It does annoy me, when people think they know your dog better than you know him yourself. Everyone can see you love him and he loves you, why would you want to do anything that upsets him? That's my rant over with, by the way great video.

what a brilliant video. he might not say much but his eyes do all the talking just like my two collies. yes the evidence is conclusive. he is a biker dog for sure and a well loved pooch. I imagine you and he are inseparable. love the bike too. I've been a biker for many years and I envy your lifestyle. I would love to follow in your footsteps but sadly my wife does not share my minimalistic enthusiasm. she would live in a residential caravan on a site but that totally defeats the object of the exercise since once you add up site and pitch fees it can end up more expensive than living at home. still I'm one who lives in hope. maybe one day she will give in. in the meantime I will continue to dream and enjoy your blogs. much appreciated indeed.

At the supermarket car park I saw a big tough leather clad biker pull up on his harley with a beautiful standard poodle sitting regally in a milk crate strapped to the back. No one could ever accuse you of being mean to your Dougal. You give up so much human experiences to accommodate him (like the majority of dog owners) but he gives back as much as you give up if not more! After a number of bad experiences at so called 'dog friendly' B&Bs we bought ourselves a little motorhome so we no longer have to put the dog in the car while we have breakfast, or have separate breakfasts or miss out on breakfast completely. Loved the video, look forward to watching many more
Congrats on the Moho! But imagine travelling alone with your dog in these kinds of places where you can't share the responsibility of looking after the pooch while the other one eats... vans work even better for solo dog people! Enjoy :)
That's one very happy dog! I'm assuming that the carrier is specially designed to carry dogs. Dougal is obviously pretty smart, did it take long for him to get used to travelling on the bike?
Dougal is a might fine boy, you've certainly struck gold with him. The first time of seeing him on the back, I wondered if he had ever attempted to escape? He looks so cute and never fails to make me smile! A smashing vlog, uplifting and humorous as usual, Gosh how 9m6s flies in the reverie.
Thanks Simon! No, he doesn't try to escape, but he shuffles if he wants my attention. That's how I know he prefers his head on the left side, not the right side. I thought it was because of passing traffic, but driving in the Netherlands put paid to that theory!
Yeah- would have loved to try this with our old golden retriever- I think we would have caused chaos on the lanes of Norfolk and I would have ended up in hospital Clearly Dougal absolutely loves it

LOL this is a 6 year old Dougal, approx, if he is 12 now - so different to see him chase like crazy after his toy...definitely was eager to get on the motorbike!
When I was a boy (long time ago) I had a Jack Russel bitch. She loved riding in anything, from the car to the wheelbarrow. She was very happy to go in the basket on the front of my mother's bicycle. I also once saw a biker couple with a smaller Jack Russel, who would take theirs in a modified tank bag, and he was tucked in behind the screen. He clearly was very happy to settle down there. Clearly, Dougal loves to go with you on your bike, and it seems other dogs may also be happy to be biker dogs!

I have that same bag to take my dogs on long hiking trips (they go in it when tired). And all I have to do is pull that bag out of the closet and they go berserk with excitement trying to clamber into the bag... no doubt that dogs like to go with you!!!!
I do not know Andrew why some people get concerned about it. Here is Australia the farmers are using motorbike to move sheep or cattle with dogs. For all the people concerned about animals and safety, my dog’s vet told me to always have pets restrained in a bin or harness and seatbelt when traveling in a vehicle, she said she has heard too many terrible stories.😢

Yes, I had Dougal as a pup and now he is 6. He is a Jack Russel cross border collie. Cheers!

Yes, it's a custom carrier. It took him about 6 months of gradual training before riding the motorbike.

Indeed I did! It's a DJI Mavic Pro. Some of the footage is speeded up though as I limited my speed to around 15-20mph.
