Really cut it fine today, literally just finished the video. There's some odd circumstances in this one. Also if there's anywhere you'd like to see me cover then let me know. Have a great Friday / weekend. Be safe all
Never underestimate the crazy things toddlers will do. When my son was 3, we were attending an event on Sauvie's Island. He started to walk off through the crowd. Out of curiosity, instead of stopping him, I followed. He walked in a straight line through the crowd, through the adjacent field and toward the woods. Maybe 1/2 a mile before I stopped him. He never once looked back. And he covered that ground fairly quickly. Always be diligent.
I've seen toddlers swallow food without chewing, almost choke, and then try to use their toy cars as roller skates, in the span of 15 minutes. Maybe I'm just overcautious haha
That's what always gets me about those stories where they're like "this 4 year old was found MILES from where his parents lost him, this is impossible for the child to do on its own" because like, no. No, it is absolutely *not* unusual nor supernatural. Toddlers have a lot of energy, move a lot faster than you'd think, and don't have the cognitive ability of adults. They don't think rationally. A toddler would walk for miles in a straight line if they felt like it and nobody stopped them. Many of these toddler/small child disappearances can easily be chalked up to parental negligence, sadly
@@lanceupperrcut not even intentional negligence either. in some it's clear the parents THOUGHT they were doing it right... but weren't and found out the tragic way.

