Hey Olly! We got a 65 few months ago a complete rust bucket we spent £3,000 restoring her and we sold her for £11,452 - They really are a good tractor definitely worth a keeper!
I have the mk1 and it is used for all sorts from front end loader work slashing and also a pto chipper! Like you I've been slowly refurbishing it so I get another 20 years of work out of it ! Worth the time and effort! And yes practically all parts are available 👌
What a nice old tractor! Your 65's serial number starts with SNDYW. Letter W means this 65 is an original Multi-Power model, which is now missing some parts. Top speed with Multi-Power switched to high position is about 19 mph, according an old sales brochure. I have similar tractor myself.
I was brought up on 135's, 35's and a 65.........the 65 brakes were not very predictable and the power steering was also rather prone to working one way but not the other, think 70/80's Zetor to drive! The 135 has it every time for certain👍👍
Great video Olly. She’s a tidy machine for sure. Good idea on the log splitter and plough for it. Be a nice winter project to do stuff on it. Keep up the great work
I owned a MF in the late 50's - early 60's and mine was equipped with a front loader with detachable snow plow, bucket and fork lift. I made a lot of weekend/snowstorm cash while I was in high school. A great little tractor.
I used to drive the MF65, mk2, on the Mendip Hills, south of Bristol UK. The only reason for Big tractors, was due to very poor crop prices. So farmers were encouraged to buy them, because they also found that it saved them the small cost of wages for workers? As we are going back to environmentally better farming, the small tractors will become more popular. I used to plough 10 acers, on one tank of fuel per day, on the MF65. A very useable Tractor. The MF 35X is also very good and will do most of the work that the MF65 will do,? 😬Have Fun.
I have one of these! I use it for slashing on a small cattle farm in Australia. Keeps conking out on me though, it's currently sitting out in a paddock. :(
It’s still looking good!! Those people with more knowledge than I have on the engines seem to suggest that’s it ok but probably in need of some use which will/may stop the sticking piston rings if that’s what’s wrong with it if indeed there is anything wrong at all. But having seen this second video a new rim and remount the tyre and sort out the bonnet, hydraulics etc and you’ll have a really useful tractor. Is there an additive that you can use to maintain upper cylinder lubrication as you won’t be using it that much? I’m familiar with classic cars but not tractors and the additive I use for those is no good when added to diesel but I believe it is made. It will help keep the engine running as sweetly as it does now.
Looks and sounds great for its age, just clutch looks quite worn which isn't surprising. Would be a shame to replace the grill as it's original and barely damaged, should be possible to get it straightened out almost like new.
The front lights are missing too. If it weren't fitted with lights, then the mudguards wouldn't have any either. You can clearly see the holes where they used to be.
Yes drove a 65 lots of times you should be able to buy the mudguards still think they may be the same as a Massey 35top links you can buy from e bay there are Massey parts supplies around still
Just my humble opinion but I wouldn't restore it cosmetically, taken years to get like that and the fabricated farm spec parts make that tractor unique. Mudguards could have rot cut out and be repaired and would be better than a lot of reproduction ones. All it needs is a good steam clean and treating with some owatrol to protect the paint.
Yeah ! At least, there is NO computer in this 65 ! All mechanical machine. I own a DB880 Selectamatic farm tractor. They are heavier than the MF tractors. But Perkins engines are simply unbeatable. And if I had to go back in time, I would buy a MF135 instead. Lot more reliable.

Really appreciate you being honest and telling us the prices etc

Both the Rims and Mudguards can be easily fixed and kept original.
Exactly what I was thinking you lose all the character by replacing everything
Good thing about these old tractors is the fact that they are easy to fix and there is good support for parts
Great video Olly. She’s a tidy machine for sure. Good idea on the log splitter and plough for it. Be a nice winter project to do stuff on it. Keep up the great work
The 65s are one of Masseys best 👌
In the Rosedale valley in East lancs, I now have a one sixty five also a mark one that I have used for twenty six years to the present day .

You could put the haybob on the back when you next do silage next year

Mighty 65. bought one last month. 4200eu. Massey ferguson is the only classic
What a lovely old tractor, sounds great. Get shot of that green thing and buy another Massey!
Could you not cut a couple inches off the hose and remount the nozzle? A hose shop would be able to crimp a new fitting.
The clamp is original on them on the exhaust
Great video. Keep up the good work.
I do have the same in fiji .the nose bit is available in England
Lovely buy olly will you be putting headlights back on and original front wheels ?
Yes 👍
I love this Olly. I have a Massey Ferguson 35. Now i thinking to buy also a MF 65. So Thanks. Haha. Keep up the Nice Video’s 👌🏻
35 lovely tractor, 65 also, Thanks!
Very popular here in the States
Olly, a Valtra N series or F series are quite good for smaller farms
will you be going to cove hive plough day??i think you said something about it in another video
Looks and sounds great for its age, just clutch looks quite worn which isn't surprising. Would be a shame to replace the grill as it's original and barely damaged, should be possible to get it straightened out almost like new.
Nice can't wait to see it work 👍
I used the mark one for eleven years on my small farm
Hi illy so glad u got the Massey just need a furgie now
Ar you going to buy the ih that you were talking about buying
My cousin had an 85 MF Back in the day. I drove it a couple of times. The oldest Massey we ever had was a180 MF. It was a row crop not utility.
The front lights are missing too. If it weren't fitted with lights, then the mudguards wouldn't have any either. You can clearly see the holes where they used to be.
Love your Videos!! Can you do a trip to Mc Donalds with the 65?
Hahaa, we will see
yes you can put a 3 furrow reversable plough on the 65 and a 2 furrow reversable plough 135
Great buy olly 👍
great video olly
Love the videos allways watching you keep up the work mate
I’m a John Deere man too but I want a 135 now
You can get the whole brand new Nose for 400 pounds includes 2 grills top and bottom front-end two side panels
Yes drove a 65 lots of times you should be able to buy the mudguards still think they may be the same as a Massey 35top links you can buy from e bay there are Massey parts supplies around still
We have a John deere 1640 that would be a nice little tractor for on the side.
I feel like that ending picture would be good as your channel banner art
Yes!
Olly, don't get a ferguson plough, any loose straw or trash and they block up, get a ransomes .
Love from Latvia!
amasing vid olly
Must be nice having your own fuel pump at the moment haha
Now that's what I imagine when I think of a tractor.
it would make a great video to have a craftsperson repair the wings and tinwork. everyone seems to buy new ones anyone can do that just saying
should fit a roll bar for safety. and a foot trottle
What about a Ford 4 or 5000 and and a David brown 1210 995 or a 996 all nice classic tractors
Just my humble opinion but I wouldn't restore it cosmetically, taken years to get like that and the fabricated farm spec parts make that tractor unique. Is it a mk1 65 or mkll
Mk2
it was my first tractor to drive
That clamp is on my tractors exhaust and it is original and your hydraulic hose connector is not original
We have one
Hello
U need lights on the 65
How is it a long day
Don't buy a log splits it doesn't have a any power for it. I have a 3 furore plowing
New follower here. That MF looks & sounds great. Shouldn't take much to get it into mint condition. Cheers.
