Worms will reproduce QUICKLY TA by just adding your apple peels, melon rind, carrot peels , apple peels, any leafy vegetable clippings - avoid all onions, citrus, and tomatoes. (enzymes and acids that will harm the worms (rather, chase them off) And be wary of overlooking seeds from the kitchen scraps - unless you like surprises (pleasant enough) - Bob's ur Uncle

I know what you mean about the "age thing" Graeme. When I was younger and not arthritic, it was nothing to be out all night fishing with my brother or little boy (Oh where does the time go? He's grown now...). Nowadays, about sundown, thoughts of a Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout and a good book start their siren song.
By the way, you have aged mighty gracefully, I'd say. I on the other hand, have aged like a cooler full of bait that got forgotten for a week in an estate wagon during an August heat wave. Cheers.

I found my files of black & white negatives..Even I am shocked as I have over 20,000 negs alone and that's without possibly the same(or more) in 35mm colour slides..I must have spent a fortune on films and developing with all the stills photography I used to do. I aim to put something up in the next few weeks, might be a bit of nostalgia for some of the older fishermen. Just a bucketload of work scanning them in though.

Hey Graeme, great fishing with earth worms and floats. Reminds me of being a boy fishing in the pond.
But that’s not what I wanted to comment on.
I built a light box for my wife to use in her design business. I used a fluorescent light and the white plastic so the light was better dispersed across the entire surface. That was years before LEDs were so readily available.
With LEDs the power consumption is minuscule compared to incandescent or fluorescent and there are dimmable models that will help preserve your eyesight.
Just a couple of ideas for you to consider to make your task more enjoyable.
Love your fishing show and everything you do helping Mike in the Outdoors. You can consider me a fan and an admirer of your tenacity, your skills and abilities.

If you have a few flower borders have a word with your tree surgeon and see if he can drop off some wood chip when he’s working nearby. Free bait is good bait! I started a worm farm for this reason. All the worms I can use plus some to go in the garden. The worm juice from the bottom is excellent for the garden too.
As kids we would put a piece of white bread on the soil under some wet newspaper. Leave it over-night and hey presto! Worms galore.
If you can find some of those perch with a bit of size to them, they're pretty good eating. We have them here in Oz in the southern states like New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. We don't see them much in Queensland as it's a bit too warm for them luckily.
