ہم کو مٹا سکے یہ زمانے میں دم نہیں
ہم سے زمانہ خود ہے زمانے سے ہم نہیں
بے فائدہ الم نہیں بے کار غم نہیں
توفیق دے خدا تو یہ نعمت بھی کم نہیں
میری زباں پہ شکوۂ اہل ستم نہیں
مجھ کو جگا دیا یہی احسان کم نہیں
یا رب ہجوم درد کو دے اور وسعتیں
دامن تو کیا ابھی مری آنکھیں بھی نم نہیں
شکوہ تو ایک چھیڑ ہے لیکن حقیقتاً
تیرا ستم بھی تیری عنایت سے کم نہیں
اب عشق اس مقام پہ ہے جستجو نورد
سایہ نہیں جہاں کوئی نقش قدم نہیں
ملتا ہے کیوں مزہ ستم روزگار میں
تیرا کرم بھی خود جو شریک ستم نہیں
مرگ جگرؔ پہ کیوں تری آنکھیں ہیں اشک ریز
اک سانحہ سہی مگر اتنا اہم نہیں
