to trust EA. Never again. I'll take this as a lesson.
@@robloxm72 Byeeee u ain't no NFS..... if only I had the Money to Buy a PS5 N NFS UNBOUND I would have n Trash this Bitch Up 🔥 but here in Nigeria it's cost ASF 🙂💯
@@Mr_Quadrillion piss of kid.
@@robloxm72 lmao Forza has no fucking grind, they throw everything at your face after 2 hours, seems like you never had to achieve anything in your life if you think Unbound and Heat are grindy
The changes seem to prevent speed running and dominating the competition. I like it
criterion will never beat Blackbox masterpiece, MW2005... they just have one thing to add yet they still screwed up
the tvr_cerb engine sound for bmw m3 gtr unbound ver.
Man I'm playing this on relaxing mode and even the npc racers feel rubberbandy.
Finished the campaign and working on multiplayer now. just wish you could teleport to the garage or the meets instead of driving to them every time
yea hopefully they add fast traveling
really wish they’d add the heat system into online:/
Love the quality bro! Looking forward to the driving tips vid
Working on it now.
I’m loving the game. What I don’t like is that the server lobbies are too small u always end up either racing you and 1 other person and payouts end up not being as much is it could potentially be if the race would of filled up.
I really want this NFS, from the first time they announced it😍🔥Hopefully I get it as soon as possible, because in my country is so expensive, even as standard edition 🤑
Obviously some people love the design and art stile and others not, this is the risk nfs takes👍
Seeing others playing, I think... Only thing I want to be fixed is the amount of money as rewards 💸
This game reminds me so much of NFS Underground. I loved that game back in college, been having a blast with Unbound.
To be honest I was very against the driving effects and thought it was silly but after playing the trial I can say my opinion has totally changed, I actually can't imagine driving without those effects now - it does add another visual impact to the game and just suits the overall game itself.
I felt the same way about the effects until I played the game.
looks like shit
Man the"only" thing I don't like is that the same people that purchased the palace edition and those who didn't are all in the same boat we gotta unlock or "purchase " the tier vehicles regardless so it was no point in buying the palace edition if we wasn't going to get the cars we payed for for free
5:40 I don't want to be an asshole but I couldn't hold myself...that was baaaaad bro and the way you just keep going had me dead😂😂
Hey man, would you say it's similar to burnout paradise if you played that? Really hoping it feels similarly arcadey
(do have Paradise and all previous NFSs though)
The world has more character than previously with ACTUAL shortcuts, optional jumps and more distinct locations.
@@88Opportunist really appreciate the reply man, defo gonna pick it up on sale
Great review. This looks like the need for speed underground sequel that we've been waiting for.
i've had traffic cars stop in the middle of the road. I was making a turn and calculated that I would avoid a traffic car by sliding behind it at the rate it was moving, but as I started drifting through the intersection, it just stopped once it got in the middle of my intended course. I feel like cars will just stop/attempt to stop if you come within a certain radius around them.
Anyone know in the story mode I bought a couple cars and you have to have a car for every tier but I can’t understand how I can’t get a b tier car when I upgrade it jumps to a+
From what I could tell from Pants' playthrough, multiplayer is great for padding that bank account
I just finished the campaign and I wanna say that the traffic cars have stopped in the middle of the road for me. Not very often but enough to notice
Loved this first look review, but i for one like the fact that races have a week cycle. Makes u feel like being a racer in a league like nfsu2 had. Probably my childhood memories acting up again haha. Loving this game, in the same class as underground 2 and most wanted
