The little boy almost died during filming with the giant clown. Stephen Spielberg realized what was happening and went to pull it off of him when he realized the boy was in trouble.
Dracula's a very misunderstood historical person. What he did with the dead soldiers and the poles/spears might have seemed brutal to us, but it supposedly psyched out enough invading Turks that it saved a lot of civilian lives.
Whether or not the skeletons used were real I believe has little effect on the existence of any curse. I feel it is more about the power of suggestion, or rather the EMPOWERING of it. It opens you up to all manner of attacks mentally and physically.
Julian was already slowly dying on poltergeist 2, so I don't think the curse got to him cause he was already sick before he was even casted as Kane. Not sure about heather and the others tho
he picked her up by her neck and carried her to the next yard too it was just brutal her eyes were bulging out of her head i read her dad's article it was just awful the violence inflicted on that girl and he walked away and started his life over became a chef
My mom said to me when we watched this on TV together that if her bones had been used in a film, she'd be bragging to her fellow dead friends about it. I do believe though that it's disrespectful to use actual human remains. It's disgusting as well.
People fear what they don't know or understand, that is why people have created reasons for everything. Does everything that happens HAVE to have a reason or explanation? It's called coincidence.
No kidding. Those people used to have families and friends. I would never want the remains of my deceased kith or kin to appear in a movie like this. :(
thats not strange thats a jacked up justice system letting a cold blooded killer go home and start those jurors have blood on their hands as well as Casey Anthony's Jury does
@@aprilgosa3884 The judge apparently instructed the jury they could not convict of murder because he believed it wasn't premeditated. The judge had to quit and find work elsewhere, the community was so outraged.
Yeh the number thing is strange too. Ya look at the numbers in the whole series it strange. I think dominique was 22 she died a few week before her 23 birthday. The other creepy thing about domi and Heather weither a curse has something to do all of it who knows🤷♀️. Domi parents lost two baby girls in infancy before she was born some lung disease took there lives right after birth her parents donated there remains to science in LA. Domi was there 3rd daughter and pride and joy till Sweeney killed her around Halloween 1982 her dad birthday was also around that time and he had to bury his kid awful. Heather had a twin brother who was miscarried in the womb docs told her mom she no longer pregnant and suggested a DC to clean out the baby but mom said no way i am still pregnant here gonna have the baby so Heather was a miricle baby till age 12 then died tragically from congenital instestinal birth defect probably what killed her twin in the womb is my theory. So the two girls may have already been pursued by dark spirits in there lives angry that they live longer then them while they died young. But well they all reunited in Heaven now. So if there is a curse may have applied those dark pursuing forces. As for real skeletons i think its been hinted that tobe hooper got them from maybe a med lab or somewhere he has used real bodies in his moives before so it may have been more tobes idea to use them then speilburg, then they used real skeletons in part 2 and that d irector ended up dead.
and yet, many other actresses make a real specialty of it......Christina Ricci, Sarah Michelle Geller, Helena Bonham Carter, Jodelle Ferland, Sigourney Weaver.....these are just a few who have carved out niches in gothic/horror roles.
im sure there is some sort of loophole in that grey area,i seen a prog once about having a human body stuffed instead of buried but cant remember wot was allowed an wot wasnt, loadsa legal stuff involved
correct me if I'm wrong, but is Khandi Alexander the narrator? It sounds a lot like her. Along with Will Wheaton, this movie scares the living shits out of me every time i see it. And this curse, if one exists, which I believe it does, scares me. Five lives, young and old, were cut short. Rest in peace Dominique Dunne, Heather O Rourke, Julian Beck, Will Sampson and Bryan Gibson
I thought it sounded like Nichelle Nichols. I watched every episode of Newsradio and it could be Alexander. IMDB does credit her on the show as "Self," but no sites make it clear whether she was the narrator or appeared on camera.
So wait... the whole reason why the house was having poltergeist issues was because the home was built on a cemetery, right? ...Why the hell would they use real skeletons for this movie? Ironic justice...
It was written. Not based on a true story... If you make something up, you don't think it's going to happen for real. And real skeletons were cheaper at the time.
@yellingelk I am thinking the same thing! :S Where in the world did they get skeletons to use? They seemed to have been quite well preserved considering so they must have been buried somewhere...who would save skeletons "just in case" Steven Spielberg asked to use some in a film...that is quite creepy, if truth be told...creepy, disturbing, and plain sick indeed! :S
They were bought from the same type of company that sold real skeletons to medical schools. All that was real were the bones. The special effects make up department for the film added fake rotting flesh to make them look like decaying corpses.
i just cant figure out how they got a hold of real skeletons. maybe someone thought it would be cool to rob a few graves? if so what a foolish thing to do. a few fake ones borrowed from another movie wwould have been fine. if they felt they were on a timeline they should have extended it. people could have waited.
Can someone please explain where the film makers came to be in possession of real skeletons?... why weren't these skeletons (once real people) given burials? were they dug up and stolen from a cemetery? what's the deal?
There are companies that sell real skeletons, usually to medical schools who use them to train their students. That’s where Spielberg bought the skeletons. The companies acquire them either through people donating their bodies to science, or they’re unclaimed corpses that were donated.
They say they came from a medical supply company that would sell the skeletons to medical schools for study, and that the company got them from India. The skeletons come white and clean, so the special effects people did dirty them up and add the hair I imagine. This makes me wonder if Raiders of the Lost Ark also used real skeletons in the crypt scene. If Spielberg had fake ones in 1981, why would he use real ones in 1982?
they could not have used real skeletons! the would have fallen apart - what do you think was holding them together? where do you think they received these skeletons. far more expensive to use real bones - I calll BS
Joey Duncan I'm sure they may have fused them together with glue, string, etc. or even that liquid plastic that they use on the bodies in the Bodies Exhibitions.
tendons, ive picked almost whole deer skeletons up and they did not fall apart. looking at those they look pretty freaking real esp the teeth and there placement
ok.. pple believe in ghosts and spirits & the supernatural all the time and some even believe in poltergiest.. so y not curses.. & 4 the person who said that most of the actors who died during the filming of the trilogy died from a disease. that is false.. Domonique dunne and one other were murdered.. Domonique was murdered by her boyfriend who strangled her.. and if u look up the story... it is said that the poltergiest theme was playing in the back coincidence or not... it is still creepy
why isnt Spielberg dead?? he wrote and Directed the movie!!! I know hes not credited for directing but thats because in the Screen Actors Guild theres a rule about directing multiple films at one time, Spielberg was working on ET at the same time of poltergeist
Poppycock! you can take any cast of a very old film and several people involved would die or nearly die. For the black actor to ask if his plane accident was part of the curse was kinda stupid considering he LIVED and 26 others died! were they in the film too? Each death had its own lead up events that had nothing to do with the film. Life is crazy and unpredictable. We all die at some point thats the only certainty.
JoBeth Williams was so hot in the 1st film.
The little boy almost died during filming with the giant clown. Stephen Spielberg realized what was happening and went to pull it off of him when he realized the boy was in trouble.
He almost choked to death.
charmedfan7704 really? how did that happen I thought it was just a fake prop
Cierra Johnson Somehow the prop malfunctioned.
Cierra Johnson
The prop was a robot
Dang. So crazy!!

