Let's not forget that he has zero awareness of where his team is, where the enemies are, and when /where to use his specials. Real talk this gives me hope for getting into X rank lol

He rushes way too much and expects so much from them yet he never inks or supports himself He's also using a backliner weapon in the frontline which is a pretty stupid idea

Exploshers are supposed to stay way in the back, and i mean way in the back. One you get close to them its over (unless their like god tier but those are rare). So that means teleporting straight into enemy territory is the worst idea; I main the Heavy Splatling Deco and that's rule-of-thumb for me. Splatoon is a team game, you have to be aware of your team at all times. He clearly doesn't know that

His Inkling is dumping the "water" about as badly as I would in a flood. the weapon itself is very viable, but youre right, its meant for backline. his strategy is run in, miss all of his shots because hes using a backline, low rate of fire weapon in the front line, die, blame his teammates, and repeat. good weapon, atrocious player (the weapon also is essentially a bucket, like you stated. part of the “slosher” weapon class that are focused around buckets).
