Nice video as usual. Having a 4080 for gaming, especially for Overwatch, is like buying an industrial crane to move your shoe boxes around your house though.
18:10 I also have 51,47 scope sens on Ashe also from a Reddit post. From my memory the reason as to why is because if you then put the scope setting from Widowmaker on 37,89 the distance your crosshair moves on both heroes is the same while scoped in. This makes it easier to hit flickshots because the distance will always be the same on both heroes.
For Lucio, there is a benefit in keeping hold to crossfaid on. If you keep it on and you for example get shattered you will automatically swap to healing instead of speed aura. If you keep it off you cannot swap to healing if you had it on speed. I would say if your playing in a low rank where speed isn't utilized that much it might be beneficial to keep the hold to crossfaid on.

no OW player should be using a default controller. Hell, no competitive FPS player should. Buy a controller with paddles. They’re fairly cheap and always worth it.
@@dsjfcibuwildvsdi9307 Bro some people are way better at controllers and feel more comfortable with them, like me, even if I get a lot of experience with keyboard, I would still be better with controller, to each their own obviously, but for me, controller just feels way more natural and smoother (obviously you're gonna struggle with snipers but the others feel fine), and it feels weird to use keyboard
Don't know if u are serious or not, but Overwatch runs at 150 fps with an ancient i7 3820 and gtx970. 1080p tho. Overwatch is really well optimized so they got everyone on board.:)
I very much prefer Lucio's crossfade when the toggle is off. I also switched it with secondary fire so you speed on right click and boop on shift (I believe this is a pretty common method of playing Lucio). I don't know if this is better per se, but it does have advantages that the video doesn't mention: 1. It's more intuitive and you are always 100% sure whether you're speeding or healing right now without needing any visual indicators. 2. when you get stunned, you can't crossfade, but if you have toggle off, you automatically default back to healing, which can be quite a lifesaver if for example your team gets shattered mid speedboost. 3. It halves the amount of inputs you need to quickly switch back and forth for less predictable movement and more survivability. Also, like in the first point, it helps you keep track of what mode you're in intuitively in those situations.
i would like to add for any aspiring mei players switching the primary and secondary fire like he did for sojourn makes it a lot easier to land the icicles. just keep in mind this changes the confirm and cancel buttons for ice wall.
this guide was super helpful. i just wanna point out that i play on console and something that has really helped me is the auto wall climbing for genji, hanzo, etc. i know it wont be for everyone, but if there’s any console players that maybe wont think about it, it has helped me a lot. thanks for the guide karq!
For me one of the most important settings is one that you skipped - In the Color Blind settings you can set the Enemy UI Color to Yellow, making it much easier to spot enemies. Other than that, great video as usual.
I saw a lot of streamers doing this and I liked the idea... I tried it but I don't associate yellow with danger, it's too close to green in my mind I guess. So I switched it to one of the more pink colors and it definitely shows up better than red for me. Definitely worth messing with the colors!
Old video, but as an Echo player, i actually recommend setting "Hold for Flight" ON. A very useful technique for Echo is tapping the Flight ability and immediately cancelling it, as it gives you a great burst of speed and cancelling flight lets you keep a lot of the momentum of the initial burst. It makes Flight a much better tool for escaping, getting to point faster, and general movement. Does make actually using flight slightly more tedious, but the upsides outweigh it in my opinion
For Lucio, PLEASE make a scroll wheel a bind to jump, this makes late skimming, one ticking and general wall riding SIGNIFICANTLY easier, and let's you perform rollouts at higher speeds.
With Lucio's Wall Jump on Release setting on, you don't need to spam jump for one ticking, and KarQ doesn't mention you can cancel the auto wall jump if you hit crouch during the wall ride.
@@bullfrog521 that is significantly more complicated than just scrolling one tick down or pressing your jump button once with the setting off. It also still prevents late skimming, one of the most important things for your spawn rollouts
@@fezthedracky8468 Alright I'll play with it off and use the wheel bind, I didn't know how exactly one tick is performed, and that late skimm tech is good.
