Yeah, except for today's UI is not designed for portrait mode. I guess it would make more sense if they put whole mechanism in screen housing and make it scroll horizontally
Could be pretty good for reading long articles or documents, office work stuff. Also a callback to the 4:3 ratio that Thinkpads kept on when everything was moving to widescreen.
I like this idea. Sometimes when you working outside of office there is lack of space for text on the screen. Maybe some day they can show a two dimmensions rollable screen (somehow).

Unfortunately, Tim Cook(or crooked) is carrying only about money unlike steve jobs and apple is lagging behind for years now in design department laptops, phones, pretty much everything. 😒
