We all have those moments when we think we'll never get up again. It is a great thing that Lara overcomes those with a song, isn't it? Both for her and for all others who might have that same feeling in life, as her songs are beautiful indeed. Thank you so much for your comment! ❤❤❤
Broken Vow has been extensively covered in The Voice around the globe: - Harrison Craig - Australia 2013 - Julien Mior Lambert - France 2013 - Alaric Green - UK 2016 - Milana - Russia 201 - Phil - Germany (Kids) 2020 - Hakob - France 2020 - Xanne - belgium (flemish) 2021 - Simão Pereira - Portugal 2022 - Alexander Perov - Bulgaria 2022 - Håkon Sønsterud Tollefsrød - Norway 2024 But also in other programs such as Indonesian Idol or Opera Idol Israel
@@dcchiasson5991 i gave a long list of these in my initial comment. Even Barbra Steisand covered it! All filipinos singers covered it as the song was used in the soundtrack of a taiwanese tv series that appeared to be extremely popular over there.
And last week Lara sang it again in Paris, in duet with a famous lebanese singer, Hiba Tawaji, who is a superstar in middle east: ruclips.net/video/10hPRYFTafU/видео.htmlfeature=shared ruclips.net/video/_yui0Z0AgLc/видео.htmlfeature=shared Hiba is a fan of Lara since she is a teen and it was very emotional for her

Thank you so much, Eric! As the point of the channel is to see artists I haven't seen before and I haven't watched the Voice in several years, I've gone ahead and added this to the list.
💖 -- for Lara, for her creation of this masterpiece, for her singing, for you getting into Lara, for you reacting to this song (with the delightful twist that you had already heard it, just not her singing it), for the experience of hearing this song anew through your reaction to her, for all of the beauty, even amid the bitter sweet experiences that life brings to us all, and most of all for you hosting the therapeutic effect of sharing love for great musical art/experiences.
Watching people react to Lara is becoming a pastime with me and I especially enjoy the pleasant manner that you have while reacting to her and adding your observations, Thank you!
I’m enjoying your Lara reactions. I discovered her a bit less than a year ago and not a day goes by that I don’t listen to something by her. I’m so excited to be seeing her in Ottawa next week.
She had several breakups but never divorced. She has been and is still married to her husband Gabriel. She was engaged with Walter when he cheated and she broke before the marriage. She wrote the lyrics on the song they had co-composed … and he directed the album recording 😂
I assumed she was married before only because it was actually a longer relationship... I re-read your notes about her and searched online to find out more. I'll say this much - your notes gave me more information than any online search did. You really ARE an expert on all things Lara! 😉
@@AleksReacts i am not the most knowledgeful, believe me, but I am the scribe: the one that takes time to record in notes the info I collect from others.

