We can not solve the problem by understanding it, but understanding it will help us better solve it.

Did you know about any simulator for creating a bacnet device with TCP connection? Can you please me with this?

Thanks for this. In a nut shell whats the difference between BACnet and modbus? Which one is more superior and more widely used, and can they be used together?

Thank you Ayoob, we are happy you enjoyed the video! BACnet is really specifically used for multiple devices to communicate across building automation systems in a standard way. It is really the best option as far as being interoperable between vendors. Modbus is really found much more in industrial automation systems for talking to equipment, although it can be used in your BAS. In short, it is not a question of which is superior, it is more of what you require. It is indeed possible to connect Modbus into BACnet points using special gateways.

AFAIUI, ModBus is a lower level data exchange protocol, with less "opinion" on how it is used. BACnet defines higher level data structures and functionality, which benefits standardized solutions to be used over and over again (very common in Building Automation, but less so in manufacturing or process industries).

    Question...
How well, in your experience, do BACnet to Modbus RTU converters typically work alright?
The one I'm looming at is BTL (thanks for that bit there) so any insights would be great.
Just want to request info from devices without BACnet native to them.

Is there an advantage using Niagra 4 as front end sitting on top of the bacnet system? the end goal is that the system in the building is as open as possible.
