Jimmy! Are you still there after 7 years? How does the reticle work when you mount it to a tripod? Can it be rotated or do you have to mount it sideways using something like a ball head mount?
Jimmy is indeed still here! You can get him if you call us up at 800-426-0048 and hit extension 5 and ask for him. If you get a tripod that has the ability to flip to the side, then the reticle works perfect. Our Pro GT is an example - it has a base that can be loosened and turned 90 degrees upward to work with the reticle's orientation in this optic
Thx for your replay. I have another question regarding the radicals in the Recon does it match the Viper PST 4-16x50FFP (MRAD) radical in respect to the use as a spotting scope ?
The reticle designs are not identical but they are both laid out in MRAD subtensions so you can measure with them similarly (in the same units of measure). Thanks again! - Jimmy
It will fit onto it but somewhat loosely. It is not a perfect fit but it definitely does work. The reticle focuses as well. I would only use the doubler with the Recon R/T when it is absolutely necessary. Thanks for the question and let us know if you have any others. - Jimmy
Compared to the new Viper HD binoculars, the Viper HD's have a bit better optical quality. Compared to the old Viper HD binoculars, they're about similar.
@@VortexOpticsUSAOne more question I have vision in one eye only. Low light performance or rt 10x50 vs Viper HD 10x42 binos. Also FOV with only one eye in binos. Thanks for quick response.I will probabley with viper binos as they were excellent in the shop. But monocular looks intresting also.
@@chrisranyner4890 Again, the Viper HD's will likely perform better in low light. You would actually get better optics in a monocular out of our RECCE Pro monocular if you're looking for a single tube optic that has nearly the performance of the Viper HD binos. Hope this helps!

Look like a good unit: Does the 2x doubler fit on the Vortex Recon 15X50RT?

Hey why is there only 15x50 unit now when I look on the website?
Can we use it as Rangefinder?