I know what you mean. She did that to me with Caruso. ❤ I managed to suppress the tears... It really is one of my favorite songs of all time and Lara's version was so dramatic... I don't know, maybe I shouldn't have stopped it, but I did feel a bit silly crying in front of a camera... Who knows, maybe in time you'll see me crying rivers once I stop caring that it's public. 😂
@@AleksReacts Your “Fabian Journey” is just beginning. Don’t worry, she’ll definitely make you cry many times. And you’re already forgiven, after all, every Lara’s performance is a rollercoaster of emotions. She can’t help it and neither do us. 🥺😢😭😍
@@AleksReacts Absolutely! Oh! And if it isn’t already on your list, consider reacting to Lara’s Yentl Medley, performed in 1998. I’m quite sure Eric already suggested it. Anyway, it’s marvellous and such recommendation definitely deserves a reinforcement. 😊
Αleks η αντιδράσεις σας είναι υπέροχες. It's true, 10 years of conservatory gives you the tools to sing well, but Lara has something more. In my entire life I have never listened to such a complete singer. The interpretation of the lyrics, the tone is so constant throughout the register and so rich in harmonics whether she sings low or high and you can perceive the power of the voice even when she whispers. The management of the air, the dynamics, the duration of the high notes and, something that we rarely hear nowadays, no interrupted sentences to breathe while pronouncing all the consonants and vowels in whatever language she sings. Yesterday the tour in Canada began and I listened to some fragments recorded with a telephone, at 54 years old her high register is still the same as it was 25 years ago, which means that she has managed her voice well. No flashy jewellery, no heavy make-up, no body parts to vulgarly show off, simple and always elegant clothes, just a wonderful voice. And finally, which doesn't hurt, she's always a very beautiful woman. Thanks for the comments. 🙂👍
After reading this comment, I think I should retire and you should be the one doing the reactions. 😂 Unlike me, as I only feel what you explained, you seem to know what you're talking about. Then again, looking at your profile picture, I'd say I have an idea as to why you know.😉 What I agree with the most is that singers who don't need props in the form of make-up, glitter, dancers or worst of all, excessive display of their body are usually the ones you can't take your eyes off. They captivate with talent, hard work and their soul. Thank you for watching my reaction. It is a pleasure to do this when it's appreciated by people with taste.
@@AleksReacts I'm not a singer, but I have some small musical skills having spent about 30 years in the sector. I am fascinated by singers (the good ones) because I find many affinities with my musical instrument, very similar to the human voice, and I admire their ability to manage the emission, the dynamics and obtain a "rich" sound while being relaxed. These are the same things I had to deal with in my musical studies and which I still deal with since, however good one may be and regardless of the instrument, studying is practiced throughout one's life (as Lara often says). So, Lara is my "Musa Ispiratrice" and in this sense, to paraphrase an old film with Cher and Nicolas Cage, I am "Larastruck" . 😂 However, don't retire, I follow few Reactions channels, the few really interesting ones, and I have no intention of making my own. 😉👍
I didn't think you were a singer. I thought you're a trumpet player with knowledge of music. 😊 I used to study literature, so my focus on the lyrics along with the music probably comes from years ago, from my studies. Of course, it's been a hundred years since I properly analyzed a poem, but the need to try and understand the meaning of lyrics remains, however faint. That's what I recognized in your analysis of the musical finesse in Lara's performance. It was clear it's your field. The fact that I knew you meant Moonstruck should tell you I'm somewhat old school and you are not alone in being Larastruck. 😁 I won't retire, but maybe someday I'll ask you to do one reaction together, if this turns into a long term thing... ❤
@@AleksReacts You should be fine, in the end the songs are poems in music, and I agree with you, the words are important (an aspect that many - performers and listeners - overlook) and Lara knows this very well. However is not trumpet but the noble trombone 😄
Yes Lara Fabian is a beautiful woman and when she sings she becomes the most beautiful woman in the world. That Walter guy..Who cheated on her was not the smartest Walter in the world If I may say so. Thank you for a great reaction.🎉❤
If you reached the end of my reaction, you might have heard that we soooo agree on the Walter guy. 😂 Thank you so much for taking the time to drop a line and for the compliment, of course. ❤
Me neither. I just believe talent of this kind is not common. You might want to check out the other artists I reacted to. Each one is really very different from the standard.
Hi Aleks Great reaction ❤ Thank you ❤ I think this is one of the most accurate descriptions of what Lara wanted to say with this song ❤ According to Lara herself, it is the English song she is most proud of having written the lyrics for ❤ Lara also CO compose the music, along with the man who cheated on her while they were engaged Love Lara ❤ Love from Denmark ❤
Hej til Danmark! ❤ I am happy to hear I wasn't off the mark. Not too happy about the "genius" who was misguided enough to cheat on her. She really seems like a lovely human being. I really try not only to enjoy the music. The overall experience for me includes the lyrics - if a song has them, usually they are important. It's sort of inherent to me to listen to the whole message and connect the layers as much as it is possible when one first hears a song.
