The super-lair might be fun for, like, an Arcade game where the players just have to grind down this crazy building, but here the absurd strength of the thing just makes the center of the map a no-go zone and makes land units worthless since they can't get to the other quadrants.
Yeah it got old really fast. I mean they were already super strong, but to have infinite spawns took it way too far.
I think its existence is fine
The BS part is that those Luffys(?) are damn strong and they keep respawning, which makes center inaccessible

You can add no-fly zones to the map which will hard-block any air units like land obstacles block ground forces. Of course the better way to handle this was to just have a dozen of rich gas geysers in there.

This map is destined to always end with nothing but Sky-toss and/or Battlecruisers because the land-routes between the quadrants are tiny funnels and the middle is pure death for any army that crosses it. This leaves only air units which can cross the quadrants freely.
The loopies should not replenish, at least not so quickly if they are going to be that strong.
Like, holy shit, those things respawned fast during the enagement at 22:46 when PracticeX went at them with siege tanks and Thors. And for what? Minerals? Just minerals!? Under no circumstance is that worth the effort given how much gas has to be sunk into clearing it out.
Jurassic Puck was a FAR better map. The center mobs were somewhat tough, but not unreasonably so. It took time and attention more than anything to clear them out, which is a resource in and of itself.
That has been updated and fixed. now when the Hatch is destroyed they stop spawning
Man every battle royale they gang up on Puck at the start to try take him out. I be hating that. Puck gameplay entertaining as hell and his fighting spirit touches my heart lol Puck you are the real MVP of these battle royales bro. Look how you fought. It's HILARIOUS how DoctorRyan (blue) fucked up the big fight - BLH GM style - considering Maplez (yellow) had 5 carriers less (+50 probes).
Here's what I'm suggesting:
Protoss can instantly build units and buildings, static defense and interceptors are free.
All Zerg units are free and move 2x as fast. All structures release banelings instead of broodlings after being killed.
Terran static defense has 5x health, armor and dps, nukes are free and can be instantly cast by all bio units. All Battlecruiser stats are buffed 2x.
I think this would solve all of the imbalance, what do you think? Constructive criticism only.
Protoss and Terran are both way stronger than Zerg.
Terran can make reapers and marines and spam nukes everywhere.
Protoss can insta-build free pylons and cannons in everyone else's bases.
I'm not sure which ability is more broken, so they might be balanced.
You just need to buff zerg somehow. Their units being free doesn't help much because they are limited by larva production, so they will just die to mass nukes/cannons. Maybe zerg structures build 5x faster than normal, and hatcheries produce 1 larvae per second?
@@atticusbeachy3707 well, we can have: hatcheries can build 5x fast, hatchery upgrades and queen production is instant, larva inject is instant and creep expands and recedes instantly.
Edit: ok Queens probably have to cost minerals because they increase production.
I do want to fix the mod without really adding too many new elements to it. I'll probably take out the mod for the next one but all ideas I read I bring up to people who can do something about it and we discuss every idea. 😊
@@Drikett1 The problem is if you don't have any mods people just turtle forever. Here are a couple solutions to consider:
1. Battle Royale. Make powerful neutral units like this game, but instead of starting in the center they continuously spawn at the edges and work their way in. That way everyone is eventually forced to the center of the map instead of turtling.
I would really prefer infested Terran to pandas, pandas seem kind of silly. They should start off very weak and get stronger and stronger as the game progresses.
2. Protoss is supposed to be efficient with their units and Zerg is supposed to throw them away and re-max. So you could leave the money gained from killing Terran units the same at 50% of cost, increase Protoss to 75% of cost, and reduce Zerg to 25% of cost. This applies to units only, buildings remain the same. (You can also tweak the percentages.)
I think option 1 is the better solution,. You could also try both to really encourage aggression.
@@Drikett1 Alternatively, there is a Xel'naga tower at the center of the map. If you control it for 5-10 minutes, you win.
Maybe there should be sky-blockers between the quadrants forcing every player toward the middle where they have to all contend with the super-lair before getting to each other, that would be interesting. Maybe not Grand-master Battle Royale material, but a good Arcade map.
that is actually interesting. ill present that idea to Winter and Marras and see if they think its viable and test it out :D

@@Drikett1 I was going to say that perhaps there can be small gaps in the air blockers to allow _some_ movement, but the holes should be small enough that they are easily defended from either side, BUT, even that much could lead to most of the fighting devolving into giant fleets mashing into each other instead of fighting through the middle or using sneaky tactics.
Blizzard needs to rewrite the code to Vulkan, then the game would run great with 1600 units. See Ashes of Singularity. For the technology-n00bs, with DX9/DX11 only one CPU-core at a time gets used to manage the graphics card, with Vulkan or DX12 multiple CPU-cores get used at the same time and the graphics card also needs less managing from the CPU.

im starting to feel like there needs to be a slight repercussion to going skytoss if the bounty mod is included since with it the carriers have basically infinite interceptors.

This is one of the most epic sc2 matches I've ever seen, but I think Puck is the real hero here

How about halving the max supply? That way you won't have as many one player kinda got ignored and built 30 carriers games.
The solution is an arena master. A capricious god to punish anyone who isn't being entertaining. "oh carrier army? We don't like that, have a broodwar tarrask killing your base. Good luck killing it with interceptors it has 16 armor."