to this day Poltergeist remains creepy, a classic horror film. Wow to believe those were real skeletons!!
he picked her up by her neck and carried her to the next yard too it was just brutal her eyes were bulging out of her head i read her dad's article it was just awful the violence inflicted on that girl and he walked away and started his life over became a chef
It was awful. I hate him!!
It's different if you donate your body.
For when he's hungry....
For when he's lonely.....
and when it's night time.
CAN I GET A GOLD FISH NOW?!!

And how come Spielberg had the most amazing film career and made a fortune as a world class director?
Miss this show. Wish it was still on, or at least show reruns.

Spiellberg was gonna direct but he was doing ET at the same time
You moved the headstones but left the bodies!!! Why??WHY???!!!!!!!
😃😂😂love that line
the strangest thing about the strangulation murder was the bf only did 3 years. he jumped a fence, choked his girl to death and got 3 years... wtf
thats not strange thats a jacked up justice system letting a cold blooded killer go home and start those jurors have blood on their hands as well as Casey Anthony's Jury does

Tobe Hooper directed the first, Spielberg produced it, but he was more hands on
He wrote the screenplay too.
dude, this isscary as hell
Wow. Dominic was 21 & Heather was 12. 21 flipped around is 12. Not that that has anything to o with this, but I found it strange.

Talk about a movie that didn't take its own message to heart.
and yet, many other actresses make a real specialty of it......Christina Ricci, Sarah Michelle Geller, Helena Bonham Carter, Jodelle Ferland, Sigourney Weaver.....these are just a few who have carved out niches in gothic/horror roles.
They died unclaimed in India or China. Burying all remains takes a lot of time and a lot of money. That is why they can be sold rather cheaply.
The two young girls dying is scary, people dying of cancer it happens 50+.
Is it even legal to use real skeletons for a movie?
Peri Smith not sure back then if it was but pretty sure it's not legal now
At the time no. The original Texas chainsaw massacre used real skeletons
Why would they do that? Sickening.
They shouldn’t have - those are real people, who should have been left to rest
@@rageofnation4883 it's much cheaper than the fake ones.

He's been in some box offices successes, but never was an A list celebrity. I'd say JoBeth's career kind of went in the crapper.
The curse wasn't from the movies, it's from the skeletons
Never mess with the dead ones. That's what the elders would say or else you'll be cursed.
They should have had their asses sued for using real skeletons. That is so incredibly disrespectful.
Poor Heather died cuz of idiot doctors thats why the family sued
i dont know but now seems like everybodys dropping off this aint the place i used to know
Can't turn up the volume. That was how it was recorded. It was not recorded my me.
the volume is low and i turned it all the way and can't really hear it

Yes they did, and they think that started the Curse

wait a sec. Dominique died on Nov 4th? that's my birthday!
My birthday too
I was born in the same Pennsylvania town where her killer grew up. 😬
Tobe Hooper directed Poltergeist not Spielberg.
using real skeletons ?..... what were they thinking .
why did heather have to die she was so cute and talented
Ikr and beautiful I’m naming my daughter after her I I have a daughter
