    Season 14, Episode 145 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday episode, which was recorded late Thursday evening Alex Kozora and I start by discussing several of the comments made by Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan during his Thursday afternoon interview on 93.7 The Fan.
    Khan talked a little about the team's decision to not pick up the fifth-year option on RB Najee Harris in May in addition to saying the team still could work out a contract extension with the former first-round draft pick. We go over the likelihood of Harris signing an extension before the 2024 regular season and much more related to things Khan said about the running back.
    Khan also talked about the addition of CB Cameron Sutton on Thursday and how the team has no idea if a suspension is coming for the player. Khan also gave us several other talking points to discuss related to players.
    With the Steelers 2024 mandatory minicamp now finished, Alex and I discuss several notable things that came out of the three-day session. We discuss the side rookie OT Troy Fautanu is likely to play. We also discuss the overall health of the Steelers coming out of their annual mandatory minicamp with a lot of our focus being on whether ILB Cole Holcomb will be ready to practice once training camp gets underway in July.
    Several of the Steelers defensive coaches talked on Thursday so we go over what DC Teryl Austin and others on that side of the football had to say during their media sessions. We talk about the slot cornerback position, the usage of S Minkah Fitzpatrick in 2024, and the early summer development of third-year DL DeMarvin Leal.
    There’s been quite a bit of praise for rookie ILB Payton Wilson these last several days so Alex and I focus on that topic in this show. We also talk a little bit about second-year offensive lineman Spencer Anderson seemingly moving to guard primarily this offseason.
    Several other minor topics not noted are also discussed in this 80-minute episode and we end it by going over some silly major media comments made these last several days.

    Love Najee the person but as a back he's a C+/B- player. He is solid at everything, exceptional at nothing (stiff arm maybe?), and is incapable of hitting a home run. Wouldn't be mad if he did get resigned but I don't think he's irreplaceable in the draft or FA next year.

      They are building a run focused offense finally. They should sign their best back

      @@bordy217 I wonder if that was part of the "business decision". Two dogs one bone type scenario where they'll pay whoever excels between Naj and Jaylen.

      Exactly, he’s been outproduced by an UDFA over past 2 seasons. Despite all of the play calling, etc. excuses, he rarely makes anyone miss at the second level.

      @jagmd Месяц назад +1

      @@TheFactsMob I’m not saying he can’t do it alone. What I’m saying is that Najee isn’t some elite irreplaceable back when the UDFA is the better back on the team, imo.

      @@jagmd Except he's not. You probably thought Pollard was better than Zeke too. We saw what happened when Pollard was asked to be the guy. I can't believe how many steelers fans disliked Better and his 3.9 average and Franco with his 4.1. Volume backs have lower YPCs because they are asked to run in run down situations.

    I believe Najee Harris is the BEST RB on the team. He’s certainly the most durable, that gives him a leg up because Jaylen,I don’t think could take the pounding. Also, I don’t consider Patterson a viable starter at this point in his career.

    Why can't the Steelers wait until cut down day to get a recevier
    Next yr need to sign qb rb if they trade for aiyuk they'll have 60 mil tied up in two receviers no qb no running back wonder with offensive tackle would b the best running backs they'll Have Benton and nobody on d line
    If they keep being cheap with some paying others. Players will want to play for Tomlin and won't want to come here BECAUSE OF KAHN

      He hasn’t even been the best back in the team, never mind the league. Warren is averaging almost a full yard per carry more than Najee over their careers.
