      Yeah. You'll have that with "warships" that spend 95% of their "service" in harbor.

      @@deeremeyer1749That's total bollocks. The type 23 is the hardest working warship in the fleet. Wtf would you know anyway?

    The wife and I happened to be visiting Portsmouth and the New Forest areas! We noticed lots of people gathering near the railway station? I asked a policeman “What’s going on” The Queen is arriving by train and will commission a new Royal Navy Ship HMS Lancaster He said! Just then a Lancaster Bomber flew very low over our heads! Gosh what a roar! The Queen and the Duke where whisked off to the Naval Base for the reception. The afternoon was spent watching this marvellous Lancaster Bomber flying back and forwards over head! So quite a day to remember 21 years ago! And HMS Lancaster is still doing her stuff!

    I can’t hold a note musically but every time I hear “pipe the side” I follow to a tee each time it goes through the low start pitch then the high, then return to low to finish off my mind’s recital changes at perfect timing with what is coming at me in the movie or RUclips video at the time when they have call to pipe on that particular show.

    Notice the masts on the Victory have been shortened? Since this was taken in 1992

      Recently Victory has been going through a restoration program and it has been held up because of the Covid Pandemic and they have had to change all of the Supporting props in between her Hull and the sides of the Dry Dock for pneumatic ram's with sensors, gauges and alarms on to pick up the shifting pressures on the Hull of the Ancient Battleship and prevent the Hull bulging or starting to "Pancake" because She's not Supported by the Water, which Supports her evenly and her Topmasts and Topgallant Masts will be replaced when the restoration is finished, after all She's the Oldest Wooden Warship in a complete form dating from 1765ish being 40 years old at Trafalgar during October 1805, possibly the 10/21/1805?
      in existence with our USS Constitution the Oldest Wooden Frigate and Warship afloat and the Sloop Of War USS Constellation then HMS Trincomalee, the HMS Unicorn 🦄 (She does have a Unicorn for her Figurehead) which has been sadly messed around with and then the HMS Warrior which I haven't been able to visit or the Clipper Cutty Sark or SS Great Britain, although I have visited the Cenotaph and the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier in Westminster Abbey with my Grandfather who was a US Army Officer during WW2 and his last visit to London and the Cemetery's in France with me were in 1994, although I've been back with my family a couple of times since then and the Imperial War Museum and Forces TV have been doing regular updates on their RUclips Channels

    • @kevnwarriner8819
      @kevnwarriner8819 3 года назад

      The British don't have a problem with people from other Countries living there and this is nearly 30 years old and Hong Kong was still part of Britain and if they hadn't handed the Island back to China then there wouldn't be a Humanitarian problem or an issue with the loss of simple Freedoms that we take for Granted, Free Speech, Free Press, so what's your point? It's not like a lot of people there are obsessed with the Chinese people, it's not like they had Adolf Trump making a Crappie Trade Deal with them that led to the Farmers in the Midwest going Bankrupt and needing a $40 Billion Dollar bailout and they don't have a Sedition Caucus either, and I don't think many of the British MP's caught Covid perhaps the PM Boris Johnson and one other, we have had a few Louie Gohmert, Rant Paul and I'm amazed how few Rethuglicans did catch it but not surprised that most of them are Vaccinated and yet lie about it, Rupert Murdoch even flew into Britain to get the Pfizer Vaccine in December 2020 when it first became available and then when he got back after his second dose he a stricter Vaccine Mandate in place at Fux Entertainment then the Biden Administration will ever do and they lie like Cheap Russian Rugs about the Vaccine and Mandates too, it's Assanine and it's dragging out the effects of the Pandemic and increasing the numbers of people who end up Dying of Covid, General Colin Powell had Blood Cancer and Parkinsons Disease and was 84 Years old and the reason everyone should have got Vaccinated because his Immune system was suppressed just like millions of people who are living with with Suppressed immune systems and are younger than the General was and just as sick, but the attitude is stupid by those on Right when it comes to being Vaccinated

    Why would they call it the 'Royal Barge'? Awful...the 'Royal Launch' perhaps, but a 'barge' implies a vessel without the ability to self-propell. I like the intent behind this presentation, but noted inconsistencies/framing that demonstrate the presenters are not truly familiar with the Royal Navy. Regardless, I enjoyed this video as honest entertainment for ship nerds. :)

    • @markturner4219
      @markturner4219 5 лет назад +4

      You clearly don't understand Royal Naval or UK maritime terminology. The term 'barge' in no way implies a vessel without the ability to self propel.
