    It makes me so emotional to watch her. What she did for children will never be forgotten. Imagine being a teenager and dressing up as a clown at a time when you want to appeal to boys and go on dates. She's definitely a legend.

    • @TheBengalDragon
      @TheBengalDragon 5 месяцев назад

      I saw somewhere online that she described her time on Couch as eventually "oppressive". As of this writing, I found that vid on youtube where this interview was summarized. This is public knowledge.
      There's more to this... and that's all I'll say.
      Bottom line of it all is that, I feel Alyson is a VERY underappreciated performer of this industry.

    • @jasonmondelo3748
      @jasonmondelo3748 3 месяца назад +1

      Whats wrong with dressing up as a clown? Ya some guys might say no just because of that but alot wouldn't care I loved this show and at 16 dating her wouldn't have bothered me one bit

    • @TheBengalDragon
      @TheBengalDragon 3 месяца назад

      @@jasonmondelo3748 It's the image and type casting. As a clown, she couldn't be seen drinking, using non kid friendly slang, dressing up like a normal 20 year old who goes for girls night outs occasionally, etc. The image she has to maintain is that she is a children's idol, and thus the parents don't want this adult be anything but a childish big sister whenever she is seen. Don't think it had anything to do with dating or anything like that, but even something as regular as normal dating... that becomes a challenge considering you go to places on dates where the public can see you and recognize you. People be like:
      "Hey look, that's Loonette. Loonette's drinking Vodka, smoking cigarettes! Such unhealthy things for someone our kids look up to." While they're smoking and drinking heavy themselves.
      There's more to it.

    I watched the big comfy couch as a young child, before i shifted over to the video games and played the first resident evil 2 and loved playing Claire Redfield. I was already in my late 20s when i found out that Alyson was both lunette and Claire. Technically this woman was apart of both childhood and Teen years.

    • @TheBengalDragon
      @TheBengalDragon 2 года назад +5

      NO REAKING WAY!!!
      So JUST to set the stage... the voice actress of Cliare Redfield, proposed marriage to a guy called STEVE BURNS and STEVE BURNS torned the voice actress of Claire Redfield down, and the voice actress of Claire Redfield is still getting over it.
      If this happened BEFORE Code Veronica, then this would make Code Veronica, the GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME EVER MADE OR EVER WILL BE MADE RFLOL!
      Didn't Alyson Court end up marrying Erik Suziki, the voice director of Code Veronica?
      So the whole game would then be her REVENGE on Steve Burns... is it a coincidence that the most HATED character in RE is called STEVE BURNS-IDE (burnside) who ended up being turned into a monster with no private parts, and then reverted back to a naked human in the Antarctic cold, and confesses his love for Alyson Court's character with his dying breath?
      RFLOL!
      just a theory...
      The actual Claire story is in actually VERY tragic, and IMO, Code Veronica Claire is her BEST voice acting.

      I didn't know she was the voice actress for Lydia in the beetlejuice cartoon

    • @TheBengalDragon
      @TheBengalDragon Год назад +1

      @@matthewp1177 Oh she's been in many things... sadly, most of them involved her acting like a child, or playing a child, or characters who are taking care of a child, or someone who cries like a child.
      I listened to a few podcasts that had her on. Something tells me that although the fans like and respect her, the industry doesn't respect her as much as she expected.
      I personally feel she has not been allowed to fully show what she can do as a voice actress. If she was given the opportunity, then, IMO, the gap between her, and people like Felicia Day and Laura Bailey wouldn't be as large.

    • @Tj-qb8nd

      @@TheBengalDragon she’s very happy and proud of her career

    • @TheBengalDragon
      @TheBengalDragon Год назад +3

      @@Tj-qb8nd She's successful, I'll give her that, but she still did not reach her height as a voice actress, and sadly, I don't think she ever will.
      IMO, Capcom RUINED her potential as a VG voice actress.
      She honestly has been type-cast as a children's programming specialist. a monacre, she has actually shown to grow a resentment to.
      No one know what dating gguy is, for which she did some horrible VA work only in 2 episodes. No one knows what "sunny skies" is where she did perhaps the WORST acting of her life. No one know what the Joke Thief is, where the trailer revealed her to be a dark haired bimbo.
      Nah, she worked alongside Tara Strong and Laura Bailey, and yet, she's almost an afterthought when it comes to VA work compared to Tara and Laura.
      The person I associate the most with Alyson is claire Redfield. this is because Claire is THE MOST COMPLEX character Alyson ever portrayed, who is well known. That's a good and a bad thing.
      The good thing is that THE MOST UNIQUE AND MISUNDERSTOOD (even Alyson has shown not to understand her) character in Resident Evil Original cast was claire, and Alyson (for the most part) nailed it, (except in DSC, where Alyson didn't even try to act).
      The bad thing is, Claire is not that complex a character. We're not talking about The Boss from MGS3, or Freya from GOW, or Marlene from TLOU, we're talking about Claire, someone significantly less complex, and that's the zenith of Alyson's character portreyal?
      As for her being happy... look, I heard some of her interviews... Alyson does not seem like a loose party girl like Miley Cyrus or Lindsey Lohan or Maddonna when she was young. Like Dave chappelel said, "this industry is a MONSTER!"
      I think alyson is happy with her life, because I feel she kept this monster from consuming her, yet find a career to provide for her and her son.
      Still, I would REALLY love to speak to her for a few moments for some things that could've been. I STILL feel she has much to offer as a VA, but NOT as child or childish character, but as a villain.

    Something that you might not know is that Ernie Coombs (Mr. Dressup) was actually the late Fred Rogers' (aka "Mister Rogers") understudy. Fred actually had a show in Toronto for a few years during the early to mid-'60s called 'Misterogers' (with only one "r"). The show was a hit. However, Fred and his wife Joanne wanted to raise their two sons in the United States (where they were from). The CBC didn't want Fred to leave, but he suggested that they build a show around Ernie Coombs, which they did. From what I understand, the show actually had similar elements to 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood'.

    If I could say to her, where do you think that Capcom may of got inspiration from with the dialogue?
    Example -
    The scene where Claire enters the diner & her dialogue, "Hellooo? Is anybody here?"
    Compare the scene to Buffy the vampire slayer season 1 episode 1 where Buffy's first encounter with Giles. The sound of the opening door, the exact dialogue, the same mysterious entering of the scene, & that predates the scene from Resident Evil 2.

    I remember watching this when I was a kid in the 90s and nostalgia really hits hard when she put on the wig and that red clown nose and she was missing 1 thing Molly but man the good old memories 😢 😊.

    I loved watching this tv show one of my favorites and I turned it on yesterday with my 2year old kitten and she was fascinated I think my kitten Nola’s favorite part is probably the dust bunnies because she went straight to the tv and was intrigued by the dust bunnies.
    I guess when Nola wants to snuggle with me I’m turning her favorite show on.

    TBCC was one of my favorite children's shows.
    I used to do the Clock Stretch with Loonette, and I always enjoyed her visits with Granny Garbanzo and Major Bedhead.
    I always admired the Dust Bunnies and that doll house was all right.
    We can't forget Auntie Macassar!
    I love Alyson! She did a great job in her career!
    Also, I didn't know she met Steve Burns.
