We are now on day 67 of my journey to a 2000 rapid rating online on chess.com! Can we get a win streak going?
About me: I'm Farzy, a Chess.com partnered streamer and freestyle rapper who is on a quest to get better at chess! I've been streaming chess on Twitch for about a year, and have started to play over-the-board classical chess tournaments in the summer of 2024. I hope to grow as a player both online and OTB, and I hope my viewers can join me for the ride :)

    13:58 4 knight scotch !
    All main line stuff yep
    14:10 Bd2 is fine !
The main line here is taking exd5 and then both sides castle !
14:23 yes here you could go down a pawn and have the bishop pair while black has a weaker pawn structure. But what you did is also fine !
15:47 at this move you thought a lot. But really keeping the king in the center is very scary here !
Qd3 or Qf3 are fine because they defend the bishop already but castling is the only safe move in my opinion here !
16:19 very nice line yep trapping the a8 rook !
16:56 yes Qg3 here ! Forking the queen and c6 pawn, almost orcing the trade of queens, and the endgame is just great for you with the rooks on the open files !
Also it makes you keep your king safe, when f3 and g3 both create weaknesses around the king.
I would prefer f3 over g3 tho with his light square bishop cuting of your king already if g3..
17:44 I king of like Qd7. The thing is g3 already made your king very weak.. Black could already sac with Rxa3 and then Qf3 and you are barely surviving 😅
Also during the game you only thought of Qh3 for black and not Qf3 which is even stronger sometimes. Also here you missed that h3 is protected by your queen 9:19 that would have been tragic 😅
18:29 yeah here you are under some pressure. Sacrificing is fun and I've sacs like this a lot ! But now I'm better at seeing when they might work or not, and this one does not work sadly 😢
18:35 the king does not have to stay on the backrank yep..
18:52 g5 gave you some options with Re5 or Re6+ (your rook is hanging don't forget about it).
But I also considered to bring the last rook in the game (very important to bring every piece to the attack, especially after a sacrifice), but here that d1 rook is doing a very important job ...
Always be careful of backranks in the endgame when trying to activate your rooks !
    19:33 New opening Hype !!
OK so for e4 e5 there are a looooot of options:
    From move 2:
    - Bishop's opening (2.Bc4)
    - king's gambit (2.f4)
    - Danish gambit (2.d4) (I mean it's called center game but I don't like 3.Qxd4, just a reversed scandi...)
    - Vienna (2.Nc3)
    From move 3 (after 2.Nf3 Nc6)
    - scotch (3.d4)
    - 4 knights (3.Nc3)
    - italian (3.Bc4)
    - spanish (3.Bb5)
    - ponziani (3.c3)
But also a lot of fun gambits possible from the italian, the scotch or even the 4 knights !
And probably other things I forgot or don't know about 😂
My favorite are probably the Ponziani, The Vienna, and all sorts of gambits
After it depends on what you prefer and what you are looking for ! If it's something you can also play in classical maybe one of the more solid option would be better?
Online I would really recommend playing something more rare and tricky as people don't know much about it yet.

As everyone else said, legendary comment as usual - I think the Ponziani will be making an appearance pretty soon!!

      Thanks everybody that enjoy !
Hype for the Ponziani I love this opening !!
Also it might be the easiest to learn as there are only a few testing lines, but most common moves gives you a strong center and an easier position to play !