@@bullfrog521 I'd suggest eskays video on it, she explains it incredibly well with visual examples, significantly better than I ever could in a RUclips comment
@@fezthedracky8468 That's the video I watched to learn what late skipping was, after you mentioned it, yea, it's a really good guide, I had no idea all those techs existed.
Fully agree. I'm proficient at sniper (TF2) but trying Widowmaker even back in 2016 felt terrible. Trying OW2, I specific options and changed the toggle zoom to be like sniper. Much easier now. I dislike holding right-click options for sniping-Reinhardt shield is fine. However I prefer holding shift abilities.
My guy you crushed this video! Super helpful for the best competitive advantage while still looking great. Gonna have to readjust my ashe as I never knew I needed recover recoil off but otherwise my game looks great.
Been using that amd fsr sharpness for a while now and its a complete gamechanger. everything feels so much more visible. and for people who think 1.00 is too sharp you can also try something like 0.80 or less
Since you recommend keybinds for Sojourn and some other heroes, I thought you were definitely gonna cover the Zen scrollwheel tech. It is highly recommended you put both your orbs on scroll wheel up and down (personal preference which one is on which), just makes playing Zen a lot smoother because you can orb people faster.
This is great, the one thing I’d like to add is that Moira needs a setting for swap primary and secondary fire. It’s not a problem for keyboard and mouse but on controller the primary fire (healing, or left hand) is on the right trigger and secondary fire is on the left trigger. Swapping the keybinds to make the trigger input match Moira’s hands is a bad idea because for some reason it swaps the spectate keybinds too when you’re spectating a Moira player, which results in you flipping back the other way every time you release the trigger after moving onto the Moira, making it impossible to move past Moira to spectate another player. The other option the devs could do is to just outright separate the spectate controls into their own setting so your character keybinds don’t affect your spectate keybinds
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but you can get higher than 103 field of view with a superwide resolution. I'm not sure that's intended by the developers but found this out by playing with custom resolutions and the aspect ratio of my LG C2 as a monitor.
Disagree with Echo's Hold for Flight setting. putting it on hold requires some practice to get used to, but it provides far more advantages. firstly, it allows you to manage the cooldown cycle much better since you only need to pseudo-flight to secure a kill or to escape most of the time. You can do boosted jump and glide down to the target, you get your CD back by the time you get a kill. secondly, it is much easier to do boosted jump with Hold for Flight on.
This interestingly made me realise multiple settings work on higher than I had ever used before with a fairly budget PC setup (in todays terms atleast), thanks to you explaining some of them use different parts of the PC and should have little to no effect on FPS, which you were definitely right about.
nice fact for our 21:9 users, you no longer need to play in 16:9 with black bars. Blizzard came to their senses and finally gives us the extra space on the sides rather than zooming it in
HUGE TIP FOR TRACER. Swap her ultimate from "Q" to "left shift". You will need to blink only with the right mouse click, which it's easier than left shift anyways, but you gain total control of her to make precise bomb stick. Even mid air Mercys. Trust me this changed my Tracer years ago.
I was using the dot crosshair eversince I started playing OW. I tried using your settings and it helped me alot in game especially when it comes at aiming. I would like to thank you for sharing your settings!
hey wanted to stop by and say thank you for this, there were settings in here that i never new what they did and didnt even know were here great video brother!!!! and for this SUB BABE!!
for toggle ADS, some people actually prefer it for muscle memory. this is because holding right click adds pressure to the mouse and makes it slightly more difficult to move, so using toggle ADS removes that. it's not exactly a standard thing in FPS games, but something that someone can try if they're not performing to their best
Yeah I was going to comment about this. Personally I find that holding a button for ADS screws up my aim. It's not that hard to learn the rhythm of toggle quickscoping. Also I personally rebind ADS to side mouse button, so I aim sleep darts easier on M2.
