This video is the second edition virtual tour of the beautiful and ancient Ananthapura temple located 5 kms from Kumbla town in Kasaragod district. This temple is dedicated to lord Ananthapadmanabha and is built in the middle of a lake. Kumbla is an important town in the district of Kasaragod, located around 12 kms from the town center Kasaragod.
This is the only lake temple in Kerala and is believed to be the original seat (Moolasthanam) of Ananthapadmanabha Swami (Padmanabhaswamy temple) Thiruvananthapuram.
Babiya, a vegetarian crocodile used to be the main attraction of this serene temple and we had the good fortune to see Babiya in person. Sadly, Babiya passed away in October of 2022.
A new crocodile appeared in the lake in October 2023 and has been named as Babiya.