@@AleksReacts Hi again Aleks Here is a French TV-Show (with English subtitles (CC)) I just love [Eng] 'Tommy Mottola showed up with R. DeNiro while I was recording Adagio' | Lara Fabian (ITW 2020) ruclips.net/video/uRW9W5jvK_A/видео.html Love Lara ❤ Love from Denmark ❤
Thank you so much, Martin! Of course, I am unlikely to react to the whole recording, but if that doesn't happen I'll watch it for my own enjoyment. Love to Denmark ❤
I can't say I have a favorite. Every song I heard by her is a masterpiece in its own way. Still, it's her song, she knows best why that one in particular.
The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian. Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he co-composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You or Hero and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that increased Celine Dion WW fame). He is produced a song for Dimash among others. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, they were living in San Francisco’s bay area, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests: - Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it), - Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US, she is her friend and role model and he made several duets with her), - Linda Eder, - Cakra Khan, - Gigi de Lana, - Regine Velasquez, - Almira (from 4th Impact), - Katrina Velarde, - Julie Anne San Jose, - Sarah Geronimo, - Morissette Amon, - Petra Berger, - Harrison Craig, - Rimar, - Jackie Evancho, - … For Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning. But the original from Lara remains the absolute reference ruclips.net/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/видео.html
I am so glad I got one thing right, i.e. that he did cheat on her and that was the only thing I wasn't (incorrectly) sure of when listening to her performance. Once again, thank you so much for all the time you invested in teaching me more about Lara's life and music!
I first heard Broken Vow by Josh Groban on his Josh Groban in Concert in the early 2000s - didn't know Lara wrote the lyrics and never heard of Lara until 2023! Now I listen to her or those who reaction to her performances every day. Eric Sicard explain some details what was the impetus behind this song in his comment below.
@@AleksReacts You're absolutely correct! Just remembered a friend lent me Lara's 1st CD 15+ years ago; all I did was copy a few tracks to my music library. Back in those days I did not listen to music sung in a language other than English with very few exceptions. So, the few tracks I copied remained in my library of 4+K songs until 2023.
Love this song! I love the lyrics, the start is perfection, but the way it flows, so effortless and smooth, and that " There's more to life than only bitterness and lies"! Damn, Lara! Love our reactions and commentary! Plus one for Requiem pour un fou and Perdere l'amore!
Oh, my dear, Perdere l'Amore is already up. I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I think it should be easy to find it on my channel. There aren't too many videos yet. Plus 1 noted for Requiem Pour Un Fou. 😉 Oh, and of course, thank you - I am glad you liked this reaction. Lara just can't miss...
Linda reacción! Saludos desde Costa Rica! Hermosa canción e interpretación increíble de Lara Fabián, la mejor cantante e intérprete del mundo entero, la voz de cristal más bella y perfecta que existe! Gracias!
Dear Aleks, I really like your reactions to Lara Fabian's songs. Your analyzes are excellent and intelligent and you even put a little emotion into it. To see the greatness of Lara's talent, I invite you to watch a great performance with Igor Krutoy in MADEMOISELLE HYDE (SOTCHI 2016) and one of her most beautiful visual performances LOVE BY GRACE (AT THE JUNO'S). I'll put the links in the comments. Thank you from Montreal. For your good comments, I subscribe to your channel.
Dear Pierre, it is a true pleasure to read the comments on this channel. There isn't a single fan of Lara who hasn't been just a joy to correspond with. Thank you kindly for subscribing, I hope you will enjoy the journey with me. To top it all, such a positive Quebecois comment to my reaction is a privilege, given that Lara I understand now lives in Montreal. She must be a giant over there although she deserves the same across the globe. I have added your suggestions to the list. You can always find the link to all requests/suggestions on my channel page.
Ah, that would be because the second comment i.e. the one with the links didn't show in RUclips studio when I was entering your requests. RUclips does glitch a bit with the comments, so some don't show up for a while. I've updated both entries now. 😊
She left her fionce cause he betrayed her (not married yet). But she sings everything so gracefull and toucing - i have tears in my eyes every time I hear her. No matter what lyrics she delivers.
I realized later that my memory was a bit off, as I read too much information at once. However, I didn't want to re-record the first reaction as it would no longer be the first. Each of Lara's performances has been an experience to remember.
Dear Aleks, a wonderful and heartfelt reaction video, thank you ♥ Lara is absolutely wonderful and in her own category as a songwriter, singer, woman and human being ♥
Thank you so much, dear John! Of course I agree. If I didn't I'd simply stop listening to more songs by Lara. As it is, I'll keep going for a long while. Always a pleasure, with people like you and lovely comments that encourage me. ❤
@@AleksReacts Dear Aleks, thank you very much. ❤ Please note that Lara in the collaboration with the Russian composer Igor Krutoy (Mademoiselle Zhivago) 2010-2019 mostly performs playback, which is normal in Russia, and as an artist, you can choose to participate or not. Either way, it's very beautiful. In some studio broadcasts, mostly from French television, she also sings playback. For me it can be difficult to tell if it is playback or live. Let's be clear, though, that Lara just loves to sing (and she's the best) - and she prefers not to sing playback. ❤
