Doesn't really matter though. The fiesta is quicker but since it's a manual the gear shifts are rougher compared to the opels refined automatic gearbox. However, as I said it doesn't matter. The fiesta will still be more fun to drive. Even If you get the 100pk model. Or the 125pk.

Even the most basic version of a fiesta would compete and or beat with the sportiest version of the corsa. And she said it wouldn't be fair. But she really only meant the horsepower. Because every car reviewer would agree that the fiesta would be the better on road experience. Even if it would have the same horse power. And also an automatic. It doesn't matter. Because the chassis and the responsiveness and directness is class leading in the fiesta.
@Russell Durrant the quality of the gear shift as perceived by the passenger might be down to the skill of the driver, but it's the driver who will tell you how easy (and fun) it is to get nice smooth shifts. Some gearboxes are a pleasure to use; many aren't (and the Corsa manual box isn't great according to the reviews). If you've only driven cars with good quality gearboxes then you're lucky :) @hollyhgamer88 automatic doesn't necessarily mean smooth, and it's easy to get smooth shifts with a good manual. If your manual changes are rough then either it's a very bad box, or you're doing it wrong :)

Well the fiesta always ranked high on the safety regulations. Reliability is very good with ford's. Just keep it under maintenance at an official dealer. The price is not far off from the corsa. The technology in the corsa is a bit better. Although not by a long shot. Really only the digital dials. Soo there you have it. The fiesta still makes more sense. Because in the end of the day. You still need to drive your car. And if one puts more of a smile on your face than the other.. why wouldn't you get it if the rest is mostly similar?
On the Corsa’s climate control adjustment, just use the auto function. In 15 years of owning various brands of cars with climate control or dual control. I’ve generally not once used anything other than the Auto function…. If it’s a good system then out side of adjusting the temperature a few degrees here or there on hotter or colder days there’s no need to interfere with the Auto function in any way…. Even on an electric car, just use the app to preheat or pre cool the car and again just use the Auto function
test drove and ordered the 1.2 130 ultimate Corsa today! bright red black roof ! smashing little car to drive! and has all the kit of much larger cars!!
4:25 Stupid change of design removing airflow control dials which can be easily adjusted whilst driving! Glad I’ve just bought 2019 model instead of newer one if that’s how design is going…
I've just been through this process of choosing a car. Narrowed it down to 4 including these two. Fiesta is good but dated inside and out in comparison. It handles well though but ultimately it came down to the Corsa and Polo and the Corsa got my order.
How silly you have compared a super sporty fiesta with a mid range corsa, and you being a racing driver will always go for power over function, i don't care for either car i test drove the corsa sri still not very nice to drive, so i brought a second hand Volvo for the same money much better. Most off these types of cars really are very bad indeed.
I own a opel corsa or for the UK a vauxhall Corsa. The first time driving it I was braking for a intersection I almost smacked my head to the steering wheel. Opel/vauxhall is in French hands and French cars tend to have sensitive brakes in general so since then Iam easy in the brakes.
@@Dan_Cartlidge I owned a mk7.5 Zetec S and now a mk8 ST and haven’t got a clue what any of you are talking about. The steering in both is fine. Put the ST into sport mode and the steering feels heavier than a 205 GTi without power steering.
My missus has a 2018 Fiesta Ecoboost Auto, and I agree the Fiesta is great to drive, a proper drivers car, and I agree it's small for over 6ft, I'm only 6.1 but I cannot get in if I'm wearing a coat and without it's a snug fit but much better once in, the width legroom for the driver isn't so great where your left knee gets a jabbing from the center console but otherwise the driving position is comfy, and if you're tall that center armrest is pointless. An annoying complaint that I hope they haven't continued in the latest cars is the mobile phone resting place being so small in the console, even a Galaxy S7 only just squeezes in there without any case on, and there's a symbol showing charging place but there isn't one as it's just a rubber mat. As for the Hybrid part I would steer clear, it's just a poor gimmick because Ford are being stubborn about making them full EV.
Just picked up a hire car, a new Corsa was shocked at how good it is. For a small car, its very quiet, nice inside, but like all small cars with tiny engines the engine really needs to be kept singing to get the most out of it. But a very surprising little car.
Both of these cars are a poor long term buy. Their engines are poorly designed. The 1.0 ecoboost engines suffer from overheating general reliability issues and many independent garages won't touch them. The Corsa uses the PSA/Stelantis puretech engines that suffer from general reliability issues and premature cambelt failure.
The fiesta engine is a gem. We have had 2 now with 125ps and both were great engines and the main reason we purchased. I know there were some issues earlier on but they were resolved years ago.
Ehm what? The 1 litre ecoboost engine from Ford is literally best in its class. With many prices to its name. Never heard of them overheating. Not one of my friends with that engine has such issues.

