I've noticed a lot of reactors don't know their rap history and they give themselves up by totally slipping on references and flowers given to the pioneers of hip hop (I call it all hip hop) within the song they are reacting to then say someone can't rap because the reactor doesn't understand for lack of knowledge. Kids don't listen to old hip hop anymore! I really don't care for "present day" rap but I've really enjoyed some of the INDEPENDENT artists that are forging their own paths but always paying homage. This was a good reaction- you know the "Founders" so you understand his skill level in the craft because he leans on the kings of the past for his inspiration.
Adam grew up rapping in the streets of Chicago. He said they used to call each other the n-word and it wasn't meant in a negative way. He's not fronting, he really does have a horrible temper and fights every day to keep it in check.
You've got some great tracks to come from Adam. I can't remember if you've done ;'Target Practice' yet, but if not, it's well worth checking out (It's on demun Jones page,, and Adam, Rittz, Brodnax and Krizz Kaliko feature on it)
Speaking of the Goodie MOB reference, back in '96, I was in college and we drove to New Orleans and saw Goodie MOB, De La Soul and Fishbone. We ran into GM a few blocks out as we both were approaching the venue. We fired up a blunt and smoked it with them walking down the city street haha. A funny memory. But they opened with Cell Therapy and they had a full band, stage covered in smoke, and they do the song to the music of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" all in gas masks. I was so shocked but I just thought how cool are these guys? Most people at this show don't even know the song but they paid homage and it was unforgettable. I come from the 90's hip-hop era of Dre and Snoop, Bone, but really all of the crazy good East Coast joints back then and the South got on the map as well. Hip-hop lost me for nearly 20 years as a fan. Shit was just too plastic, too fake. "Money money lies lies money bitches money..." Adam and Tom and some other guys brought me back. I grew up on hip-hop along with punk rock. The two styles have an incredible amount in common aside from sound.
Love how ya loving his knowledge of the game and the repeat he pays……on basically every track. That being said o CANT WAIT till you jump on his “Shook One’s” remix😎😎😎
Adam is very hit or miss me; that's as a country as fuck republican who grew up on Lil Wayne, 50, and the game. This is his best song, if we bar to bar it. 😊 My all time is still Lil Wayne I told Ya'll.
Great reaction, Adam's one my favs....and ya, he can rap his ass off, he gives off that old school type rap....he has 2 paintings in his house he had made for him....one is a goody mob cd cover, like one the first that had a Major influence on him ...and he's had ODB one which is a pic looks like an ID card I think.. which he displays both of the in his video w Brodnax " Ratchet Strap".... should check it out....another gd one shows Adam's talent is..."Starter Cap/The End" or "Cannon" (lil Wayne remix)...
That N word being used in this is NOT meant to offend at all. He grew up in the culture. He's been saying that to his black AND white friends since he was a kid. EDIT: the white guy running is his son who is in the United States Army. ❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤
Honestly, when it comes to the (word), I get it. I just think it's sad, though, when I see people controlled by the word. Not that many people are as forgiving as you, and a lot would hear that from a white guy and go into attack mode. Voluntarily putting themselves in the system over the words of another man. Anger or annoyance should never be at the cost of agency over your own body.
Even though he says country rap and has done country albums to me he is just rap rappin. For one he isnt country and 2 he doesnt have that southern country twang imo
Adam Calhoun’s
“Ramble On”
“We Were Young”
Adam Calhoun. Cannon
I second this suggestion 💯
100% agree with this!
Yuppppppppppppp
One of his best!

Well said. I'm a 50 year old white woman that's been listening to rap since the late 80's. And I agree 100%

Adam grew up in the hood is my understanding...
Heard
Adam grew up in the suburbs, hence his use of the n word, his fake gangsterism, and his new fake country persona.
yep in chicago
@98wytebird I've heard him say he traveled to Chicago to "rap battle" Which hood in Chicago did he grow up in?
@@levikangas3114 idk exactly other then it was the south side of chicago

Great reaction. It's hip hop/rap, not race.Is it "shock value" , yea, but isn't it always? And should it be?
Glad you’re ok with the random use of that word as it’s not the only song he uses it in haha
Need to check out rasiem he kills that one as well
