  • This first session of Fish 501 introduces the basic concepts of marine ecosystem modelling and the Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE) approach.
Fish 501 is an annual marine ecosystem modelling graduate course at the University of British Columbia, focused on how the EwE modelling framework can be used to address scientific and policy questions related to food web modelling, and notably how to address questions as part of an Ecosystem Based Management process. The underlying theories will be introduced throughout, but emphasis will be on hands-on with actual implementation.