@@tomhill3248 No. It's a map, where couple of players (in teams, or not, depending on the version and settings) fight each other, but there is one player, who plays The God. He has access to powerful units, buffs and changes in terrain, which he can use at will to screw with or reward players, shifting the balance
I think that having scans cost minerals is a bit too much of a nerf to terran vision, because they have no other way to scout for little to no cost unlike zergs (creep) and protoss (revelation) although scans are definatly better than both those things, I think instead limiting the terran's orbital command amount to 3 is better
Suggestion: make interceptors cost 1 gas. Like the terran scan, interceptors are just a little too good.
Alternatively, add 1 mineral to the price of interceptors for every interceptor/carrier built. That might be a bit too much of a nerf though...
Scans shouldn't cost minerals, they should just cost a lot of energy. That Nerfs Terran _sooooooo_ incredibly hard and makes the game basically just Protoss vs. Zerg.
Also, air and infestors need to be limited somehow, because it always comes down to BCs, Infestors, and Sky-toss depending on who is left at the end.
It's the maps that do that. They need to just have a brood war map. No fancy temples, no islands, just good old fashioned fighting spirit. Except bigger. Or skull desert if you prefer.
Ditch the bounty mod - it favors a "certain" race way more thanks to how efficient their units are.
Make vespine geysers hold infinite vespine, but remove an increasing amount of vespine gas from each player's bank over time. If the player cannot afford the vespine reduction, take his minerals. If he runs out of all resources, he automatically loses. The reduction should only increase to a cap of no more than 10 or so geysers worth of workers, which should be about 1/4th of the map.
This makes it so that players are forced to control bases to keep up with the vespine tax, so smaller players are forced to play offensively instead of camping with one building for 20 minutes. It should also ease the framerate issues, since this would nerf player economies throughout the game and encourage more worker production. The match won't last insanely long, either, since the vespine tax will eventually eliminate players who don't expand aggressively.
Other things could happen besides an instant loss, such as the player's army turns feral and the player is refunded a portion of that army's resource cost. There could also be an overpowered neutral hostile force that chooses to attack the most bankrupt players first. Other ideas welcome.
Increase bounty from killing Protoss units by 50%. Decrease bounty from killing Zerg units by 50%. Don't change Terran. Bounties for buildings of all races remains the same.
You may have to fine-tune the percentages, but this seems like the solution that changes the least.
Having a neutral hostile force that demands tribute and attacks whoever doesn't pay is an interesting idea.

the middlepoint was too strong and not worth it just for minerals.
But imagine coming in with 50 liberators and laying siege for 25 minerals and 25 gas several times a second for 15 minutes!
@@fluffyfang314 Well if you using it this way it could actually work, even with less liberators. As we saw dark templar are even better. And enough cannons+batteries could work too.

Am I the only one who got upset when at the end the pink Terran player went and killed off the massive cannon shield base that the blue Protoss was making? I genuinely wanted to see the pink Protoss fly over it for one final massive battle. Ah well.

Just some criticism, you don’t need to repeat people when they say something in chat, it’s slightly annoying.Who the hell decided to put lair in the middle of the map, they are over powered, destroying units extremely fast by their selves. And when you kill them, they barely give you any resources, you only get 500 gas and minerals for destroying the lair and 25-50 each per enemy in the lair. Not good map makers that’s for sure.
If this was an arcade game, it might be acceptable, but not for GMBR. Considering there is money on the line, the maps should be much more refined and less BS so as to display the player's skills.
I think Jurassic Puck was a good example of how strong the mobs protecting middle resources should be. Maybe just have a map where all the expansions are guarded by those things. Maybe then the early-game would stretch out a little longer instead of ramping straight up to late-game maxed out armies.
I doubt it would cause too much lag, since all the bases would be cleared out just from armies passing through them by the time everyone gets maxed out.
@@samiamrg7 I do agree. It is being adjusted for sure. We didnt test it too much as i had hoped for so thats on me. Winter gave the idea, A pro map maker made the map to the idea, and i test the maps for the event. i failed my part so ill take the blame
@@Drikett1 The increasing mineral cost of a scan is incredibly unfair to Terran in late game. If for some reason you want to limit scans because some people find them annoying, then simply increase the energy cost of a single scan instead.

Better idea make it so gas cost is just mineral cost so if a unit is 100m 100g it's just 200m.
No more gas just minerals so you can have 200/200 Thor corrupter to counter the carriers and not mine out of gas.

I was really hoping this wouldn’t have any mods. It’s just unbalancing the game and making it super predictable. No come backs, no reason to be diplomatic. Just boring death balls that you can make even bigger because you don’t have to mine anymore. The series became popular for a reason and that’s because they started out vanilla.
I like to shake things up, but the way they keep trying to solve the game with mechanics won't work. They need to force the gladiators to be entertaining. Just appoint a lord of the match to dictate terms. Every other measure will be exploited.
Winter please limit aircraft too just support aircraft like medivacs, overlords and observers

This was so poorly planned out. the center being bacicly a no mans land even for the golden armada meant no other quadrant could be invaded by a ground army. So your neighbors where the only real danger to you. So this game was so rigged to be protoss super favored. Terran only had a chance with a BC build and that would be super hard against so many shields of multiple attackers.
I think BCs would have been easy. What are carriers supposed to do when the Terran yamatos his carriers and then just leaves?
@@tomhill3248 I agree if you was fighting just one player you got the W. But against multiple people harassing you have to repair with your drones and the Protoss dont they just wait for shields. After a use of your Yamato a neighbor would see this and know you was down on your cool and finish you off.