@@AleksReacts To clarify things. What you've heard until now is live and Lara's own concerts are live - so to speak, there are only a few exceptions as mentioned. She is always honest and there is no cheating. She loves to sing and it's obvious, always! So please enjoy it ♥♥
People who can actually sing logically prefer to sing live. I know that some shows, especially older ones specifically required playback, for better sound quality I guess. As long as the artist can still do that without autotune, I do not mind. Studio versions are often more polished, but some live versions can outdo them by far. As Mademoiselle Hyde has been requested multiple times, I added your note along with the other requests. I know it may not be one, but I do want to mention you as well once I do react to it. Once again, thank you so much for watching and taking the time to exchange some thoughts with me. ❤
@@AleksReacts Thank you. ♥ About "Mademoiselle Zhivago", I'm pretty sure that "Je Suis Malade" is live and not playback. As a note I went to Lara's concerts in Plovdiv 27/4-24 and Zagreb 29/4-24, and she was absolutely magnificent. Some songs were performed better than ever. She is utter greatness ♥♥
Lara Fabian is the expression turned into music; her passionate emotion, her interpretation and her vocal technique make her a reference for so many artists. Fantastic reaction!!
One of my most favourite songs. Many singers cover this song. In fact I knew Lara through this song, many many years ago. I prefer Lara's version best, it is her song, and it is so personal to her ... as you said. So touching ... and I like your interpretation of this song.
Thank you so much! It is a beautiful song indeed, but then again, everything I've heard from Lara has been such an emotional experience. She is just amazing!
Yes you're right it was performed in The Voice in Australia 👍 from Harrison Craig. Also Josh Groban recorded his version in 2002, in an amazing way ( I love Josh Groban) in his album, but as Eric said, Lara Co-wrote it 😊.
I remembered that image so imprinted in my brain and then I managed to mix the lad up with Danial Craig 😂 You should have seen me laughing at myself minutes after I have recorded it.
🇨🇦 You are getting a lot of great comments ! The praise is deserved, you do great reactions ! So I will simply drop some more songs of hers to react to ! You have heard her French, Italian and English, so how about "Quedate" in Spanish ! If you would like to observe her process, try "I am A-WA" ! There is also her duet with Johnny Hallyday called "Requem pour un fou" ! Enjoy 🇨🇦
Once again, a handle I recognize! 😊Thank you so much for following my journey and for more than one lovely comment. It is very much appreciated. Quedate is on the list, based specifically on your request, along with Adagio. 😉 However, Requiem Pour Un Fou and I Am A-WA have now been added as well. I will get to most of them, if not all. Hope you will continue to enjoy them with me. Greetings to Canada!
Dear Alex, I knew the handle so I checked. It seems I covered all the requests you suggested, short of the whole concert From Lara with Love. You've been with me from the very start and I thank you for that! Based on how I reacted, I'm sure you know that the choices you made were excellent. 1 - Sydnie Christmas from England and recent winner of BGT. Audition with Tomorrow (from Annie), semi-finales My Way (Frank Sinatra classic) and Somewhere Over the Rainbow (not Judy Garland's classic). Her audition stunted the judges and audience and garnered a "Golden Buzz"! 2 - Angelina Jordan from Norway winner of NGT at 8 and has been providing her fans with stunning covers and originals. Appeared on AGT Champion 2 - auditioned with Bohemian Rhapsody her own arrangement which received a simple comment "WOW" from the surviving members of Queen. There are over 130+ videos of covers and originals not including several documentaries. 3 - The Philippines have some of the best singers today (not my words). My two favorites are Morissette Amon and Gigi De Lana & Gigi Vibes. I think you will also like Marcelito Pomoy who was on the same AGT show a Angelina. As a intro checkout his performance on the Wish Bus of "The Prayer". 4 - Tori Holub from the U.S.A. she is relatively new. If you know The Carpenters - checkout Tori's cover of "We Only Just Begun" 5 - Celtic Woman from Ireland. This ensemble of 5 women have the most beautiful harmonies, checkout O, America (written following 9/11) and You Raise Me Up.
Thank you so much for sharing these. Personally, I'm not a fan of My Way (except Sid Vicious' version, no clue why that one in particular), but I do like Tomorrow from Annie. 😉 Then again, LOVE Queen, so a new take on Bohemian Rhapsody might be interesting. I have no idea what to expect from Marcelito Pomoy, which is a great reason to watch him and even though I have heard some songs by The Carpenters, I don't think I ever heard We Only Just Begun. At least the title doesn't ring a bell. Finally, I do like Irish music, so Celtic Woman would be something new from Ireland for me. You've actually picked everything I haven't heard. I have heard Angelina Jordan's performances of "Gloomy Sunday" and "What a Difference a Day Makes" and it was amazing, but that was so long ago that she should be a grown up by now. Neither had a new arrangement. She was 9 or 10 years old at the time, I believe.
Just did a quick.view of your google spreadsheet...good Lord you still have 202 more to do!!! I was going to suggest a few other performers to checkout but I think I'll wait until you whittle down your list.