Maybe not a "best performance" setting but just FYI if you start with the medium quality preset rather than low it will enable a few hidden ini settings such as the shader quality which enables the shine of the characters hair. Imo this is a pretty big visual improvement to pretty much any skin and i dont really notice a difference in FPS. Another small setting is if you put effect detail on medium instead of low that will enable the rain effects on maps like the new cloudy blizzardworld (maybe also enables weather effects in upcoming map like that snowstorm they showed in an ow2 trailer or possibly for stormrising) to me the rain doesnt seem distracting and again there isnt really a noticeable fps hit so i like enabling it for a bit more atmosphere.
Just a quick tip. I imagine KarQ has a monitor with freesync built in, but if you don’t, cap your frames about 5 behind your monitors max you’ll get rid of screen tearing without having to turn on Gsync.
You mean v sync not g sync. As far as I know amd and nvidia have monitors that work with their graphics cards freesync is amd and gsync is nvidia. Vsync or vertical sync is in most games to stop screen tearing on lower end monitors
I wanna suggest mapping Pharah's conc to her Secondary fire. I also mapped Hanzo's Sonic arrow to his secondary. For console, i highly suggest these settings along with mapping his ult to either L1/LB or changing his storm arrows to those buttons and mapping his ult to R1/RB
10:44 I leave music on, but around 20-40% or so. I'm not a big fan of the new Overwatch 2 music (it gets too melodramatic at times compared to Overwatch 1), but I still want to hear the musical cues at certain points in the fight: point capture/loss, checkpoint capture/loss, the "time's running out", "overtime", and "payload close to destination" cues. 11:28 I turn those settings on, since I want to know if an enemy or teammate is eliminated without having to look at the kill feed all the time.
Just wanted to place some timestamps here because I also use these same relative aim sens values Also make sure to set all heroes bindings FIRST then do your per-hero bindings, sometimes it bugs out and your all heroes bindings wont propagate to your per-hero bindings Ashe: 17:45 51.47% Widowmaker: 25:10 38% Ana: 26:48 38% also fyi if you're coming from csgo or another fps please convert your sensativity values it will do so much for your aim in this game
Thank you so much for making this step by step tutorial! This actually solved my laptop's random lagging problem and the game runs now smoother than ever in many years! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us other Overwatch players! 💝
Great video lots of helpful stuff, I just wanted to point out some extra things. On tracer on PC you should bind shift to ultimate so that you can still access all movement keys while ulting and Q does not allow that, you should be blinking with right click so it doesn't take anything away. On zen there's many occasions where you have two teammates near each other and you can't heal the one on low health due to 100% assist so i recommend 20-60 depending on your preference. Colour blind setting certainly give competitive advantage. Changing enemy colour to a more vibrant colour such as yellow or gold helps notice and react to enemies quicker.
For Moira and Kiriko, I have their primary and secondary fire switched so that I can attack with my right click, heal with my left click. Just more intuitive for me
I came back to this video to thank you, just tried a few changes suggested here for a cuople of days now and I can tell you that it really improved my playing! Is not like I was bronze and now and GM, but it kinda made me be more accurate in the aim.
I just started following you yesterday and today you blessed me with the guide I'd been hoping someone would post lol. THANK YOU for the explanation on Lucio's settings!!! I mained him in OW1 but never had trouble with going through doorways until this game. Could not figure out why it was happening but now I know to turn the wall jump on release setting off. This is going to have a huge impact on my pathetic bronze games (I'll be in silver someday...)
On Mercy I prefer keeping toggle guardian angel on, as it allowes me to hit ctrl much easier and gain that hight. Having that option off puts much more strain on your pinky as you have to hit ctrl WHILE holding down shift. Good video!
