If I was an executive at a network bidding for NBA broadcasting rights, I would make Chuck, Kenny, Ernie, and Shaq an offer they couldn't refuse. With them as a lead into the NBA game, that would be great for the ratings and thus great for business. I would take all the people who worked behind the scenes on the show if that was their condition.

Hit the nail on the head. Warner Bros. Discovery really messed up a good thing with the NBA broadcast rights. I for one am not surprised, considering all their IPs are not doing great at the moment.

Stephen A this is a travesty, a tragedy. Its Repulsive. The fact they are trying to take inside the NBA away from us is almost insulting. They have been a staple for years and years. Im 34 and ive been watching since I was a kid and i wouldn’t trade it for any other show on TV. Literally til this day i wake up and start my day with them to catch up on anything i missed. We should petition or something, maybe they can start their own show on YT but i just cant imagine the NBA without this show. It will never be the same…

I remember Chuck telling Draymond Green, "I don't wanna die on TV". He talked about how he wanted to spend the sunset of his life traveling the world, playing golf, and having fun. I think the TV deal falling through between the NBA and TNT is giving him the opportunity to do that.
The key words Barkley said were that he’s “retiring from television”. Still leaves the door open to streaming. Whether it’s with his production company or another venture, he’s gonna be on a screen somewhere.

Chuckster is going on 62. He’s just taking everything as a sign. He lives in Phoenix. He has to fly back and forth to Atlanta. He tired of it. Hep tried to leave about 10 years ago, but Kenny and the crew talked him back into it. He will retire from network TV, but you will see him online and guest appearances.

You premise on chuck staying is that he’s still fairly young and has a number of years left. BUT he has stated numerous times that he doesn’t want to work til the day he dies so there’s a real good chance he’ll go for good. As sad as it is, he earned it and more.

If NBA and ABA De-Merged, Brought(Bought) The Supersonics Sonics Back with the ABA, and made TNT the primary broadcaster for the ABA, they might eventually be able to change the name ABA to IBA(International Basketball Association). In the future I could see a partnership with the Olympics and IBA, and the IBA championship taking place on that platform...
Chuck has been saying this retirement thing every contract year. He might be done with TNT, but a different channel or his own podcast/RUclips channel is a different story.

TNT TV Deal. Ive been peeping it. Charles is not happy. Shaq and Charles have been really talking a lot about it. Not a financial advisor, but TNT is owned by Warner Bros. who is a publicly traded company. One thing Ive learned about these deals, you gotta act like you're gonna walk. Shaq and Charles are using leverage to put on Warner Bros. and TNT to give up the bag.

I absolutely love Charles Barkley. He was a world class athlete, but he has the gift of being able to relate to common people the way other athletes just can’t. He is all too human, and the way that he understands his weaknesses and is able to laugh at himself makes him a man in full. If the man really does retire he deserves it, but I hope it isn’t true. He is a necessary voice
