In the manga there are actually little notes from the artist and he said that he wanted to use light end and dark end in chazz's deck but he couldn't because they were synchro monsters and one of his co-workers was like "dude just make them aefect monsters"
Not only that, but most of us got shocked, but in a good way seeing the protagonist loose and Chaz posing at the end of the duel was amazing and proved himself of being a strong character and a great rival
What still crazy to me is that light and darkness is a tribute effect monster instead of a fusion and the other two dragons light/dark end became Synchro monsters. They literally made that dragon into Neos Wiseman.
I would go for manga Chazz for the simple reason that he is a proper rival to Jaden, there is no question about that. And consistently proves that he earned that Obelisk blue jacket for a reason. Not to mention his actual importance in the manga. However, as much crap as I give to anime Chazz. I do have to say, he might be an overall better character than manga Chazz. Namely by him proving to his older brothers and especially to himself that he means something. Constantly clawing his way out of crappy situations to best he can, and often succeeds when face with such endeavors. Prime examples being his time at North Academy where gathered whatever card he could manage and took over the school with those same cards. And in season 4, when he took on Aster during a period in his life where was uncertain of where to go as a professional duelist. In the process, he once again gained the respect of his classmates and defeated Aster in the process. But when those high moments in the anime are worthwhile, the amount of times Chazz gets hoed down in between those high amounts are ridiculous. So yeah, I still pick manga Chazz as he is a definitive rival to Jaden and his level of power is actually admirable. But as a character, I might lean towards his anime counterpart at times.
Manga Chazz vs Manga Syrus is honestly my legit favoruite duel in GX. Both are duelists with something to prove with Chazz wanting to defeat his Zane to prove himself to everyone that he is a strong duelist and Syrus fighting to beat Zane and step out of his shadow. And what follows is a duel where both parties go all out, ending with Chazz managing to trumph over Syrus but the pair gaining a newfound respect for each other.
I don't really mind Chazz having the Ojamas as his partners in the anime. When he was stranded in the North Academy, playing straight man to Ojama Yellow's goofy man, I think it was a good dynamic. And seeing him actually win and rule over North Academy was super badass. And his struggle to get out from under his brothers' shadow, as he rejects their money-bought cards in the Duel Academy vs North Academy duel was super cool. The problem is that they saw him having the Ojamas as an excuse for him to never be taken seriously and to be the guy that is beaten by the brand new characters, to show how cool they are. Even his big duel against Aster Phoenix in Season 4 was with him in a freaking Ojama costume. I wouldn't want him to be broody, no, you can still incorporate comedy with the Ojamas, but have him actually score some wins with his unlikely comedy vs seriousness deck?
The GX manga was everything the anime should have been. I was really sad to see them rush it when principle Mackenzie and the exchange students showed up
There was a spellcaster duelist in the GX anime, Dimitri the copy cat. He just had to steal Yugi muto's legendary deck in order to show his true colours. I mean when Jaden defeats him a student calls out 'you gotta tell me how you got so good with those spellcasters, im failing that.' implying that Dimitri's true deck would be a spellcaster one. Maybe Dimitri could take up Endymion(non pendulum).
100% agree. Manga Chazz was everything anime Chazz should have been. I don't even consider Chazz a rival in the anime. The manga, on the other hand. He's GOATed in the manga. The accomplishments manga Chazz has achieved, anime Chazz only wishes he could have done.
The reason why Misawa isn't in Obelisk Blue is because he is a first year student. Most first year students ended up in Red or Yellow. The way to by pass this is through 3 ways: Firstly, being a girl. Secondly, coming from prestigious school. And finally, money.
I love how the manga treated Atticus too. Dude was a genuine rival to Zane and a serious and really powerful duelist. His only loss was cuz his body got controlled, preventing him from activating his trap card lmao he floored everyone in America, floored Jaden, floored Jim, and was gonna piece up Aster too (if not for the previously mentioned bs). Anime goobed him, I don't think he won a single duel; him being a "rival" to Zane was genuinely a myth, and he was only relevant as Alexis' brother. But manga Atticus is #1 imo
Sylvio Sawatari did win a duel, just not with the abyss actors. In season 1 of the arc v anime there is a duel in the leo institute building where he versus a student who is using a monarch deck. Sylvio defeats this duelist using a dart striker deck, but half the duel was conducted off screen, but still we get to see it's final moments, and Sylvio win that one.