For my console players, put flight or hover of mercy echo and phara on the left trigger and the jump aswell so u can glide and turn camera at the same time. For echo I put one of her abilities on the L3 stick this allows me to fly/ glide, shoot sticky and then focus beam all while moving camera continuously
For echo you probably want hold flight on so you can do the flight tech easier, if it’s off you have to double tap to get the boost fly so it’s inefficient
I find that having the auto-climb wall option for console players who don’t have paddles at the back of the controller (and with default bindings) very helpful, it saves you from having to use a finger to climb and you can use that finger to look away from the wall to cancel the climb quickly, but it’s personal preference.
I have both a scuff conTroller and normal, and I find jumping by clicking down with the Left stick on normal controller good enough Edit: i just seen you said with default bindings , so I guess my comment doesn't really apply, however it is a very helpful key bind

no OW player should be using a default controller. Hell, no competitive FPS player should. Buy a controller with paddles. They’re fairly cheap and always worth it.
@@Stak0 no OW player should be using a controller. Hell, no competitive FPS player should. Buy a Keyboard.
Some of these are eye opening. A necessary video for anyone looking to up their current OW skill.
i love how this guide is just for people that have thousands of dollars of hardware, and not the average computer
I don't know if this is better per se, but it does have advantages that the video doesn't mention:
Also, like in the first point, it helps you keep track of what mode you're in intuitively in those situations.
can also do mm3 boop and right click jump, space to crossfade
i would like to add for any aspiring mei players switching the primary and secondary fire like he did for sojourn makes it a lot easier to land the icicles. just keep in mind this changes the confirm and cancel buttons for ice wall.
this guide was super helpful. i just wanna point out that i play on console and something that has really helped me is the auto wall climbing for genji, hanzo, etc. i know it wont be for everyone, but if there’s any console players that maybe wont think about it, it has helped me a lot. thanks for the guide karq!
Very well made video! Overwatch 2 is a game where I always feel like my settings are always off.
What a fantastic video. This is what so many people need
For me one of the most important settings is one that you skipped - In the Color Blind settings you can set the Enemy UI Color to Yellow, making it much easier to spot enemies. Other than that, great video as usual.
I'd actually recommend gold instead!
Yellow is actually harder to see than say Green/Magenta
I saw a lot of streamers doing this and I liked the idea... I tried it but I don't associate yellow with danger, it's too close to green in my mind I guess. So I switched it to one of the more pink colors and it definitely shows up better than red for me. Definitely worth messing with the colors!
purple better
@@DoctorDarlingTTV The amount of times I thought they were my teammate was enough to make me change it back to red 🤣
24:41 on tracer you should actually bind the pulse bomb to shift because it is better to blink with right click anyways.
I realised that I had many bad settings and now im actually hitting more shots. Thanks dawg
That was very extensive. Great guide for sure for the folks that are brand new or just need a refresher.
Toggle zoom is actually better imo, since having the constant increased downwards force on your mouse can mess up your flick muscle memory
AYOO! Been waiting for this Video.
gonna try it out thanks coach
Best game settings breakdown I've ever seen
Da king is back baby he neva miss
hoping you could do an updated one of these since there are new settings available!
This interestingly made me realise multiple settings work on higher than I had ever used before with a fairly budget PC setup (in todays terms atleast), thanks to you explaining some of them use different parts of the PC and should have little to no effect on FPS, which you were definitely right about.
The camera relative movement setting for rein was new for me, def putting that on!
nice fact for our 21:9 users, you no longer need to play in 16:9 with black bars. Blizzard came to their senses and finally gives us the extra space on the sides rather than zooming it in
sound great, but isn't that an unfair advantage?
@@sakitoshi Obviously not, or else Blizzard would have charged for that advantage. /s
True support help not only in game but out of it too. Ty for video!
thank you mister KarQ, I am watching this with headache and my 2 years on my lap watching it with me, my wife is cleaning the room and life goes on.
