  • Talon retro fit of a Jeep CJ 5-CJ7 Dana Transfer boot upside down under the shift gate to control heat and Dust as well as foaming under the cup holders (my fails and triumphs) to control heat. Also shortening the shifter arm and pulling the gas tank filller tube to increase more fuel.
    Special thanks to Robert Johnson, Fred Vacca and Heath for your Ideas and input.

    I really appreciate including the "fails". I know that about half the stuff I try is a fail the first time. 3rd time is usually the charm. I"ve implemented about 3/4 of these ideas. Still need to get the shift gate. Just waiting for the warranty to expire so as not to give them any excuses if I have a major breakdown.

      Yea, I never got the extended warranty as I am only in the states about four months out of the year anyway, but with about 2000 miles I’ve had zero problems so far. Well I just figured if things don’t work out I’ll just try something different, but I will say the foam really keeps the heat down in the cup holders and the boot works great as well!
      Good luck with all your mods, working on the Talon is half the fun anyway👍

    Thanks for the ideas. I went with a 6 spd. shifter knob. Works great, looks cool.

    How do you keep (or clean) your harnesses so clean? Maybe dumb question, but real question! Lol

      Well we ride mostly in the desert so it’s mostly dust and I almost always wash inside and out after every ride (longer rides) However I no longer have the Talon

    What is the button on the grab handle and what are the blue buttons in front of the cup holders?

    • @gotalon
      @gotalon  Год назад +2

      That’s the push to talk button for car to car on the radio, the other blue things are actually dummy plugs from Rugged Radio that fill the space when I don’t have the headphones plugged in so dirt or water doesn’t get in.
