On the 19th August 2023 Storm Betty hit the UK causing damage and destruction wherever it went. This just so happened to be the day we set off on a vital mission, to get the Blue Spurr back to home port 200 miles away for renovation ahead of sailing around the world.

The rib in those conditions was a bit iffy to be fair. But some really good seamanship to the the Blue Spurr crew! 💪💪👍

I had to call the Canadian Coast Guard the first time this past summer. Looks like they use the same boats.
I was out on a windier day than usual and had engine trouble at an island just 4 km from my launch. They escorted me back, but I made it back under my own power. So happy they're out there to help us when we need it.

Looks like those waters are good training grounds. If You want to travel to far lands and do long ocean passages You should be prepared and trained to deal with rough weather and storms.
