At the beginning of the Tyson vs Holmes fight Ali whispered in Mike’s ear to whoop his ass. Mike proceeds to do just that on his behalf. In a later interview Holmes trashed Tysons boxing skills in an interview with heavyweight legends Ali, Frazier, and I believe George Foreman but don’t quote me on that one. Long story short I always believed Holmes never got over that whooping. Funny thing how life comes full circle I believe Holmes was at the end of his career like Ali was when he beat him.

That's why you can see that Ali wasn't even angry. He was just like "you slapped me. You crazy." Holmes said he wasn't even throwing full punches and was pretty much throwing open hand slaps in this fight because he didn't wanna KO his friend.
