That phenomenon is often called “parasocial relationships.” It happens when fans feel a strong personal connection to a public figure, like a RUclipsr, even though the relationship is one-sided. The RUclipsr doesn’t actually know the fans personally, but because they share so much of their life or content, the followers start to feel like they know them intimately, like a friend. It’s pretty common with influencers and other online creators nowadays. That is the reason why people used casual or “rude” way to ask questions or even personal questions.
I also think sometimes the internet creates a feeling of disconnect from people to people, which results in users talking in very rude ways, intentionally or not... Being polite and having common sense should also be the norm online 😅 Thank you for this interesting episode! ❤
