Hey all old school korean guy here I just wanted to point out that Hi-fives influence goes beyond borders as they were very influential in Asia Korea specifically! this particular song and video was a major themes that the K-Pop industry modeled itself on as it has a soft highschool romance vibe. The first prototype group to BTS was a group in the 90s called H.O.T or (hi five of teenagers!) we all new where they got their name from and we were worried lol if you watch the dance correography and watch 90s kpop dance it’s similar. I believe hifive were one of the first of the hip hop r&b groups that were marketed to teens as bbd had aged pas the market. But there you go
This my fav of theirs, they could have replaced New Edition, but they didn't last, and then Jodeci came along and changed the game to another level. It crazy how regular it was for teens to come up back then, now half the new artists be 25!

Yo I'm glad someone brought up the fact that Treston Irby wasn't actually singing the vocals in the hook of this song. He was lip syncing to what Toriano Easley originally sang. It worked tho cuz Treston's face and build went perfectly with a voice like Toriano's though. He had that kind of voice. I've heard Treston sing live and he doesn't have the swag and polish to his vocals as Toriano did. Sometimes I wonder what could've been had Toriano never gone to jail and stayed with the group the whole time. A voice like his should be praised and never forgotten whenever possible. So sad he had to make a mistake when he was 17 and got kicked out the group as a result. Such a waste of such immense talent and potential...