The first one always bothered me. Mostly because my father had some harsh things to say about the father. Along the lines of, what kind of idiot goes into the Cascades without a fire kit and then leaves his kid, wet and weak behind. Even in the late 50s and early 60s, we always carried a canteen, both of us had fire starting materials, sandwiches etc, for a day of hunting. Except, if we were dealing with an advanced race, they could be making us look like toddlers in intelligence, disappearing our people, and using lights as a distraction. Bcuz in the first story, the lights only separated James Sr. from his son (who then is moved and mysteriously found perished where they already searched).
I really like your channel it has real stories about real people, unlike Donovan Dread's channel where he leads you on and never shows pictures or video that he says he has at the beginning of the video. Your stories tell what's going on and what isn't. Keep up the good work.
To give a bit of perspective on the terrain there. Multnomah Falls, is at the Western end (sort of) the Colombia River Gorge. It cuts right through the Cascade mountains, like a knife, and the walls are pretty much straight up and down. The whole range is part of the Rim of Fire. When you see a aerial picture of the forest, it gives the impression of rolling terrain with the occasional mountain sticking up. What the trees hide is the terrain underneath, which is extremely steep. A mile as the Crow flies, is about three miles on the ground on average. On the East Coast of the US the tallest mountain is 5,000 feet, out here that is a tall hill. From Portland it is a 1.5 hour drive to Mt. Hood. Portland is about 250 feet above MSL, Mt Hood is a bit over 15,000 feet MSL Just the North side of Mt. Hood has 15 experienced climbers, that will not be coming back. Mt Mazama (Crater Lk.) is sneakier about it but, it gets its fair share. When you decide to go into the woods out here there are plenty of Rattlesnakes, Cougers and Bears, and while Sasquatch tends to avoid people they aren't always friendly. What the father was thinking. To bring his son out to Larch Mt. so unprepared, is just blindingly dumb. In Portland, go to the REI store, or call Clackamas Mountain Rescue, for the list of 10 basic things to ALWAYS have with you, when stepping out. It isn't rocket science.
i think the father in the first story was delirious, hallucinated, then the boy in a panic of losing his father wandered to find him and got lost. really sad story it seems.
My 8 year old daughter would have done the same. She would have never left my side no matter how irrational I was to act in a delusional state. But also as a father not knowing what to do and terrified how to help his child survive, i don't know what I would have been able to do
And the lights? Being found in an area searched multiple times? Unless the facts are a complete fabrication it’s highly possible something got the dad to chase lights then took the kid for whatever purpose then put his body back. There are a lot of cases that are eerily similar to this one. Not saying you are wrong. Just wondering how you reconcile with the strangeness here.
The 2-year-old traveling 6 miles in freezing temps, low temperatures even, in a thick, rugged forest is bizarre!! I believe something nefarious happened.
My gf and I saw a candle orangish orb of light in July 2015, greyson county Kentucky, outside caneyville, horse branch area. Before dark, we were standing on our front porch, and we was getting ready to go to bed. As we were talking, we see all these fireflies coming off the grass, it was the most fireflies I have ever seen in my life, reminded me of how many I'd used to see as a kid. But then after a few minutes went by, it was like they had just....went away, and there wasn't many left, and this this weird fog comes through, like kinda fast, looked like a movie set. Well our of the corner of my eye, behind her mom's house (our only direct neighbor) from the woods, I see this candle orangish orb come up from the woods and it stops. Well as we was still talking I turned to look at my girl and I see her eyes look right passed me, in the direction of the orb, this all happened really fast. So I stop talking, turn around and point at it "whoa whoa whoa, wtf is that!?!?" And then it slowly comes towards us and stops like 10 feet above us, my girl goes into the worst panic attack I've ever seen, she's trynna yell help but nothing coming out really. I remember saying" baby idk what we are looking at right now, but I need to get you to your mom's house". So halfway holding her up, I walk her to her mom's, and I look back and it's trailing us. We get 10 feet from the door, she darts inside, and I turn around and stare at the orb for what seemed like the longest 10 seconds of my life. The. In a split second, it goes from sitting still, to gone into the cloud at a curved like 45° angle, at the speed of a bullet. It never made a noise, was about 4-5ft im diameter, and didn't looked like it had a fixed shaped, or dimensions to it.
I think you've done it before, Antarctica has the Shackelton story. there were the lost scientists, also the mass exodus of high profile celebrities and leaders who traveled there in small groups including a pope some other religious leaders. What were they really looking for/find? Also I forget the guys name off the top of my head who disappeared while having a rope teather connecting the two buildings about 100ft away from eachother.Aftre a long search however he was never found. Love the stories, thanks for the hard work work.
I don't see how people can't think something bizarre(😉)is happening, when the stories keep stacking up,of baby after baby after baby,is found 5 or 6 or 12 miles from where they were last seen..and remember walking in a forested or wild area, means many more miles than "air miles". 🤨
The lights in the first story sound like Will o the Wisp. Such lights have a long history, and frequently lure travelers into dangerous terrain. Edit. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge. Future video?
It is strange how they are often found in the same places that were already searched although in James case he likely struggled along before collapsing and dying in that very spot from hyperthermia after it had ready been searched by the search parties it was simply a matter of bad luck and timing that he didn't manage to be found before he perished
Im going wild camping next year in the Outer Hebrides and Cairngorms National Park in Scotland, can anyone give me some advice to stay safe, I dont want to end up in one of David Paulides books.
Keep a tracking device on you that someone knows how to access. Put it around your neck, wrist, or ankle. If it has the ability to call for help, use it the moment anything weird pops up. Be safe and have a wonderful trip!!
@@littleredwitch There are 4 basic types of Elementals representing the 4 elements . Earth , fire , air & water. The Fae/Gnomes are the obvious go-to's regarding the woods & forests. However I personally do not believe that all the blame should lay at their door. There's 'something else' involved here. If a trip to the wilderness is planned I don't think it would do any harm to ask for protection from the earth spirits/beings whilst you're out there. I certainly would.
Carried his son for 3 hours and left him at a area he knew he will get back to him while he check the lights and he was gone when he came back to him it’s not your fault man those things take people
I wonder why search and rescue don't have body cams when looking for a missing person? I ask because without it SAR personnel finding someone in a place they had already searched can be chocked up to hearsay but if the body cam footage verifies that a missing person indeed wasn't there the 1st time, and if the autopsy confirma that they were dead before the SAR checked the place the first time would legally guarantee a foul play interpretation which is very important, not only for uncovering what happened but also for closure for the family and friends of the missing person.
It is entirely possible that someone hook him. It is known that everything from seriel killers and other sketch bad people that hang out in National and State Parks looking for victims. Awful but true.
Dad, in first story, abandoned his son to save himself. His story of following lights is some bs he made up to make himself feel better about leaving his child to die.
@@Your_Entire_Reality_Is_A_Lie 😂😂😂 no David the fraud is known for those. Also known for lying, exaggerating or omitting the truth and making up stories to fit his narrative to sell books. You dummy.
Can't understand why you wouldn't watch your kid. 30 seconds of oxygen loss to the brain or a mild head injury can permanently reduce their quality of life.
@@Your_Entire_Reality_Is_A_Lie so apparently there was a dog with the father and son when they started there trip but midway in the mtn the son got injured and the dad went to go look for help and left his son and dog behind but when the dad came back with help only the dog was the only one there and some items of his sons were just hanging in a tree nearby also forgot to mention that the dog was acting all weird when the dad found him and the dad also saw distinct lights above him during the winter storm that seem to vanish as he tried to get closer to them
There are millions of forests and parks and each area always has its own back story in history. Often wonder if these happen close to or in sacred grounds or where something sinister once occurred making it a dark place to be. In saying this the creepy factor comes into play when these missing people are found in those areas already searched. How the heck can that happen ? Truly baffling. and sorry honey but before I say it was gods plan id sooner believe in little green men, mountain men or even the allusive Sasquatch lol.