Since I reacted to this song, a few months ago, I have found out a lot more about Lara. Like you, I am very happy that she has found the love of her life who know who he has and how to treat her - it's usually the best people who have the most trouble finding the right person for them, but like in fairytales, often the good does win.
@@AleksReactsSiiiiiiiiiiii. Gracias 🫂
Even though I'm usually the type of person who gets attached to the first version I ever heard, I have to say in this case, Harrison's was great, but Lara's is simply better.
Wonderful, thank you ♥. This is a very personal song for Lara. Not only does she sing beautifully in many languages, but she writes great songs, too. My favorites of all her performances is Caruso. It is such a great song, and Lara does it every bit of justice. ruclips.net/video/BP2KnLemT78/видео.html
Thank you as well! We agree on Caruso, actually! It is one of my favorites too. Generally as a song I know and in Lara's rendition (along with Pavarotti's which I think is my most favorite, memories are connected to that one). If you like you can find my reaction to it on the channel in the Lara Fabian playlist. 😊
I found the link to the studio version (the cleanest one, of course): ruclips.net/video/Cp5kF94isS4/видео.html Hope you like it, it's also very emotional, his voice rings with pain and anguish as well as with the beauty of the scenes he describes.
@@AleksReacts I agree, that is a stunningly beautiful version. To this day, I still regret I didn't go and see his show in Oslo when I had the chance. I actually like the original by Lucio Dalla, too. Very emotional and vulnerable. He is not a singer of Pavarotti's caliber by any means, but he sure could convey emotion. ruclips.net/video/JqtSuL3H2xs/видео.html
Glad you liked it. 😊 Lucio Dalla's original is in the 2nd place for me, although I usually prefer originals. I do like it, but in this rare case, I prefer Pavarotti's and Lara's versions.
She's one of my fav.singer...Please react to the CARPENTERS because Karen Carpenter is my fav.singer of all time...not born in her era,i'm just 23yo but Karen voice is my theraphy.
Thank you for the suggestion. I have heard of Carpenters, and I might have even heard some of their songs played in the background, but I never actively listened. They seem to be bigger in the USA. I have added them to the list along with notes on your request. 😊
Pagbati sa Pilipinas! I will try my best to get to it soon. The list is quite a long one by now, but I do like to introduce someone new to me, from time to time. ❤
Dang it, I didn't get the notification for this, so I'm a bit late. Stupid RUclips lol. Lovely reaction, it's such a beautiful and moving song and performance. Walter was an idiot. I have to add that your captions cracked me up, you have a great sense of humor that I appreciate. Now, I know you've gotten a million suggestions for more Lara songs, and with everyone else putting in so many Lara requests I usually don't bother jumping in, BUT, I want to point out that there is a song from this concert that gets constantly overlooked. I don't know why because it's incredible. I think it's a minor crime against humanity for it to get ignored so much. Rock Star Lara comes out to play with this powerful song and leaves it all on the stage. She originally wrote this song in French and it was a big hit, but then wrote a new version in English. "To Love Again" ruclips.net/video/en9haGSdEUA/видео.htmlsi=8qk-w-SUm_e9b9e5
Thank you for the note on the captions. I like laughing, even if it's at my own expense. 😉 You're not late and it's not RUclips's fault. I'm a little "against the grain" type of person, so I turned off notifications for every single video from the very beginning. Although, you're the second person who's mentioned the notifications issue. Should those be on for all videos? Somehow, I feel it's pushy to keep them on. I mean, I keep thinking this way people can see what they want when they want to, instead of having everyone pinged all the time... Of course, I've added your suggestion. I'll try to get to it in time. Should I listen to the French original or the English version?
@@AleksReacts Oh definitely turn on the notifications. Let the subscribers decide if they want them. It's not at all being pushy. (Ok I totally rewrote my response 😅) There are so many great performances of this song, it's easy to get carried away. But the performance in this concert, with the full band, deserves more love. If you want to do a double reaction and do a French version as well that would be cool, and I can pick a good one for you. It's always fun to hear her different versions.
Hmm, never occurred to me to do both. Sure, let's go with a double reaction on this one - might be fun. Please pick the one you like in English and another one in French, links would help. 😊 Still not sure about the notifications. I'm currently happy with the less intrusive channel, as I'm not a fan of people who ask for subs, comments, like, notifications. Those things are turned on by default and not everyone tracks what they're doing with the channels they're subscribed to. I planned never to turn them on, but I will think about it thanks to your suggestion. Maybe later down the road...