@@keithjones9054 agreeable to some extent that Ford do sell better than Vauxhall but there’s more to it than just chip shortages. When it comes to the Fiesta & Focus, they are 2 of the least practical cars in their segment, a Skoda Fabia is more practical than both of them. Yes prioritising crossovers is the thing now since the Puma is based on the Fiesta and the Kuga being based on the Focus hence the fact cars like the Puma are more attractive and still decent enough value for money but even so SUVs are not even all that. Puma just looks like a Fiesta in shoe lifts.
Had a new corsa as a courtesy car for a week, my opinion it has total sex appeal ,driving was an absolute pleasure, where as fiesta still pure boy racer, my thoughts anyway.
I would go with the fiesta. All day every day. More fun to drive. And now with a much better interior compared to the old one.. its a no brainer for me. But than again. I am kinda biased to ford. I love my focus as well. And would even choose a focus st above an audi rs or Mercedes amg. In my opinion there just isn't a better company that does driving as good as Ford has done. Whether it's the fiesta or focus. Both are just ontop of the world in the fun factor. Regardless if they are fast or not. Although.. a fiesta st with 200pk is probably most people would ever need. Just like the focus st with 280pk. You don't need more than that. Heck even the diesel focus st with 190pk is perfect. 🤷♂️ so yes no brainer. Always will choose a Ford if I have the option to.
I've done over 300k miles in a mondeo and 270k in another mondeo they never cost me anything other then Normal wear and tear parts great cars. Then again my mum owned a Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost and the engine blew up at the traffic lights with no warning nicely just outside warranty. So my opinion are Mondeos diesels are good but I wouldn't touch any of that Ford EcoBoost crap
Probably not the only one. But I don't understand you no. It's very sharp agile. Taking corners always brought a smile on my face in the old fiesta and now focus. (Even drove the new fiesta and yes still a smile). So it most be you. Maybe you only drove it on a straight line. Than it can seem a bit dull. I most say though. I like the responsive steering the most of it. Every little movement you make gets picked up. You really feel connected. The other cars in the same segment just feel floaty with their steering wheel.
Fiesta easy win. Vauxhall’s German Opel cars overall have always been second but more third rate at best, perhaps the French will now do better with it than the Germans ever did.
I prefer German built cars, better quality, hold the vale better. If I had to choose from theese two it's got to be the fiesta, has a better pedigree than the corsa!!!
I have a 20 Plate Fiesta Trend and it's a great little car for my needs. When it was damaged at work last year they gave me a Corsa as a courtesy car, I hated the damn thing it was like driving a go kart!

Today Ford Europe has finally confirmed that Fiesta production will cease in 2023. It's sad really as Ford is axing all its smaller vehicles in favour of more lucrative SUVs and electric autos. As Mike Rutherford told LBC 97.3 today (October 26) just after 0300 it will lead to Asian manufacturers expanding in the UK market.
Fiesta wins every time. Great fun to drive. Looks good. The latest interior outstandingly smart and the instrument panels easy to use and understand. Well done Ford. Such a shame that you are ending the Fiesta line. If you made an electric version you would definitely be the market leader.
The Corsa is a great motorway car but otherwise a bit dreary imo. Poor gear shift typical of Stellantis (and Vauxhall/Opel) vehicles. Dreadful dash display. Never a car I would ever spend my own money on.
Have the dreaded downsizing conundrum looming. Looking at these might just go all in on the full fat st fiesta though if ive got to run around in a teeny box least it should be nippy and fun. Will be getting train to and from work so the motorway refinement isnt an issue anymore.
What on earth is that infotainment screen in the Fiesta it looks like someone has stuck a laptop on the dash. Also why is it that the Fieata always feels like your driving a go cart I don't like that feeling. I as for the Corsa why do car manufacturers insist on putting heating and air controls on those bloody infotainment screens just stick to buttons or dials.
Vauxhall haven’t copied a German car, they never have 😂😂😂. The last British designed Vauxhall was in the 1970’s, since then all Vauxhall’s have been rebadged Opels. Then since the takeover by PSA, they’ll be rebadged Peugeot’s.
Ford prioritised their productions runs for the vans and the higher end models like the Puma given the chip shortage. That's the only reason the Fiesta sank in sales. The Corsa has never been the better car

Need to get CD players back in cars!
@@jimmcintosh9045 you can still get that with the new ford's. It's an optional extra. (:

