The link being severed is referring to you destroying the crystals. Louis would usually use the crystals to perform a powerful attack here but since they're gone he's lost the ability to perform that attack forcing him to use a weak regular attack instead.

An interesting detail is that both, the MC and Louis had their bodies fused with their skyrunners in their lasts forms. We can see the Charadrius below Louis and how the MC has the wings and tail from his skyrunner.
33:24 Lady Gruidae didn´t lie when she says that the Prince looks like his mom.

I *think* what the “The link has been severed” text in the Destroyer Charadrius fight meant is that he was trying to call on one of the human bosses’ signature moves, but couldn’t since you had defeated them (I remember in my fight when he was at full power he would use moves like Gorleo’s Wingbeat, Butera’s Sandstorm, Jaluzo’s Gaze etc)

Destroyer Charadrius...the most fearsome human fought in the game. Even harder if you did not defeat the mini bosses in Tyrant's Star. It makes sense why he is so tough though, being Louis. Even as undaunting and determined he was to fight for his vision, even he would suffer from its completion.

It's funny: At the very beginning, when we first met Louis at the royal funeral, I jokingly compared his dramatic descent to a Final Fantasy villain. And now, like a classic Final Fantasy villain, he has attained godhood of a sort for the final battle! Also related to Square Enix, his form as a shirtless man suspended by some kind of large mechanism seems strikingly similar to the final boss in the first Kingdom Hearts

Now that you mention it, all his forms in the final battle do remind me quite a bit of Sephiroth's own forms on _his_ final battle in OG FF7.
-Biblically accurate Louis- Destroyer Charadrius with all those wings reminds me of Safer Sephiroth (his final form in FF7, the actual "one-winged angel") pretty easily, but that form with the masks still up also reminds me a bit of Bizarro/Reborn Sephiroth, which is _also_ the form just before Safer -and the one with the better theme.-
Even for the "shirtless" part on his Archdemon form (before Louis turns human), Sephiroth has that down too (he's even shirtless _before_ he fights you)

SPOILERS FOR THE VIDEO, STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT!
Here's a few things about the final boss we didn't get to see:
    - If you don't break the crystals (AKA fight the human rematches), Louis will have a maximum of 8 turn icons per turn, and instead of the occasional regular attack, he'l borrow an attack from the other bosses. You get a achievement for beating this version of Louis.
-Once his health reaches half, he will start using a telegraphed charge attack that instantly kill any party member, "A tribe condemned".
Farewell Louis Charadrius, the best antagonist Atlus has ever written, and one of my new favourite villains of all time.

Yeah Louis is a villain that’s not really redeemable but while you do pity him and his backstory, it doesn’t change your mind for taking him down.

Is this the Final Final Battle?! We are so close to the end! Glad you splitting this up cause we all know the credits will be unskipable and probably an hour long with how large and how many worked on this game! But I will say this fight was so fun and really love this game. One of my favorite games of all time and glad to have been on the ride with you two thru your journey of it!

Just a quick comment from the ending this time.
50:05 - I find it _really_ funny that immediately after we see all those piles of work they have to do, we jumpcut to the protagonist listening to some drunk guy's ramblings at the local bar.
Yeah, I get it's supposed to show he actively wants to hear _everyone_ out and see what things are like by himself, and he's not gonna let his own title (nor the work that comes with it) hold that back. But it's just as easy to intepret said work _is_ getting to him (just as you joked about after that scene) and sometimes he's like "screw that, I'm the goddamn king, I'm taking a break today and I'll catch up later".
And as much as he cherishes them all, _this_ random dude is the one he's hanging out with instead of his own friends/co-workers lmao

Defeating Louis was one of the most satisfying moments I've ever experienced in a video game. I didn't know that defeating the human bosses would've cut off his full power. Kinda reminded me of a cross between the endgame boss gauntlets in _Mega Man_ and the final boss rush in _Xenogears._ But the rewards for beating them are awesome, so maybe save fighting Charadrius at full power for NG+? That's what I did. At last, the prince can finally step up as the rightful king of Euchronia. Only one episode left, it seems.

Louie really is an interesting final boss: broken and stubborn
I wish Rella didn't die. She would've loved to see the new kingdom.
I didn't say this because you didn't talk to any npcs while magla was dense; but if you talked to the boy near honeybee inn, he says he's scared and apologizes for being xenophobic

Louis' boss fight is absolutely brutal when you don't destroy the crystals, probably the hardest fight in the game outside of the NG+ exclusive superboss. He would have a default of 8(?) turn icons, and once he starts doing his soul screams he would get up to 12. Even on Easy, he would be a miserable experience for anyone unprepared.
    Congrats on becoming King!🎉

Persona games love their big moment before a final boss where every single member of the cast stands up and says something thematically relevant to the big villain before the fight... Metaphor takes it a step beyond by having the main boss show up three times... and having the entire cast do that in front of EACH arrival. 🤣

So would Louis also be considered a god by this point, continuing the trend of atlus protagonists being godkillers

Yess and no he did attained Godhood thanks to the royal sceptre, but he himself is not a god, he is just a broken man who gave up on the world.
