    • @johnpineapple3329
      @johnpineapple3329 5 лет назад +2

      I would have been 19, but still missed this at the club. The scene moved so quick, tune after tune being rolled out, you couldn’t keep up. Very few tunes lasted longer than a month.

      I ve listening to it since 92..went to loads of raves from 94..tbh u definitely missed out - the 90 s cannot be explained..too many drugs and beats

      Does not mean you cannot love the tunes, I did not experience the summer of love but I definitely love the music, I experienced the hardcore explosion from late 90 onwards 92 thru 96 were true heady days.

    I have a question to anyone reading this. How popular is this style of music? how underground would this be considered lol because i'm from the united states and all we get shoved down our throats is pop mainstream bullshit. I had to discover this! and this is coming from a true hip hop head.

    • @antgto
      @antgto 7 лет назад +2

      midnight marauder It's popularity really comes down to the country. As you're well aware, here in the states it's not very popular at all, but plenty of cities have a huge underground. Living in a small town, I was lucky to have first heard it back in '96 (on MTV no less), but it still took two more years for a scene to develop in the city.

      you're not alone. 38, been into jungle since about 18 yrs old. and from okc, ok....(chart that impossible journey if you can.)

    • @claypowell5350
      @claypowell5350 6 лет назад +2

      its always had backroom status at every rave intil maybe the last 8-10 yrs. dnb &jungle have had lot of growth in subgenres of both forms, and recently-ish gained a big underground fanbase who are steadily pushing the form's resurgence(jungle and it's offshoots, specifically,as dnb has always had a modicum of success with the general public's ear) and breaching the surface of what the "mainstream" is willing to call art

    • @johnpineapple3329

      This gets played in the States?

    • @tom-ot8kg
      @tom-ot8kg 4 года назад

      That's awesome, I can vividly remember hearing this type of music on video game soundtracks during the ps1/dreamcast era, street fighter third strike for example( akuma stage) . I recently discovered dnb/jungle again less than 5 years ago and I'm in my early 20s lol. I feel like I can't show anybody this type of genre here in the states unless you're really passionate about music production lol
