I’m having a block fence built for my home right now... 6’ and 290 feet and the company is using, almost, no rebar is being used. I pinged 4 rebar total with metal detector in about 100’ that is completed. I’m in Colorado. After seeing your video I think I should question but maybe different in Colorado?? The only thing you have to be concerned with is water getting trapped in-between the walls. Maybe seal the top in between the walls or make some drain holes at the bottom, or both
@@OdellCompleteConcrete yep, this is under the house so it's pretty well protected against any elements or water ,and I was thinking of some sort of drain pipe also on the bottom with weep holes for drainage to the simp pump, the only water that really makes it in is from the west side of the house where the snow builds up and on warm days it melts fast , so I think I'll be ok, thank you for the advice , much appreciated

What is the process for raising the front of the wall that is shorter? would I remove the caps and smooth clean and then using mortar and stone blocks raise it up or should I follow another process?

Man I wish a saw this video sooner! I've been building a 55' wall starting at 4 blocks high then down to 3 blocks to 2 blocks(actually 3 but 1 is under driveway line) split about 18' before each step. Anyways I went way overkill! I put vertical rebar in each column(2 per block) and horizontal rebar at each block stack then filled everything with quicrete.
I watched your son filling the the holes with concrete, but I did not see a vibration tool used to make sure air removed from the freshly pure concrete so it properly sits on the bottom?
Hello., I have a house , 70 years old, no basement, just a crawl space, but where the furnace is, you can stand, it's about 6 ft wide ten ft deep, half is block, and the other half is a failing wood wall, I suspect it was all wood at one time, and now the woos is failing on the remaining side, question, there is a cement floor , can I drill holes for rebar and start setting block on top of the concrete floor with mortor under the first row? The house covers from th he elements so I'm OK with that but is this a fees able fix for a four foot high six to eight foot long block wall to replace the failing wood wall?

Yes vertical #4 rebar every 32" and two horizontals middle and top. Grouted where steel occurs. This is a very strong system.

May have to jack up the house. Maybe 6"s. Then do one wall at a time and shim off the new until complete. Then drop the house down

check with your local building department, because every area is different

I don't know, drill some pilot holes in the concrete and check the depth.
If its over 6"s, it should work.
If not maybe stick with new wood.