It was 1961…
@@margiemack4735 Yes it was, and the point of that is?
i think the father in the first story was delirious, hallucinated, then the boy in a panic of losing his father wandered to find him and got lost. really sad story it seems.
I agree
My 8 year old daughter would have done the same. She would have never left my side no matter how irrational I was to act in a delusional state. But also as a father not knowing what to do and terrified how to help his child survive, i don't know what I would have been able to do
The father in the first story James didn’t become delirious . His son did.
Ya no one is carrying a body for 3 hours.
I used to live in Corbett Oregon. Wow this video I had to re watch it twice
I think they are hallucinating from exhaustion when they see lights..
Happy Thanksgiving
The 2-year-old traveling 6 miles in freezing temps, low temperatures even, in a thick, rugged forest is bizarre!! I believe something nefarious happened.
Perfect timing my guy, just got off work.. All nestled up in bed 😬👌👽
First story is very sad, leaving the boy, think he found he couldn’t find him?
But separating means that even the father was very lucky to survive!
Kudos to you for pronouncing all the names right!
As Gollum says, "Don't. Follow. The. Lights!!"
ADAM HERE
Having lived here many years I’ve never heard of these lol
I'd rather stay together and die together than live with the thought my child died alone !!!!!!!
Sounds like the dad took the kid out there to be abandoned like Hansel n Gretel.
It is strange how they are often found in the same places that were already searched although in James case he likely struggled along before collapsing and dying in that very spot from hyperthermia after it had ready been searched by the search parties it was simply a matter of bad luck and timing that he didn't manage to be found before he perished
Just wondering. With the first story what should the father have done when court in that snow storm
Held onto the kid tied s lead between them anything but let them get separated.
@@dzdominator thankyou
I will never go in the woods alone again.specially at night. Or on a full moon .some know what I'm talking about..
What's the ratio of disappearances we can with 100% certainty disqualify being taken?
Im going wild camping next year in the Outer Hebrides and Cairngorms National Park in Scotland, can anyone give me some advice to stay safe, I dont want to end up in one of David Paulides books.

Keep a tracking device on you that someone knows how to access. Put it around your neck, wrist, or ankle.
If it has the ability to call for help, use it the moment anything weird pops up.
Be safe and have a wonderful trip!!

I think Jess wandered by himself. If he had been taken, why didn't he say anything about this person or persons?
First case got taken by the elements of the Winter forest.
In your mind, what would you think the elementals would do to a young child? They are Little People aren’t they?
@@littleredwitch
There are 4 basic types of Elementals representing the 4 elements .
❤️
Carried his son for 3 hours and left him at a area he knew he will get back to him while he check the lights and he was gone when he came back to him it’s not your fault man those things take people

When it comes to scouts and counselors...I always blame a counselor. Nothing mysterious about male predators.
@0:16 ... could've just referred to them as James Jr. & James Sr.
Wonder if it was the seasoning people
Thanks, but I miss more contemporary weird disappearances stores with interesting analysis but the art is just fine
General rule of thumb when ur out in rural or forested landscapes is to never spilt up from your party unless you have radio communication bruh.
Instant no go for me, started off with misinformation right away. Larch is in Washington not Portland Oregon
There are things that exist... lurking... trust me 🙀😲😮😱🤯
I wonder why search and rescue don't have body cams when looking for a missing person? I ask because without it SAR personnel finding someone in a place they had already searched can be chocked up to hearsay but if the body cam footage verifies that a missing person indeed wasn't there the 1st time, and if the autopsy confirma that they were dead before the SAR checked the place the first time would legally guarantee a foul play interpretation which is very important, not only for uncovering what happened but also for closure for the family and friends of the missing person.
Great point but sounds expensive
It is entirely possible that someone hook him. It is known that everything from seriel killers and other sketch bad people that hang out in National and State Parks looking for victims. Awful but true.
Hell Yes! OREGON IS THE NORTH BLEST!!❤️503❤️🍄🦉NKN
Hey I left my son in -zero Degree weather last night.....u think he's still alive 🤓
Gail got abducted by non humans
The title says bizarre disappearances in Oregon, and then the video starts and you hear someone that isnt American, that's bizarre
Dad, in first story, abandoned his son to save himself. His story of following lights is some bs he made up to make himself feel better about leaving his child to die.
Yes it can happen to some parents in the final stages of self preservation.
Doubtful
Maybe he suffered hypothermia and removed his jacket feeling hot?
James Sr and James Jr would of been easier, just saying
Bro don’t go to the red lights

@@Your_Entire_Reality_Is_A_Lie 😂😂😂 no David the fraud is known for those. Also known for lying, exaggerating or omitting the truth and making up stories to fit his narrative to sell books. You dummy.
I was under the impression (because of the title) that these disappearances were exclusively in Oregon, but interesting and creepy nonetheless
👍👍
Old story 1 heard before
Can't understand why you wouldn't watch your kid. 30 seconds of oxygen loss to the brain or a mild head injury can permanently reduce their quality of life.
Bro u missed the dog that was with the son in the first story and a lot more details were missing
@@Your_Entire_Reality_Is_A_Lie so apparently there was a dog with the father and son when they started there trip but midway in the mtn the son got injured and the dad went to go look for help and left his son and dog behind but when the dad came back with help only the dog was the only one there and some items of his sons were just hanging in a tree nearby also forgot to mention that the dog was acting all weird when the dad found him and the dad also saw distinct lights above him during the winter storm that seem to vanish as he tried to get closer to them
So great for u man keep watching this channel everybody is entitled to there own opinion seems like ur hurt for no reason