We all have those moments when we think we'll never get up again. It is a great thing that Lara overcomes those with a song, isn't it? Both for her and for all others who might have that same feeling in life, as her songs are beautiful indeed. Thank you so much for your comment! ❤❤❤
Broken Vow has been extensively covered in The Voice around the globe:
- Harrison Craig - Australia 2013
- Julien Mior Lambert - France 2013
- Alaric Green - UK 2016
- Milana - Russia 201
- Phil - Germany (Kids) 2020
- Hakob - France 2020
- Xanne - belgium (flemish) 2021
- Simão Pereira - Portugal 2022
- Alexander Perov - Bulgaria 2022
- Håkon Sønsterud Tollefsrød - Norway 2024
But also in other programs such as Indonesian Idol or Opera Idol Israel
Many singers have covered the song as well, other than on the competition shows. Josh Groban had one of his biggest hits with it in 2002.
@@dcchiasson5991 i gave a long list of these in my initial comment. Even Barbra Steisand covered it!
All filipinos singers covered it as the song was used in the soundtrack of a taiwanese tv series that appeared to be extremely popular over there.

And last week Lara sang it again in Paris, in duet with a famous lebanese singer, Hiba Tawaji, who is a superstar in middle east:

Thank you so much, Eric! As the point of the channel is to see artists I haven't seen before and I haven't watched the Voice in several years, I've gone ahead and added this to the list.
Lara was, is and will remain an exceptional artist.
I have already said this a number of times, but it can't hurt to say it again - she is amazing! In every way.

She had several breakups but never divorced. She has been and is still married to her husband Gabriel.
She was engaged with Walter when he cheated and she broke before the marriage.
She wrote the lyrics on the song they had co-composed … and he directed the album recording 😂

Every time I hear this song, I can’t help crying a bit. ❤️ So touching and real.

