A family of medications known as antifungals is used to treat both systemic and superficial fungal infections.
The majority of antifungal medications block ergosterol manufacture, bind to ergosterol to compromise the integrity of fungal cell membranes, or target enzymes involved in cell wall formation. The primary agents may be divided into five kinds based on how they work: Azoles (Clotrimazole, Fluconazole, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Miconazole, Voriconazole); Echinocandins (Anidulafungin, Caspofungin, Micafungin); Polyenes (Amphotericin B, Nystatin); Allylamines (Naftifine, Terbinafine); Echinocandins (Anidulafungin )