On the Corsa’s climate control adjustment, just use the auto function. In 15 years of owning various brands of cars with climate control or dual control. I’ve generally not once used anything other than the Auto function…. If it’s a good system then out side of adjusting the temperature a few degrees here or there on hotter or colder days there’s no need to interfere with the Auto function in any way…. Even on an electric car, just use the app to preheat or pre cool the car and again just use the Auto function
Just to be clear the Corsa is from Opel, a german company now owned by stallantis.
Thanks for clearing that up - I’m sure everyone was on tenterhooks awaiting that clarification
It's been a while since I last saw one of your new video, great to see you reviewing cars again!
test drove and ordered the 1.2 130 ultimate Corsa today! bright red black roof ! smashing little car to drive! and has all the kit of much larger cars!!
4:25 Stupid change of design removing airflow control dials which can be easily adjusted whilst driving! Glad I’ve just bought 2019 model instead of newer one if that’s how design is going…
Vauxhall Corsa have MT (manual transmission) model. Why don't use MT model compare with Ford Fiesta?
All you need to do is drive them both and you'll end up with the Fiesta, the Corsa is so dull to drive has no fun at all.
Perhaps Rebecca should say : " I am 5' 4.5" without you heels..."🥳🤗😘🥰🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've just been through this process of choosing a car. Narrowed it down to 4 including these two. Fiesta is good but dated inside and out in comparison. It handles well though but ultimately it came down to the Corsa and Polo and the Corsa got my order.
I have a new Corsa. It's a great car.
thats good to Know Michael how is it owning it now u still happy?? im in the stages of choosing
@@alundavies5171 I'm very happy with my choice. Love the peppy engine and gearbox combo. It's a great car.
Still 5'4 1/2" ? Somethings don't change. Interesting review though.
My sister owns the previous gen Fiesta and I still can't get used to fast steering and the way over assisted brakes. I feel relaxed driving the Corsa.
I own a previous shape Fiesta, 59 plate. Agree with the sharp brakes and fast steering. You do get used to it though. Good car for it’s time
@@Dan_Cartlidge I owned a mk7.5 Zetec S and now a mk8 ST and haven’t got a clue what any of you are talking about. The steering in both is fine. Put the ST into sport mode and the steering feels heavier than a 205 GTi without power steering.
The reason the Fiesta sales are slipping are because potential buyers are going for the Puma now instead.
Not just that but people want to be different now, as well as the Fiesta has been selling, it’s showing its age a lot as well
Slipping because of the Ecoboom 💥
I enjoyed watching the Video Comparison. I would choose the Fiesta
5 foot 4 & a half of loveliness 👍, what cars!.
Just picked up a hire car, a new Corsa was shocked at how good it is.
For a small car, its very quiet, nice inside, but like all small cars with tiny engines the engine really needs to be kept singing to get the most out of it.
But a very surprising little car.
I mean the ecoboost pulls quite well from low rpm so you dont need to keep the revs high
Fiesta, looks much better and much more enjoyable drive.
@@paulborszowski8857 issues are still not resolved cambelts cost £1200 to replace and many independent garages won't touch ecoboost engines
@@Pand0rasAct0r_ they are troublesome long term. Cambelts cost£1200 to replace and good luck trying to get an independent garage to sort out any problems. They are great engines when they are working but a poor long term buy
@@paulborszowski8857 the 1litre ecoboost engines are a real pain when they go wrong. They were poorly designed from the start. You won't find many garages willing to work on them. Even trained Ford mechanics cringe at the sight of them. Avoid
Did you know that she is 5' 4.1/2''?
For me I don't like the fiestas cabin, the entry level touch screen is awful and fiestas are just so common, everyone you knows either got one or had one.
The corsa looks better than it ever has, the SRI trim is nice looking but again the cabin is a bit boring.
Personally for the same money I'd be getting a pergeot 208 over both.
CORSA LOOKS BETTER
Don't most people leave climate control on Auto 95% of the time?
Yep. In fact, I rarely even change temps. 19c in summer. 21c in autumn and spring. 22c in Winter. Why journo's harp on about physical controls when a car has climate control, I have no idea.
@@khalidacosta7133 me too, and I generally change it before I drive off as well.
An utterly pointless review. You stated that it's unfair to compare them so why have you???

Corsa for me. It makes the Fiesta look like yesterday’s news imo
@@keithjones9054 nah.
@@keithjones9054 also speaks volumes when the fiesta hasn’t even made the top ten in uk sales charts for the last couple of years, meanwhile the corsa has been the country’s best seller.
@@keithjones9054 chip shortages 🤣🤣🤣🤣 is it ironic that the Puma is actually selling better than the Fiesta? Why is it that small crossovers are outselling their small hatchbacks on which they’re based?
@@keithjones9054 why are Peugeot 2008 and Vauxhall Crossland outselling the Fiesta since late 2020 Keith? Give us a better explanation?