Ngl while I do love the manga and the differences I don't like how it handled Zane. I think the fact he got overthroned by Syrus by the end was great. Chazz being a butt of the jokes is also fine imo since he wasn't the "main" rival of Jaden's. Hell in Season 4 Chazz actively threw the game, letting Jaden win.
What an amazing profile of the character. This made my love for L.A.D.D even bigger since i learned it is also an ace monster(kind of). Does anyone knwo where i can read the manga and about how many volumes it is(I know it says around 10 in the video but just to be sure)
Manga Chazz was the GOAT but Anime chazz wasn't bas at all is true that they tend to use him as a joke but remember: He kicked the ass of all members of the North academy making 4XOTK becoming the Manjoume Thunder!!!, he defeated his brother by using only monsters with 0 ATK, he won the GX tournament in the anime were remember Pro Duelist from all the world participated, as the first of the Light Society he turned almlst every obelisk blue student into a brainwashes follower of Sartorius by beating them... and he has the best quote from all the series Chazz It Up!!! Or 1, 10, 100, 1000... MANJOUME THUNDER!!!
By season 4 of gx chazz is actually alot better he almost beat jaden but didnt because of something in the story but could have won and he ended up beating aster in a pretty awesome duel
The main flaw of Yu-Gi-Oh is that it’s *extremely* rare for an important villain to be beaten by someone besides the protagonist so it was great to see Chazz beat David and even fight against the final boss. Not only that but he beat Jaden in a duel that was set up just like their tournament match in the anime!
But I like chazz it up or japanese manjoume san-da ⚡️. Wonder how the D is 😂 in other incarnations. I do like manga ending with Judai vs his teacher (out of coma) who gave him heroes though. Anime chazz does win half his duels at least. Yugioh fandom, I can't link to, has a nice breakdown. He is better than Joey, who at least becomes more refined after the battle city finals (people say he should have beat marik but he also should've lost to odion, especially when he set up an incompatible field of his ante cards, choosing the legendary fisherman to be a fish out of water over torrential tribute was bad and insect queen is worse.
Omg loved this video Ventusace manga chazz would've bitch slapped anime chazz for being so sorry could you do a manga vid for Jaden, Cyrus, Alexis or Bastion as I feel all 5 of those characters felt like the main characters of the manga way better than the anime.
Manga chazz is the complete opposite of anime chazz one of the best duelists on par with judai if not better, actually beat Judai, helped Judai beat tragodia the villain of the manga in a tag duel and lets not forget how badass light and darkness dragon is way way better than the crappy Ojamas
I think it's rather shallow to say he's the "superior" version when the only thing he has going for him is "he wins more on-screen duels" but you can't say a single thing about his character.
I like manga Chazz better because of how he is portrayed. In every other Yugioh series, the main rival was always shown to be someone the MC has to go all out to win and even then it's close. Seto, Jack, Kite/Shark, Reggie, and Revolver. All of them fought the MC or MV multiple times and either won or came close in those duels. Anime Chazz has two duels that show his rival potential. The North vs Central duel and Chazz vs. His Brothers. After those duels, he became a joke character.
@@pn2294 and yet that defeat was the reason why Yugi had an identity crisis in his next duel against Mai,hence he had to come with the terms that Pharaoh is ruthless and competitive,it is what allowed him to become a better duelist and person,do I need to go on?

I bet he's gonna be an awesome character!" and then he was just....dumb and embarrassing and just one of the worst duelists on the show. Hell the only reason Syrus and Chumley were worse in my opinion is because Vehicroid were designed to be terrible and I think Konami refused to make more than 3 cards based on the Australian Outback for Chumley. When I read the manga though I was blown away at how amazing Chazz was! I WISH we had gotten this version in the anime, even if he used the same deck!
