Actually Giichi has an elder sister (the reincarnation of Tsutako, Giyuu's elder sister) and a good friend (the reincarnation of Sabito). The modern names of Giichi's sister and best friend are not given. Giyuu does not know who Makomo is. This is a common misconception but Sabito and Makomo never knew each other when they were alive. Makomo died before or after Sabito died. They met eachother in the afterlife as restless spirits.