Ford's are utter crap in mine and everyone I know who was fooled into ever buying one experience. Never again.
Yet I've only owned Ford cars and vans since 1984, both new and used, and never had a bad one.
My Fiesta is great even after 200k km. All my friends, who get in say that it's suprisingly good.
Fords are actually the most reliable cars, they rarely go wrong compared to other makes
Am I the only person who can’t stand the way the fiesta drives?! I really don’t understand the hype around it!
Yes it is you. The Fiesta chassis is excellent. The Corsa an embarrassment in 2010 let alone now.
@@Pand0rasAct0r_ vignale 155bhp isnt dull and just wants to go but 50mpg and comfort top it all for me.
You are a natural Toyota driver. Fords are great drivers cars.
Fiesta easy win. Vauxhall’s German Opel cars overall have always been second but more third rate at best, perhaps the French will now do better with it than the Germans ever did.
I prefer German built cars, better quality, hold the vale better.
If I had to choose from theese two it's got to be the fiesta, has a better pedigree than the corsa!!!
glad to see you back doing reviews !! uve grown an inch as well u were 5 foot 3 and half on car buyer!!
should have tried the higher powered corsa maybe against the 155bhp fiesta?? one horse race really especially as you are a racing driver!!!

Corsa is a 208 beaten with the ugly stick
Can’t believe I’m saying this but the corsa is a stunning little car far nicer than the fiesta
I have a 20 Plate Fiesta Trend and it's a great little car for my needs. When it was damaged at work last year they gave me a Corsa as a courtesy car, I hated the damn thing it was like driving a go kart!
Please tell me how bluetacking an iPad to the dashboard of a Fiesta ever passed quality control. It’s utterly horrendous 😂😂😂

First time ever I'm actually considering buying a vauxhall corsa or Astra. Just had enough of being ripped off by the German manufacturers.
I bet your German car was an Audi A3…fake fake fake.
Corsa is a German car. Except for the gearbox and engine which is Peugeot.

How fit is she 😍 but apart form that the I’d buy the Fiesta… Despise Vauxhall’s
I tried hard to make Fiesta look good to my eyes, but Ι chose Corsa 130hp
Fiesta all the time. The new 2021/22 facelift model even better , review required on that , Rebecca please.
For me the facelifted version looks ugly and less desirable. The Mk2 & Mk3 Fiestas look so much better.
The Corsa is a great motorway car but otherwise a bit dreary imo. Poor gear shift typical of Stellantis (and Vauxhall/Opel) vehicles. Dreadful dash display. Never a car I would ever spend my own money on.
Fiesta over a corsa everyday for me
Love the Corsa passed my test in it in 2013 great car. Drove the latest corsa and it was lovely drive!
all 3 cyl engines are crap we all knew that years ago lucky if any of them see 100 000 mils
I prefer larger cars but if I had to choose one of these, I'd go for the fiesta. It looks nicer and seems more practical out of the two.
The actual boot size is 292 litres not 311
Have the dreaded downsizing conundrum looming. Looking at these might just go all in on the full fat st fiesta though if ive got to run around in a teeny box least it should be nippy and fun. Will be getting train to and from work so the motorway refinement isnt an issue anymore.
The Fiesta is a tried & tested car with good reputation, however the Corsa looks a much modern up-to-date car. Rebecca, I find your beauty very distracting 😍. Thank you 🙏.
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇬🇧 ©
A strange review. It's not like for like. The Ford has a sports tuned suspension and quicker engine with manual gearbox. This is ridiculous
Does the Ford Fiesta have good sound insulation from external noises ?

The corsa is basically a Peugeot in disguise.
I love how Vauxhall completely copies a German Opel car and then calls it fully British lol
Not even a German car anymore, its a Peugeot 208 in disguise, the PSA groupe purchased Vauxhall/Opel
The Union Flag covers up all BS at the moment in the UK 🇬🇧🤪😂
Vauxhall haven’t copied a German car, they never have 😂😂😂. The last British designed Vauxhall was in the 1970’s, since then all Vauxhall’s have been rebadged Opels. Then since the takeover by PSA, they’ll be rebadged Peugeot’s.
Ford prioritised their productions runs for the vans and the higher end models like the Puma given the chip shortage. That's the only reason the Fiesta sank in sales. The Corsa has never been the better car
OPEL. You guys in Britain... Just unbelievable...
🤣 True. But at the end of the day Opel is now Peugeot anyway. This is a 208.
Compairing a car with auto-transmission with 100bhp to another with 155 bhp manual does not seam like a great review