I would like to thank you for sharing your settings!
i've been waiting for so much longtime for a video on best possible crosshairs and there comes KARQ love you mate thank you so much
Great vid as always. I'll be supporting the streams :)
hey wanted to stop by and say thank you for this, there were settings in here that i never new what they did and didnt even know were here great video brother!!!! and for this SUB BABE!!
for toggle ADS, some people actually prefer it for muscle memory. this is because holding right click adds pressure to the mouse and makes it slightly more difficult to move, so using toggle ADS removes that.
it's not exactly a standard thing in FPS games, but something that someone can try if they're not performing to their best
Yeah I was going to comment about this. Personally I find that holding a button for ADS screws up my aim. It's not that hard to learn the rhythm of toggle quickscoping. Also I personally rebind ADS to side mouse button, so I aim sleep darts easier on M2.
@@shevek5934 hold ads i take it? cant imagine having to thumb twice everytime you want to quickscope
You are truly out here doing the lord's work. Thank you, KarQ.
I’ve been planing to reset my settings to default and start anew since there’s new things to compensate for in OW2, good timing as ever KarQ
28:51 i would add the most crucial setting for Kiriko. Change her Primary and Secondary fire to shoot with left click and heal with right.
+1
High quality stuff man
Instead of regular cross hair, I instead use a red dot. It helps me be more because when I can't see it, it means fire.
@@AIMLESS-NAMELESS Yes, sorry. The NVIDIA branding has really stuck in my head as you can tell lol.
You and Flats gonna have me goated I swear 😤 Onyxsama
This man is truly the GOAT when it comes to tips and tricks for this game 🙌🏽
Ive been playing since 2016 and didnt even know some of these settings exist. Thanks alot KarQ
Finally the video I was looking for❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much man, I am eternally grateful. - A Junkrat main
Just wanted to place some timestamps here because I also use these same relative aim sens values
Also make sure to set all heroes bindings FIRST then do your per-hero bindings, sometimes it bugs out and your all heroes bindings wont propagate to your per-hero bindings
Ashe: 17:45
51.47%
Widowmaker: 25:10
38%
Ana: 26:48
38%
also fyi if you're coming from csgo or another fps please convert your sensativity values it will do so much for your aim in this game
This was so helpful! I can't imagine how long it took to film this, thank you!
Thank you so much for making this step by step tutorial! This actually solved my laptop's random lagging problem and the game runs now smoother than ever in many years! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us other Overwatch players! 💝
Jeeeeeez man, some of these are major game changers and I’m seeing massive improvements. Thank you so much!
This is literally the best video, amazing work ! Thank you.
Finally karQ made a crosshair video I’ve been using the basic crosshair for 2 years
For Moira and Kiriko, I have their primary and secondary fire switched so that I can attack with my right click, heal with my left click. Just more intuitive for me
I came back to this video to thank you, just tried a few changes suggested here for a cuople of days now and I can tell you that it really improved my playing! Is not like I was bronze and now and GM, but it kinda made me be more accurate in the aim.
As soon as I changed my crosshairs to yours I started performing much better.
23:58 love the transition!
This is going to have a huge impact on my pathetic bronze games (I'll be in silver someday...)
watch eskay for lucio tutorial
On Mercy I prefer keeping toggle guardian angel on, as it allowes me to hit ctrl much easier and gain that hight. Having that option off puts much more strain on your pinky as you have to hit ctrl WHILE holding down shift. Good video!
if you can, put ctrl on a mouse button and i promise you you’ll improve a lot
@@seanferry1161 I'll give it a try, thank you for the advice!
Bro you do such a good job. You should ask people to subscribe & like your video. I almost forgot & it's definitely worth it
Thank you brother! This made all those complicated settings easy to set.
I have both a scuff conTroller and normal, and I find jumping by clicking down with the Left stick on normal controller good enough
Edit: i just seen you said with default bindings , so I guess my comment doesn't really apply, however it is a very helpful key bind
thx for a new settings guide for ow2 , appreciated
BEST SETTING OUT THERE. TYSM
Thanks for sharing! Always learning something from KarQ!
Thanks for the settings I changed all of them!
