I already knew the original and it's fantastic. In Dimash's cover I hear sadness and in Koji Tamaki's version I hear pain. Wonderfully emotionally performed!
Dimesh is too pretentious
Dimash needs some ageing and feeling pain, he is too young, so focused more on singing not delivering the text. It is also difficoult for him to feel, because japanese is not his mother language.@@hellowingy

He was not that old when he did this song. He is 64 years old now.

What different takes on this brilliant song of Koji Tamaki. Dimash sings with so much nuance to a parting lover, sadly quietly pleading, pointing out the stupidity of losing something wonderful, angry yelling and finally praying with sad resignation. Koji sings as a wise old man seeing things slip away, perhaps a lover but also a long fabulous career, this beloved song that he sings in such a rough and ageing voice, time and life itself. Both versions so touching and full of the experiene of life. Extraordinary. Love both versions.

Hi Fil. Great reaction as usual to such an amazing performance. He was the most famous singer in Japan in the 80's. His rock band was called Anzen Chitai. After that he went solo and still sings to this day. Listen to his song Melody. It is also amazing.

I like Dimash version so much, it is overwhelmingly beautiful.
I can feel the pain of yearning on Tamaki's voice, it has another marvelous color, it's almost like he is painting a nostalgic landscape. He expresses emotions in other way, almost crying as one who has lived with that loneliness for a long time.

Fil, when I first heard this song by Koji Tamaki it left me in tears...so much emotion. It is incredible and he does look SO wise. He truly feels that woman's pain of rejection from a country and fans she loved SO much!! It is such a shame that there has ever been such prejudice and that it still exists in our world.

Dimash is a really amazing and very technical singer.. Koji Tamaki, a wonderful singer on his own right, makes you feel the pain.
People usually (generalisation) prefer the song version that they first hear however this is one of the very few rare occasions whereby I absolutely adore the original.

- Actually, if you look at how he performed Koi no Yokan and Ikanaide many decades ago, back in the 80's on the original album, he was quite awesome even back then. I believe he always has focused on expressing the emotions as authentically as possible, and that he has a special talent for it. Nothing beats talent + effort

In my opinion this song is beautiful and very touching only sung by Dimash..The original sung by Koji Tamaki makes me bored and fall asleep and his voice is annoying and unpleasant to me..While the wonderful and touching version sung by Dimash with his unique and divine voice excites me and makes me cry like a baby..Dimash is simply and absolutely unbeatable and unsurpassed..King Angel Dimash Forever
I cannot disagree more. Dimash is a pompous singer who forces himself into his song. He doesn't have much subtlety to his singing. He is either too much or too little and it never feels natural. Koji Tamaki on the other hand has refined his singing over 50 years and has transformed throughout the decades. It's like comparing an ancient Samurai to a cosplayer.
