Definitely K2SO's lines, I know and Holdo and Leia saying "May the force be with you" at the same time. Kinda made me tear up knowing she passed away. A touching moment indeed
That was a great spot to introduce comedy. That was a fun spot! They did it so much in other movies that made them just cringe worthy. Rogue One was a decent movie.
Poe's nonverbal suggestion is definitely one my fav pickup moments in movies. Usually the actors rub a kneecap, or you hear a line like "Let's get outta here!" or "I really wanna thank you." Poe kept the PG-13 rating by not talking, & adult viewers laughed knowingly.
Chopper is also up there for me. Initially I didn't like Chop, but it quickly grew on me. Him "killing" another droid because it would've been useful on the ship is one of my favorite Star Wars moments.
What’s funny is what Doug Walker said about that “I know” line. He said that it would have been fascinating for that to have been the last words exchanged between Han and Ben just after being stabbed.
That would have been awesome. The question is what would have been most impactful, for Han to have said to Ben in his dying breath "I love you" and Ben responds "I know" Or Ben tells Han "I'm sorry.." and Han in his dying breath saying "I know" (understanding that his son was still in there but was losing the battle with the dark side)?
Actually, the original Kasdan ESB script called for Solo to say "I love you, too", but after multiple shoots, it didn't feel right, according to Kirschner, so he finally said, "Harrison, just say whatever comes to mind", and that's really how it happened
#2 is also a callback to TFA as Han's first line to Leia was about her hair being different. Considering the time between the two is only supposed to be a matter of days at most, it makes sense she'd mention it.
Technically it was! When filming Empire Strikes Back, the guy in the Vader suit (David Prowse) said "No, Obi-Wan killed your father." Only the director Irvin Kirshner, George Lucas and Mark Hamill were told about the "No, I am your father."-line. So the original script that all the actors saw, didn't actually say "No, I am your father."!
@@MattSaysHello Yep. So, while watching it when it finished, Harrison Ford turns to Mark Hamill, and says 'you never fucking told me that!' About the line.
Unscripted moments in this franchise is always great, but personally, there’s always a bigger fish by Qui Gon Jinn. Classic Liam Nesson. He’s a legend. Also, today it is quite fitting as it’s Harrison ford’s birthday.
Harrison Ford deciding to use "I know" instead of "Just remember that because I'll be back" was a good decision. I like all of these unscripted moments.
Can we all take a moment to acknowledge something good about a Disney Star Wars movie before the hate comments inevitably roll in? And don't say the credits. I'll start. The hallway scene in Rogue One. EDIT: I did this so we could appreciate Star Wars again. Thanks for reminding me how much I hate this fanbase.
@@m3tamorphosissystem250 The throne room scene was cool but killing Snoke derailed everything. Same with the final battle. It was cool but killing Rey over Kylo once again derailed everything in my opinion. Kylo should have lived and had to atone for his sins. Not just die like Vader and be absolved of them. Poor writing.
The better part of the K2S0 part with Cassian is the reason Diego is laughing is because Tudyk actually hit him while saying the line which made Diego laugh while trying to cover it up. lol
Obi wan saying “I loved you” to anakin was improvised. He was supposed to say “you were my brother anakin I love you”, but Ewan thought it would be more fitting to say “loved”
Definitely makes it more tragic & shows that Obi-Wan despite earlier having told Anakin that he's lost, Obi-Wan never stopped had anything but love for his adopted son/younger brother & that he's hoping that ever so slightly Anakin could remember that no matter what happened next
Of course he knew! He knew that back on Endor. It's the second best line in the entire franchise and pretty much summed up the characters and story arc. Han knew, and we all knew. Much to his credit, Harrison Ford knew it as well. The original line was supposed to be "I love you too." and that would have froze Han quicker than carbonite. My favorite scripted line has to be uttered by Luke "I am a Jedi, like my father before me." Uttered way before the prequels and the sequels, and it's like damn Luke, no you are not. You are not like your daddy, you are no Jedi, and you damned near paid for it with your life.
The massacre of the younglings was also unscripted. Hayden Christensen came to the set and started killing all the children and George Lucas just went along with it.
I think most of us called #1. But, uh, did you seriously miss that Leia's hair line was an obvious callback to how Han said she changed her hair when they reunited in TFA?
I disagree that the Kylo intro scene needed some levity. Don't forget, he was supposed to be the next Darth Vader and a major villain. To me, levity cheapens his intro and makes him feel less threatening. Remember the scene when Darth Vader was first introduced in A New Hope. There was no levity as he boarded the rebel ship, casually looking around before coldly stepping over bodies to begin his search for the Death Star plans. The lack of levity in his intro made it clear he was a threat not to be triffled with and made his subsequent acts of evil and brutality feel all the more fitting. If someone had cracked a joke at all during that initial scene, I'd have trouble taking Vader seriously in any scenes that followed.
Harrison Ford improvising the line "I know" is an urban legend. It wasn't improvised. He and Irvin Kirshner decided to change the line during a brainstorming session prior to shooting. It doesn't mean it's not a great line, but it wasn't improvised.
@Gevorg1989 - I know. Sorry, couldn't resist that! :) I was just pointing out that it doesn't really belong in a list of "improvised moments," and explaining why.
I hated the Oscar Isaac line, it made Kylo look weak which ruins an already weak ass villian that he lets someone like Poe talk shit. Vader would have cut his head off.
God it seems like all the best lines were improved ... Oscar Isaac killed it as Poe, especially in Force Awakens. Too bad the 2n and 3rd sequels didn't deliver ...
I really hate how people treat the sequel trilogy. Yes, they have their flaws and mistakes, but they’re not the worst movies of all time like some people make them out to be. Even the worst Star Wars film, be it Phantom Menace or Last Jedi, has redeemable factors to it. You’re not watching Battlefield Earth here. Stop hating on them just because they didn’t turn out the way the fans wanted them to and start respecting them for what they did well! If anyone takes offense to my opinion, my apologies, but you need to be taken into the back and plugged into the hyperdrive.
I'm sorry (not sorry), but the only good line from any of the sequels was "amazing. everything you just said was wrong." Nothing else about the sequels was good.
Honestly there was no real way to tell, she had shot parts of her role before they did the stand in I thought and cgi sculpting for the rest of it. Production isnt a linear process sometimes so things shot for one part of the film could have been shot early and other points much much later.
#3 was foreshadowing how bad the sequel trilogy were going to be. Poe has a damn sith lord in front of him and makes some smartass remark. It lessened the first scene with the antagonist by trying to introduce comedy. Star Wars always put in comedy in the right spots, this was not the time.
