My biggest problem with abstraction is that EVERY layer takes rent. It's extractive and lead by the desire for chains and apps to be THE extractoooor. If fees are super low perhaps it doesn't matter, but rent extraction is a disease taken from current systems

I hate to say it...but as fragmentation of Ethereum happens with L2's, L3's, LST's and now apps running its own chain that are EVM compatible.... (Even if they use Ethereum for its security) its not good over all for ETH price....(great for the network) but its just driving liquidity and demand for ETH for gas usage down.
It’s the second largest market cap with the largest ecosystem and a bunch of Layer-2’s that all use ETH as the primary currency. It’s also still doing more in fee’s compared to all other networks. I think it will be fine… Especially since blob minimum price will raise, blob count will increase, and Layer-1 will scale significantly. Plenty of reasons for ETH’s value to continue to grow and Layer-2’s have more positive impact then negative.
Bad if you are holding a bunch of Ethereum expecting it to go up 20x in price per cycle. If you are just a regular user who uses DeFi in Ethereum it is actually very good, but Adam cannot say directly that you'll pay almost inexistent fees for even the most complex tx and there won't be extra fees during congestion periods. Overall, it is good for blockchain 🚀.

Ethereum, Cosmos, Polkadot, Solana, Tron, etc. Remember that they are improving the user experience. What is good, but it doesn't mean that demand of Ether will increase because we already have multiple L2s and demand of Ether for utility hasn't increased. However, I think this is a good path to take because technology shouldn't be made to speculate but to improve the user experience.

This is such a f-cking mess. What is the point of all these L2s that supposedly are compatible with ERC20 tokens if all ERC20s can not be found on ALL chains/rollups? But all the rollups have tokens unique to themselves, so these "bespoke" tokens are not found on all the other L2 chains. So we can't just pick an L2 as our ERC20 homebase. Let's say I wanna trade some obscure ETH token, like, say $SPH. But I don't wanna pay ETH gas. But if there is no liquidity of this token on another of the various L2s, I'm stuck with ETH and high gas. How do we get to a point that ALL ERC20 tokens are tradable on ALL L2s, w/o bridging, or suffering the need for someone to have provided liquidity on that specific rollup? Maybe that is what these guys are saying the uni-chain will bring... IDK. I'm burned out trying to figure it out. Navigating the ETH ecosystem is like swimming in a bowl of spaghetti and string.

It's a balance on how much the L1 needs to extract from the L2. But in general they are mutually beneficial.
