@@KubickQThe original novel was written by a grieving father in order to comfort his grieving children after their mother passed away. The Iron Giant being kept alive at the end is meant to signify that even though their mother is gone, she will be watching over them. It's not a bug, it's a feature.
Etho is probably the most likely to survive simply because he is by far the most likely to own a gun...

Skizz is always the "sacrificial Skizz" in Phasmo so that one is right. Tango would "survive by sheer luck" because he likes to "flee with extra flee!!!" and Impulse would be a survivor because of his plot armor. 😊
Imagine grian sacrificing jimmy only for him to be killed right after jimmy. Like it's that one zombie movie where he pushed his friend into being eaten then get eaten because he's cornered few minutes later
The alternative is that Grian's like Scar. They both push too many buttons.

its not there but in my humble opinion, jimmy would be "gets forcefully sacrificed by Grian" cuz i can just imagine Grian being like "see I'm not dying here sooo take Tim instead, bye!"

As an avid fanfic reader and a fanfic writer, I feel obliged to throw out some headcanons.
-Jimmy died because Grian pushed him towards the monster/ghost/whatever and ran.
-He also died first, of course
-Tango took one look at the thing, shrieked, and got cut off halfway through by getting killed. Skizz and Impulse stare in horror, exchange a glance, and book it.
-Gem is fine until Jimmy dies and then she turns to crying in a corner
-Bdubs gets used as bait at some point, but still survives.
-Oli's sacrifice is played as a joke; Skizz's sacrifice is played completely straight. Oli dies first, running and singing to his doom in corny slow-mo. Skizz dies getting absolutely WRECKED when he tries to fight the thing off. Both were trying to give everyone an opening to run.
-Martyn is the guy who categorically refused to come, but shows up towards the end as an 11th hour ranger or whatever its called to get the survivors out.
-Scar survives a surprisingly long time, especially with Grian trying to help him. He dies stupidly, but gruesomely.
-Etho just. Isn't shown for most of the movie. He's just sort of in the background of most of the cool shots and group shots and at the end everyone is like "YOU WERE HERE THE WHOLE TIME??"
-Mumbo locks himself in a room in Act one. The end credits scene features his voice from behind a door debating whether to open it and probably die like everyone else probably has or stay locked inside forever and wait for it to find him.

I feel like Etho's the kind of guy to just walk straight in and come out unscathed with minimal effort.

Scar survives by sheer luck in the first movie, sacrifices himself in the second, and becomes the helpful spirit with unfinished business that is put to rest at the end of the movie.
Or he's ditched/left for dead in the first movie and either becomes the villain or is possessed and the others have to save him in the 3rd or 2nd movie.
I feel like Joel would be the type to die because he tried to fistfight the killer, also i feel like Grian would sacrifice Timmy but then die soon after because of karma
Take ETNcraft for example, where he was seriously considering fighting the forest dweller while getting chased by it.
Like in Limited Life. He fell off Skynet and his first words postmortem were "don't tell Tim!"

Jimmy knows he'd be sacrificed. That's why it's so high on tier list!
I mean even the sacrifice is two things, is it sacrificed by others or sacrifices themselves to help the others flee

I feel like Grian would be a sacrifice for presing all the buttons that set off traps
Pressing too many buttons sounds like a silly death to me ;)
But remember, this doesn't usually lead to his death. It only has when it linked to instant explosives or something. Often times geian button mashing is just going to tangle all of the traps together at once, permanently disabling them yet somehow surviving, casually walking out the middle of the tangle of traps like "what? Why's everyone staring?" And when everyone starts to leave he'd say "You're Welcome!!!!" and then following after them.
Grian would mess up the Redstone from all the button pushing. There's no such thing as grian proof redstone.
Lizzie is 100% dying a silly death or joining forces with the killer😭
Maybe it would be both? She strikes a deal with the killer to stay alive in exchange for aid in killing the others - then she gets backstabbed in the final hour. Either because the killer had always planned on betraying her or because she falters on a kill, be it she can’t bring herself to kill the individual or simply failing to do so on multiple occasions.
Grian would be able to keep his cool which is realistically the most important trait in a horror _movie_
He also has the second best trait which is knowing when things won’t turn out well and avoids it.

judging from the start of hermitcraft mining sessions and the amount of time mumbo and everyone calls Rendog being useless and even blows up the chest they gathered it seems like he has the charisma and mindset but one way or another will find a way to be comically useless LOL. Like he'll say he wants to go somewhere just to slip and somehow explodes 😭😭

While i agree Grian would survive by sheer luck, i feel like he wpuld be the one to cause the other deaths. He loves pressing buttons and flicking levers. He would totally set off traps, and another poor soul would die from it

If you really think about it with horror movie logic I feel like Gem is the character that the audience is falling for through the whole movie. The audience is already picking her out as their favorite character, and then the movie's twist hits. Turns out she was the inside woman all along, or had made a deal with the horror threat.
This is coming from the perspective of a hobbyist horror writer, I would write her as the twist. Do I think Gem would side with evil or something like that? Absolutely not, she seems like an absolutely wonderful and wholesome individual, but that does make her really good to write for betrayal. I think even the audience members who see the betrayal coming wouldn't really want to let themselves believe it which is perfect for a twist.
That being said that's looking at this from the perspective of using the people as characters sooo... maybe not what one should do...
I think scar would either be a survive by shear luck of sacrifice.
Remember scar’s luck is insanely random. Sometimes it is really bad and it hits hard but other times he gets insanely super lucky. Case in point Waterbucket clutch in double life. Both Grian and Tango both thought scar would fail. You can hear tango saying he’s gon- while Grian is losing his mind. So on the off chance Scar would survive by shear luck
Martyn would've been the one to convince everyone to sacrifice Jimmy for the sake of the canary curse.

Mumbo is a Born Survivor. He would use his one brain cell and his shared brain cell with Grian to survive, and Grian's brain cell would just follow the shared cell making him a lucky survivor

needed a "is the killer/has no morals" tier. Chaos gremlin Grian would clearly survive by having no morals: if he wasnt the killer, he would be the first one to sacrifice his "friends" if it meant he got to live. He is a born survivor, but not through his teamwork.
Then scar... man, he can fit anything except born survivor. First to die before the threat is properly established? Yep. Survives through the "luck" of hiding behind everyone? Sure. Crying in the corner? how big is the threat? Sacrifice? could easily overstep the limits of everyone's patience and become a sacrifice. But, if we take reality into the equation, does he stand much of a chance if he is likely the slowest "runner"?
If tango isnt the mastermind, he either gets too curious about how a trap works and falls to it in the process or gets unlucky for no particular reason.
