    Great job. I've never thought about splitting/cutting the 8" block for 'stepping in a foundation'. I always used a brick size CMU....never know how the next generation will bring a project together.

    I appreciate your videos, they're very well done. I have a 1200 sqft house built in 1910 on pier and beam of some sort. Have you ever dug around a house and poured a foundation in order to upgrade the foundation? Mine is sliding down a hill slightly, they won't let me build new so I have to save the structure. I was thinking about cutting up the subfloor inside so I can build forms so that I can fill concrete up until it hits the bottom of the walls. I can't find anything about this. Also sir, if we built this wall 4 to 6 inches away from the failing wall, could we just fill the gap with gravel or dirt? ,I intend to do this for ease of getting mortor all the way around the block, without working against the dirt wall, is this OK to do, I don't mind losing 6 inches of width of the crawl space, thank you for a response, I wish I could just pay some one to fo this, but when your old and live on social security, just paying the bills is rough, not to mention a car repair once in a while, thanks,again for helping a old-timer out

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete

      The only thing you have to be concerned with is water getting trapped in-between the walls.
      Maybe seal the top in between the walls or make some drain holes at the bottom, or both

    • @420edu7
      @420edu7 5 лет назад

      @@OdellCompleteConcrete yep, this is under the house so it's pretty well protected against any elements or water ,and I was thinking of some sort of drain pipe also on the bottom with weep holes for drainage to the simp pump, the only water that really makes it in is from the west side of the house where the snow builds up and on warm days it melts fast , so I think I'll be ok, thank you for the advice , much appreciated

    Hello., I have a house , 70 years old, no basement, just a crawl space, but where the furnace is, you can stand, it's about 6 ft wide ten ft deep, half is block, and the other half is a failing wood wall, I suspect it was all wood at one time, and now the woos is failing on the remaining side, question, there is a cement floor , can I drill holes for rebar and start setting block on top of the concrete floor with mortor under the first row? The house covers from th he elements so I'm OK with that but is this a fees able fix for a four foot high six to eight foot long block wall to replace the failing wood wall?
