      Sometimes it is, depends on how big the payout is…usually white collar crimes are the way to go, depending on the situation, you could find yourself with a LOT of money after spending 2-5 years in prison. Idk if it’s worth the it for me, but I definitely can see how some ppl think it is

      @@kiawas1 For sure, but they don’t always end up repaying as much as they actually stole. There are plenty of cases where they came back with more money than they started with. I do believe it’s usually because they took the money they stole and reinvested it, opened businesses, or something like that to make even more money but either way, they still come out with a better life than if they wouldn’t have done the crime. Some cases are just hard to calculate how much they actually managed to steal and even after lawyer fees and restitution the criminal still has a large amount of money hidden away.

    Man, I worked for Wendy's when I was a teen in the late 90s early 2000s management was doing this fake employee's. I quit working there a month after I left they still had me on the payroll and clocking in. I went to headquarters and they were the one that told me I was still employed there and they did nothing.

    A reminder: wage theft is one of the most frequent crimes employers commit on employees. As of June 2023, it has been reported by the Economic Policy Institute that an estimated ~$50B is stolen from workers across multiple industries annually. What this manager did is just a drop in the bucket in regards to the totality of money that is stolen by employees and potential employees, but just know that this is just one of a laundry list of other methods wages are stolen. It's like pulling teeth to raise minimum wage, salaries in general, but then you have all this going on...crazy.

    When i worked at Macdonalds, our manager use to let us load up on bags of nuggets and boxes of 10and1s. She knew we were all struggling at home. She would write it off as loss. That was 25 years ago and she is now retired. We use to call her Patricia Pan. She even encouraged us to look for better jobs.
