You need to hold down B to keep the chainsaw revved up, be careful because enemies can interrupt the chainsaw if they attack you. Also enemies can still attack you while you’re cutting up enemies so it’s not advisable to do with a close group of enemies. It’s best to do it against a single enemy and rush in quick before he has a chance to react. I’m sorry about Dom, it’s mainly the Ultimate Edition that has this problem, I swear the A.I is better in the other games.
This part after the APC escape was cut from the 360 version and ported over to the PC version that was released in 2007. I really wished they hadn't done that.
I gotta say, the amount of laughter I've gotten from Dom's shenanigans throughout this playthrough is high indeed, he's an absolute PoS troll in my headcanon now!

Unfortunately the area she found it was the entrance to the hollow where the locust live. His father found her corpse later but kept it from Marcus. Deserting while trying to save his fathers life instead of the city was what got Marcus imprisoned. Dom's brother died before E day during one of the final battles of the Pendulum wars. Marcus watched it happen and carried the body back. Dom's and his wife Maria originally lived in a town called Mercy. Both of their parents still lived there. His kids were there visting their grandparents on E day. All of them were killed and his wife suffering from depression went missing not long after. He's been searching for her ever since. Cole's mother died on E day. He still writes letters to her as a way to deal with the world and keep his morale up. Baird also lost his family on E day but his family were not close like Dom's. They threatened to cut him off the inheritance if he didn't enlist but all he wanted was to be an engineer.

Jonesy, now I can tell you this. So, half of Act 5 basically the whole brumak section was actually not in the main game/original Gears of War 2006 on the Xbox 360. We start Act 5 halfway through and start at the train station. Which was very confusing for me because I wonder why Epic Games made us start there. And there was one of two reasons, 1.) Epic Games maybe ran out of time and couldn’t put it in the final work of the game 2.) They feared that the Xbox 360 at the time wouldn’t handle all the data stuff for the game at the time But either way, we couldn’t play this section unless you had the PC version of the original or play the UE. 😊❤️. Hope you enjoyed this Jonesy. Because you probably would have been confused if you did the original and started and skip the brumak section. 😊

Dom has been AFK for the last 2 episodes, he's been bugging out like crazy for you 🤣. The whole 3 chapters between the leaving the estate and getting to the train station were not in the original release of the game at all, that came out with the PC version of the game and then was put into this version of the game. So in the original version you'd just leave the mansion in the APC and the Brumak would chase you and then you wouldn't see it again, the next scene is the guys arriving at the train station, kinda without the context of why you're at the train station.
Yeah, chainsaw isn't the best against hordes of Wretches 🤣. If you get hit while trying to use the chainsaw it knocks you back and you're unable to try to use it again for another couple of seconds, which is why you were unable to use it when you got hit. They improved the chainsaw mechanics with the later games, it definitely feels clunky in the original game.

Gears 1 and 2 u have to activate the chainsaw and get to them without getting hit so u can use it, the slightest hit cancels the action, later games fixed that at least haha
What have you done to Dom to make him down tools on you like that, he was extra useless on this play through 😂 The Brumack section was originally cut in the xbox 360 game it was added back in for the ultimate edition. Enjoy the rest of the game 👍💪

u should stop carrying the hammer of dawn so much the game will only give u one when u need it ur having trouble killing the little guys running at u because uy dont have a close quarters gun like a shot gun and u dont need to hold down left trigger to throw grenades its better to just press right trigger only hold left trigger to throw grenades when u need to be accurate with them like for long distance throws and percise throws
