- In a significant stride towards prioritizing accessible and top-tier healthcare, Governor Abdi Guyo has successfully overseen the completion of a 60-bed capacity ward bloc at Bisan Biliqo Health Centre, funded by the World Bank.
Expressing his gratitude for the financial backing from the World Bank, Governor Guyo emphasized the pivotal role this state-of-the-art healthcare facility will play in providing essential medical services to the local community, irrespective of their geographical remoteness or socio-economic status.
Governor Guyo outlined his commitment to further equip the facility with cutting-edge medical machinery and deploy specialized medical personnel. This strategic move aims to curtail referrals to the Isiolo County Teaching and Referral Hospital (ICTRH), effectively mitigating congestion at the regional healthcare hub.
"I extend my sincere appreciation to the World Bank for endorsing our appeal to finance the construction of this crucial healthcare infrastructure. From my perspective, this development will significantly improve the overall quality of life for individual community members," Governor Guyo remarked.
He added that the newly established ward bloc at Biliqo Health Centre will ensure prompt access to healthcare, fostering better health outcomes, reducing suffering, and ultimately increasing life expectancy among locals.
The envisaged impact of the healthcare centre extends beyond curative measures; it is poised to support preventive care initiatives such as vaccination programs, health education, and screenings. These efforts are anticipated to play a crucial role in disease prevention, thereby alleviating the burden on the healthcare systems in the County.
Governor Guyo's visionary goal is to ensure that, by 2025, every resident in the county has access to quality and affordable healthcare. His administration is steadfast in its commitment to responding effectively to diverse health challenges, fostering a healthier and more resilient community in Isiolo.
Is the project complete? It is past March.
