Imagine if they actually animated the flashbacks with the 16-bit hardware and translating it into animation like sprite animation, that would be really cool
if you mean actually making them on genesis hardware that would involve learning assembly, importing every frame needed, adding the hidden palace stage graphics, and adding the large thrown platforms as well as animating all of that in assembly code

Sonic Prime's sprite animation might have been just ok, but I bet a bunch of RUclips sprite animators were rolling in their chairs when they saw Sonic Prime.

this is a 30 second scene and its literally just a sprite animation. animation is difficult but making a 30 second scene using existing sprites with some hands edited on top is not that hard

@@kellymountain I understand what you're saying, but then how come the Netflix Team made their sprite animation so wonky, despite having such good quality for everything else?
@@soniahernandez8902 Because they don't have pixel artists or just artists that know how to deal with pixel-art in general, they just have some concept and texture artists, and they have no clue how to make proper sprites, so they mix and mash multiple sprites and styles and go "yeah that looks pretty classic, very sonic 3, super retro", and management sees it with zero proper understanding of pixelart and goes "yeah that looks about right".
Saw this in my subscriptions and thought "oh, this original animation can't be that bad, the Tails Flashback was alright." Then I saw it and I was like "yep I need to watch this video right now, didn't even finish the episode yet.
Yeah, Tails flashback is actually fine. Knux flashback is good for what it's trying to be but... whatever

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that the sprite animation was pretty bad. Probably because I'm so used too people like you and your amazing animation. But man they could've done better bruh. And should of hired people like you or fans to do it. Or just do 2D still animatics like some of the fan work that sonic fans do or something in my honest opinion! But I do hope you do tails flashback from episode 1 because that one was worse than the original kunckles flashback scene.

The sprite animation wasn't bad but it definitely looked more like a flash animation than something more polished like this

I don't think he didn't have the time, rather he just didn't have the experience and flash and the desire and Time Fox instructions, who knows. They know. And it's also a fairly common problem with all cartoons and movies when they show sprite-animation, speaking in our language.
Oh and one more thing. Good animation, especially liked the moment when he smoothly changes facial expressions.

Не думаю, что у него не было времени, скорее просто не было опыта, флеша, желания или наставления Соларея, кто знает. Они знают. И еще это довольно частая проблема у всех мультов и фильмов когда показывают спрайт-анимацию, говоря по нашему.
Ох и еще. Добротная анимация, особо понравился момент когда он изменяет плавно мимику лица.

At least the Flashback in the original show used sprites from Sonic CD, a Sonic game that nobody knew about up until now and a Sprite from an unused zone in Sonic 2 (we all know its Hidden Palace by now). Regardless, your version is very well made compared to the original because the original flashback from the show felt kinda lazy in terms of how the tileset is built with the S-Tunnel Sonic rolls through to attack Knuckles and the hole Knuckles makes in the wall. Here it actually feels like a flashback with the sprites' art style fitting the emphasis of the flashback.
next you should make a sonic 3 in like 7 minutes 40 seconds or something