Then again, looking at your profile picture, I'd say I have an idea as to why you know.😉
What I agree with the most is that singers who don't need props in the form of make-up, glitter, dancers or worst of all, excessive display of their body are usually the ones you can't take your eyes off.
Ooops, I got the instrument wrong. Should have clicked the full image to begin with instead of looking at the little picture next to the handle. 😂
Yes Lara Fabian is a beautiful woman and when she sings she becomes the most beautiful woman in the world. That Walter guy..Who cheated on her was not the smartest Walter in the world If I may say so. Thank you for a great reaction.🎉❤

I think this is one of the most accurate descriptions of what Lara wanted to say with this song ❤

She said in an interview that this song is her favorite english song that she wrote
I can't say I have a favorite. Every song I heard by her is a masterpiece in its own way. Still, it's her song, she knows best why that one in particular.
@@AleksReacts Agree, a lot of masterpiece from her,
The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian.
One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests:
- Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it),
- Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US, she is her friend and role model and he made several duets with her),
- Linda Eder,
- Cakra Khan,
- Gigi de Lana,
- Regine Velasquez,
- Almira (from 4th Impact),
- Katrina Velarde,
- Julie Anne San Jose,
- Sarah Geronimo,
- Morissette Amon,
- Petra Berger,
- Harrison Craig,
- Rimar,
- Jackie Evancho,
- …
For Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.
But the original from Lara remains the absolute reference
ruclips.net/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/видео.html
I am so glad I got one thing right, i.e. that he did cheat on her and that was the only thing I wasn't (incorrectly) sure of when listening to her performance. Once again, thank you so much for all the time you invested in teaching me more about Lara's life and music!
I first heard Broken Vow by Josh Groban on his Josh Groban in Concert in the early 2000s - didn't know Lara wrote the lyrics and never heard of Lara until 2023! Now I listen to her or those who reaction to her performances every day. Eric Sicard explain some details what was the impetus behind this song in his comment below.
You probably know how I felt when I heard a song I knew well and realized I had no clue whose song it really is and what the original sounds like. 😂

@@AleksReacts Dear Aleks, thank you very much. ❤
Please note that Lara in the collaboration with the Russian composer Igor Krutoy (Mademoiselle Zhivago) 2010-2019 mostly performs playback, which is normal in Russia, and as an artist, you can choose to participate or not.

She is a lady. And a singer of high class.
I was at the Josh Groban Concert about 15 years ago and then I heard this song for the first time.

Yes you're right it was performed in The Voice in Australia 👍 from Harrison Craig. Also Josh Groban recorded his version in 2002, in an amazing way ( I love Josh Groban) in his album, but as Eric said, Lara Co-wrote it 😊.

I don't want to go anywhere, but Tango has been suggested a few times, so I went ahead and added yours. 😉
If you know The Carpenters - checkout Tori's cover of "We Only Just Begun"
5 - Celtic Woman from Ireland.
Her best English-speaking performance.
I can't choose, I really just like Lara...
Just did a quick.view of your google spreadsheet...good Lord you still have 202 more to do!!! I was going to suggest a few other performers to checkout but I think I'll wait until you whittle down your list.
No, go ahead please. It would be good to mix in a few totally new ones. 😊

Since I reacted to this song, a few months ago, I have found out a lot more about Lara. Like you, I am very happy that she has found the love of her life who know who he has and how to treat her - it's usually the best people who have the most trouble finding the right person for them, but like in fairytales, often the good does win.

This song has been covered by other persons like Josh Groban, Chakra Kan. But her's remains the best.

@@AleksReacts Likewise ma'am...please react to their song SUPERSTAR..from here Philippines.
You're not late and it's not RUclips's fault.
Still not sure about the notifications.
@@AleksReacts Cool! Your Lara fans will get a fantastic surprise! You can choose which order to do them, here's the French original, Si Tu M'aimes (If You Love Me) from 1998: ruclips.net/video/9YuNtZDjMRY/видео.htmlsi=fow_4ugay2Fo-NI5
English, To Love Again, From Lara With Love concert: ruclips.net/video/en9haGSdEUA/видео.htmlsi=OYHeUSYUelvhGoNs
Thank you! I'll be sure to get to this one, this really sounds like a fun one for me. 😊
