Coming up with your own battery pack requires a lot of r&d for a long time and sadly when china was doing research and development for the EVs we were still struggling for good quality ICE cars so it will take a long time for Mahindra to come up with its own battery cells. Even for a luxury car buyers m fast charging 80KWHr in 20 minutes on regular basis is not sustainable as Any lithium based battery significantly gets deteriated by fast charging regularly and AC charging at home is dead slow like about 12 hrs with 7.2kWh and 8 hrs with 11.2kW. But even after installing 7 or 11kW chargers at home , even in top cities with Independent houses Not apartments its very hard to get 7KWH dedicated EV power meters for residences. and if not dedicated EV power meter then you need to upgrade wiring for entire house to withstand such high loads which is very expensive.
RESIDENTS of apratments should forget buying Such Big Battery EVs.
    2) LFP is not like regular li ion. we need charge them fully till 100% each time. else battery will degrade.

Will it take Mahindra 3-5 years to just licence that tech from Chinese companies?
Why would it take so long? It's not like they're developing something new, the technology already exists you just have to licence it and produce locally.
