  • This December was a little different than in past years in terms of the weather. We mainly stayed above 0C, getting as high as 10C. The only snow we really saw is that 8 second video clip I included. It stopped snowing when I finished filming. We had days with sunshine, but we also had a lot of rain. During the last week of December it was foggy every day. Christmas Day was so foggy that we called it a white Christmas, even though we didn't have any snow. Typically we get a snowfall in December, that will melt before Christmas Day. But, the snow puts you in that Christmas spirit.
Otherwise, the city is in full holiday mode. You will find all of the downtown buildings with their light displays; sales at the mall; holiday themed bars; ice skating; and special markets around the city.
On Christmas Day many things are closed, however the Toronto Zoo and (I think) the Aquarium are open. As well as movie theatres and selective restaurants. Stores open again on the 26th with even more sales that last the whole week.
On New Years Eve Toronto had a big fireworks show along the waterfront. But it was raining and cold and I chose not to go. But a free even for everyone to enjoy.

Really nice, kinda gives a New York vibe, which I guess is why many shows are filmed in Toronto, but portrayed as other cities in America.
