Lightroom users really NEED to understand that they are not using the BEST "mouse trap" for everything. But they don't have to 'switch' to DarkTable, but rather 'integrate it with their Adobe software, so they get the best of what's on offer, without the HUGE learning curve of DarkTable.
Great video. Darktable is impressive once you learn it's quirks. Do you remember which video you put up explaining how to install the prophoto RGB colour profile on a Mac. I've recently switched to Mac for my photography and I remember one of your videos explained where to download the prophoto RGB profile and how to install it but I can't find it. Not using Adobe software now as I assume that would have installed it. Thank you.
Hey Andy, did you ever do the full work-up video of DarkTable HDR? I like what you did with the LR vs DT video, but I'm not a LR user at all and though I gleamed some from that video, but I would love to see a full A thru Z step by step from raw images to a finished, composited image. Did you do it and and I'm not seeing it or is that one still in the works?
Walking is good. Should you be approached by a black limo with subdued side windowns - watch out for a hit man from Adobe! You must be on top of their death list after this.

Very helpful! I haven't used lightroom for many years; darktable/GIMP is a great combination for me. Thanks for the video!
Glad it was helpful!
The only thing I miss from LR is the auto align. But the quality in DT is so much better than is is worth the manual alignment with Hugin.
Thank you, I will definitely check it out!

Coming soon!
as a primary darktable user, i find it better than Lightroom which i used to use for all my photography, won't use adobe products anymore!
Reminder: 32 bit Darktable HDR processing
xmp what is it?
XMP is a sidecar data file created by DarkTable - it contains all the process instructions.

Just let 'em try it...but then there is always the fall-back defence "Please Sir...Eigil made me do it! 😆😎😆
